I would have never thought of using pistons for tank steering. I feel like the pistons could be used for double duty somehow but that thought hasn't crystallized of my mind yet.
Hey storm i would love to see a tutorial on a tank cannon that moves with your camera and as the body turns the tank cannon stays in place so you dont have to re align your shot. that may be basic knowledge but im new and almost exclusively watch your tutorials Thank you :)
If you connect a compass block to your turret then link it to the servo which controls your turret's rotation you should be able to get it to stay aligned
I've been building a large tank and struggling with the friction with tank steering, applying your method I should be able to work around it just using programming which is handy, I've been meaning to redesign the turret since they added the camera block, no need for 2 seats anymore!
Oof, that is one no heli engine purist way of going about tank steering Its much easier, and this case practical, to just use a heli engine instead of all of these pistons

Edit: No need now, I was able to replace pistons with hinges and make my creation work.
U can make tank steering with one engine just use xor logic gates and do the exact same
