I think the song revolves around an individual, who has an obsession with going out with friends (which the phone represents) , drinking, and drugs . An average party girl. Who ‘lives out her dream every night’ , but in the end when she looks in the mirror she sees a monster where she once stood, representing the zombie/ or the zombie represents her accumulated problems that come and attack her. In the end of the video we see the zombie tied up on a leash. Therefore she started to control her problems and desires, but they are very much still present.

To me this song represents the downward spiral of depression, I like the depiction of her perception whilst drunk or high and then the contrasting depiction when sober, but because when you "open up" your "blurry eyes" as in sobering up, you see that nothing is as nice as when you're drunk, so you get drunk again just to find will to survive. There's also themes of guilt which probably comes from seeing the state your in and knowing that you desperately need to change because you're hurting others and yourself, but feeling like you can't because reality is too unbearable to face up to, it's easier to wallow in depression and anxieties hazed in bottles of booze. I feel the zombie is a physical representation of how she feels, which is mindless, out of control and malicious. I've tried as hard as I can to put this into words and this is the best I can do, I resonate with this song, it helped me when I was going through addiction, because people don't always want some sugar-coated advice on hope, when your perception is so warped by your own depression and ails, it's better to allow yourself to feel it and pour it all out so it's not pressed in like an over-packed suitcase.
