    It’s cold. They’re an HEUI injection system ran off of oil pressure. At 5 degrees oil is thick so until it warms up a little and the oil thins out they sound funny. Mines been like that since I bought it and it’s got over 216k on it now. Sounds healthy to me

    What’s with all the negative comments, 6.0’s aren’t the most reliable sure but if you have the money to make them right they are amazing trucks. Get arp studs and that’s already half the battle

    Oil actuates vgt veins so truck is programmed to wait for it to circulate a little before it opens veins, stutter in idle is normal as well it’s called gelled fuel just get an additive or plug it in.

    truck sounds perfectly normal .. at start the idle is 7-800 rpm so you dont hear the turbo as much as when high idle kicks in, takes a minute for the computer to figure out the oil temp is low which kicks high idle on which spools your turbo which is why you thought it was stuck, some of the chattering could also be from when cold fuel hits your injectors after it burns off the warm fuel from the glow plugs... all normal things they do when its really cold... easy solution is plug it in... lol cheers from canada eh

    My 6.0 is the best cold starting diesel I have owned. If you run thicker oil like 15w40 that sound is normal. If you switch to T6 5w40 it will sound a lot better.

  • @Heckleburger
    @Heckleburger Рік тому +1

    A turbo can't be "stuck" if it was the truck wouldn't run. It's HEUI acting funny on thick and cold oil. You should run a 0/5w40 syn in weather that cold. Hell all year round as it's better anyway.

      Turbo veins are stuck, meaning it’s stuck to an open position, no whistle.

      hey buddy thanks a lot. that alarm system is almost 12 years old or older. It is the Viper SmartStart alarm system and it’s got the remote start option which I love because as you see it allows the glow plugs to cycle. I live in miami so we crank of vehicles in the morning to COOL them down lol, not heat them like most people
