Coming back to this video, Baiwei sure have cleaned up their act since this. The QC issues seem to have been from a certain batch of the figure. There have been 3 revisions since then plus Nemesis and Magnus recolors. Quality seems to be very good now, especially now that Baiwei’s built up a reputation of good quality KO’s with their recent figures.
I’m one of the comments at 0:50. And I’ve got the metallic repaint of this on the way to replace the one that broke on me.
Update: Metallic version in hand now, and it feels *better* than my SS44. Joints feel nice, plastic feels firm and flexible and not brittle like the V1, and the metallic colors are pure eye candy. The front grille transformation is so smooth compared to SS32/44 that it feels illegal. Would highly recommend checking out the new revisions.

Just because your friend was able to, that doesn’t mean that this has a massive quality control issue(probably because it’s a knockoff).

Glad my copy wasn't broken. But the die cast feet weighs down the legs which makes it fiddly.

I’m so happy I bought my studio series tf3 Prime when they where still 50 dollars
Be careful when handling deluxe-voyager KO’S as they’re really fragile and something repetitive I’ve found is that the left arm snaps for some reason especially on Optimus ones. May I recommend LS03F?its 100$ with LEDS and much sturdier
I thought Chefatron was exaggerating with fragility (I only need to say "pencil" and you'll understand why) plus the way he transforms the KO seemed like a gorilla was handling it
Chefatron's a knob.
He's a knob who didn't do his research. He got the first version of the Baiwei's 1022, when they released 2 more versions of it afterwards, and decided to "boycott" Baiwei. When in reality, V2 and V3 are much better, I owe V3, and even though I've never owned the SS release, I do own many SS figures and Tw-1022 v3 is on par with them. At least the one I got is. Built like a brick, and so far nothing's broken, and I've transformed it quite a few times.

I bought this figure and personally I absolutely love it. Mostly got it for the accessories though. Although I got the one with silver instead of the grey
I dont get how the buzzworthy prime is so expensive already, like double it's retail price even though it released less than a year ago
Scalpers are just greedy, and see an opportunity when it comes to popular figures.
It doesn’t help that the Buzzworthy release of the figure didn’t get many copies put out into Target. Same with the Buzzworthy release of the Grimlock, and the SS 102 Optimus. It’s sad how that wave of Buzzworthy releases got very few copies released to Target; and they still haven’t restocked.
Hasbro is re releasing the original Studio Series 44 in the Buzzworthy Bumblebee subline so you could get him if you want a version of this mold that doest suck
Damn i never thought it would be a DOTM figure
i got the original star leader which is a slight remould of the first studio series prime, it had a loose shoulder and arm kept popping off, luckily i was able to fix those
Alright, to shed some light on this, this is v1, it had massive QC issues and chest made out of clear plastic. It sucks, and even though it mostly looks good, it's good only for display. V2 and v3 are much better, actually go through some QC and are built of better plastic.
I got v3 and it's pretty solid, I was so happy to actually own an SS32/44 Optimus Prime. Nothing broke yet.
I believe Baiwei ain't bad at all.
PrimeVsPrime recently reviewed their Ironhide, and I mean, it seems to a beast of a figure. Scalpers can go fuck themselves when there's a knockoff selling for less than $30.
Absolutely agree with you, I got my hands on an EX version (which is the metallic painted one) 2 days ago out of curiosity. It's such an improvement over V1 and feels even better than my official SS44 in some areas (mainly the front grille where the transformation is now extremely smooth and painless).
I also got the V1 back when it first came out and well... It wasn't good. (My comment is dead center at 0:50).
I think you should try buy the smaller version of this.
That one came almost exactly 70-80% like the Hasbro's studio series,with at least minimal damage like stress mark,not broken parts,and tighter joints.

It feels like the KO company was given the exact same budget constraints as the original but failed to account for stability and mass production. This explains why some details feel more movie accurate but why excessive clear plastic was used instead
This reminds me when I broke off the left hand of MP Leo Convoy when I was transforming it... luckily I was able to fix it
I have this figure and it’s honestly holding up pretty good, guess I got really lucky and got a good copy compared to a lot of reviews I seen of him

That’s crazy. My copy I got for 50 dollars with the weapon kit on Mercari and it’s literally almost perfect. The back canisters did break off but I honestly prefer it without them. Everything else is perfect

I have a bootleg SS05 optimus prime. it was great out of the box, you could barely tell it's a bootleg, but after some years most of the plastic has become yellow and it looks bad

If you don't have the studio siries one put I'm Bach together with superglue and use this guy instead.
when i bought the toy it came in perfect condition but I opened it a bit to quickly because i was excited to get it finally and nothing broke... yet i also lost the two seperate chest peaces but i found them and the were just siting there till i watched this video so thank you for showing me it
I two copies of the KO, both arrived without any damage and seem to transform fine. Plastic quality feels a little thinner than official. Die-cast feet are nice, I may try to put them on my official.

I had a Optimus prime dotm voyager class and i broke his arm and i called it accurate also i was 3 when i broke his arm
The reason it broke is because where the glass is on the bottom of his face under it it’s clear that means it’s probably gonna break
Yea, this is an older version, the newer better one is the TW-1024 EX, it has a blue neck, and it's much better quality.
And also bt just be gentle and it wont break JUST BE GENTLE
man seeing other people get these figure in the defective state, made me feel lucky when i bought this mine was ok nothing damage except for a peg on the pelvis being too big and screws being too loose or too tight

My figure didnt come broken fortunately, even tho poorly packaged (ordered it without a box)
i got mine a while back. both legs completely snapped off at the hip, and then the torso split in half. i only still have it so i can buy a new one and salvage this hunk of shit for parts

Get a NEW one. The V1 and V2 versions were flawed, but ever since they made their V3, Baiwei has been making QUALITY BOOTLEGS on par with the best of them.
Optimus princesses broken
For people that dont know, Baiwei is a new company thst resells studio series figures that are sold out and are over 100$, an they make them better, but the octimus is the weakest out of the 3 they remarketed. They took Ironhide and gave him the weapon upgrade kit and gave him foot articulation, and priced him at 35$. This guy is judging to fast. And I have this figure and I have absolutly NO problem with. I stands at my best octimus I have. Like honestly, how didyou get all these problems? You got the worst QC isues and all I got was one blade being molded without removing the peg on it. The fact that you dont know how to not break your toy and that you dont know how to tab everything together.
may have a slightly accurate solution look for a bolt that is the same size as the plastic of the broken hand, remove the fracture mark that is still attached then heat the bolt of the same size earlier, stab it into the broken arm slowly and adjust its position and remember to use a bolt that is the same size as the that hinge
I got Baiwei repaint of this to Ultra Magnus and I have no problem with plaatic quality. Maybe baiwei makes "ultra magnus" white Star leader with blue flames from better plaatic than Optimus version.
I mean, I could imagine like making my own copies of it just more detailed and have better paint and be a knock off, but I would try making a description of what it is about and try to put sketch mark as possible. I could also do it with soundwave as well just making it more G1 accurate so yeah

Its tw-1022. Dont buy it because its very fragile. Instead choose star leader 0622-A. Its SS05 KO but it have better quality. You can find even metalic version which is perfect

Okay at 5:48 the panel isn't broken the same thing happens with ss32 and ss44 it's because the grey piece is held in place with friction nubs and they aren't really long enough for the holes
