A friend : so, have you decided what major you gonna pick ? Me : well since my dream of being a musician and a singer got smashed by life and reality ...I've been thinking of being nothing and anything at this point so I really don't know, does that make sense ? Him: uh.... Me: but yeah I'm sure you picked the right thing for you so ...are we gonna eat something or what ?? ^^ (INFJs life)
The real question a lot of us want to know is what is ur zodiac sign? Pretty please? (I’m doing my puppy dog eyes now in case u didn’t know 🥺)~ with luv ESFJ 🥰💖💋
Infp be like "I have no clue what I am doing here. It costs a lot of money for something so uncertain... What if I'm not good enough at the major I pick? What if I can't use my degree after college to get a job? What if I pick a passion and then grow to hate it? What if I pick a career that will make a difference but its too hard? What if I hate the career I choose but I'm trapped in it because it's the only thing my degree qualifies me to do and I can't quit because jobs are forever when you hate conflict and interviews? Why should I confirm to society's expectations? Maybe I should just work for myself... but then who will be my boss and tell me what I need to do???"
Now It is funnier that my best friend (ENFP) made his thesis about "Memes and its impact in advertising and social media" (His major was Communication Science and Advertising)
I am an ENFP and i just threw dice to pick between some random ideas i had.. ended up picking geology, in hindsight could have been be much better, but also much worse.
This is sooooo my situation... i would be interested in so many fields if there weren't just so many goddamn papers and shit to do... My first degree i just finished, which was music (conducting) and now i am switching into psychology xD
Ali Saleem I kept having panic attacks with my depression - also dropped out... Though it isn’t like I wanted to go to college in the first place. That was forced upon me by my parents.
I'm INFP, still in high school and can't decide if I show go to college or just start working after graduate. I don't even have any careers I like to begin with
I chose a major according to my ranking, which classes that I do not really suck at it and city. So I studied molecular biology and genetics now I have to choose and apply for a master's program if I find time from procrastinating.
@@_mrnna Hi. Thanks. You just cleared that well for me. It wasn't messy though. I understood it very well and from your grammars and spellings I find you fluent. I'm Filipino so I might be messy if you don't understand me. Thanks
My INFJ ass just wants to read everything. I'm a biogeologist who've studied physics, nanotechnology and inorganic chemistry, and i have frequent anxiety attacks about all the things i wish i could've studied (:
Are you sure there s not a tiny intp stuck there somewhere in your brain by accident? You seem quite varied. With no social sciences in between. Not like it's a requirement, agreed.
@@Melissa-wj6un and I don't think so called feelings are devoid of logic, and don't think thinkers decisions are not affected by their feelings. The so called feelings s effect diameter changes as far as I can see for example. And the events and their causes before the pure calculation? is applied for the decision is not that pure. neither the application of the sum found let's say is generally direct/one way/not dependent on other factors, including social ones. This is my personal "feelings 😁" though.
Can relate to the anxiety attacks... your list, for example, makes me jealous. I studied communications, professional writing, linguistics, and education. I always had a yen for the natural sciences, but it never quite clicked...
I can’t decide (super indecisive) between becoming a meteorologist, epidemiologist, astrologist, archeologist, psychologist, or a historian. Mostly Meteorology or Epidemiology
Omg, I'm an INFJ too and I ended up with only one choice for college just because I forgot to complete one extra requirement for applying to CA schools. I just brushed it off as a "this must be where I'm supposed to go" situation.
@@fatimazahrah3995 Haha, yeah. At first I was like, "oh shit." But then it was kinda nice. Like, "welp, at least I don't need to worry about deciding on which one place to go..." I ultimately chalked it up to being in the hands of Fate, lol. My only regret is that I ended up in a big school. It was hard to connect with the professors and feel supported by them when they were teaching to a class of 400 students.
@@leiyoi oh wow. I applied to this scholarship program (Questbridge) where I list some schools by order of which one I like best and then the schools will look at my application and see if they want to choose me. So basically, I can be matched to any of the schools and if any school on my list chooses me, it will be binding because it'll be fully paid for so I'll have to attend that school. I know some people who were saying that they don't like the binding aspect of the application, but I actually love it. I hate agonizing over choices, too. I'd rather have a choice made for me, unless it's something that is obviously not something I'd like
I found out what I wanted to do as a career by taking time off from school and working, I'm an ESTJ but it still might work for you. I work in the hospitality industry and since I was shy growing up there's no way I would have known I enjoyed that without trying it. And it helped me save money. Also some people who don't have college degrees are still successful and happy. Maybe ask someone who knows you for their advice.
Being British, I didn't understand the 'undeclared major' part for the INFP. Having looked it up, as an INFP, I now absolutely understand. Although, as an INFP, I'd probably have already overthought my answers to the Dean's possible questions, have rehearsed them by writing them out on paper, in a dazzling display of subtle nuanced argument, every eventuality covered.... then when asked, got completely overwhelmed, muddled and spoken garbled rubbish. Wouldn't have cried, but would have been very disappointed in myself.* *yes this has happened to me. Many times.
@@LJ_Lovelee An undeclared major allows a student to explore various subjects to count toward electives in any major while also completing the general education credits that each degree program will include. INFP is going to be me in collage, I’m so indecisive when it comes to careers and subjects I want to study. I don’t have problems with any of the subjects I’m studying, I don’t excel in a certain area either, I’m just equally good at all of them. And than when I think about jobs I just can’t see myself doing any of them for the rest of my life..
You just have to chose one subject/career, try it out, and change if you don’t like it. Then repeat, I guess. You don’t have to do anything for the rest of your life, you just need something to do right now. That’s my plan anyway; the problem is I still can’t decide what to do first.
Kira it’s a good idea though I’m still don’t know what I should choose. The thing with me is, I either can’t decide at all or I know exactly what I want and it’s the only option I’ll take. The bad thing is that I know exactly what I want when it comes to little things but I can’t decide at all when something large or important is in question.
You can think about “which major will give me the space and tools necessary to do what I want, grow, and learn more in the future?”. We xNxP will never stop learning and exploring new possibilities. So try to learn how to learn, learn the academic tools so you can do that on your own or come back to uni someday. Don’t let self doubt get in the way, be confident that you can achieve the dreams you have and pick a major that is most useful.
No kidding, the INFP one about wanting to just leave it at undeclared was legit me for the first three years, finally chose Psychology, but now what? Funny how I like understanding and observing people, but have social anxiety...
What do you think of psychology? I am INFP and interested in psychology, health environment, math, food studies, computer, and accounting. But, I haven't decide it yet :( I am so indecisive
@@najmahz I enjoy learning about it, always have, figured I'd apply myself to learn more and maybe find a specific study in Psychology to pursue. I tried many different classes to get a feel for what I felt like continuing with. I almost did genetics, then writing, so I understand the indecisiveness.
Cool combination: Let's settle this like adults t-shirt and the Despicable me poster. "I won't let my dreams just be memes". That could be part of your merchandise, Frank. 😎
Though I am an INTP... the ENTP is literally me. I plan on pursuing chemistry, music, and creative writing... heh. Also the INTP one is so true. Decision making? No thank you... (hence the triple major)
Tbh same here lmao I'm also an INTP but ENTP's one fit right in, just that I want double majors, to pursue Medicine, and Genetics or Atom physics or Radiation physics for the second one. Thought, I'm pretty certain for what I want and INTJ's one is literally me, I wanted to be a doctor since I was 4 years old, but I'm stuck between 3 options for double major...bruh I talked too much again.
@@marchtheastronautmeal heh yeah it be like that I also changed my mind again, and now I plan on double majoring in chemistry and physics/astronomy lol Also dw about "talking too much," I really don't mind and other people probably don't either! It's really interesting hearing about other people's experiences, and it's nice to know that I'm not alone in indecisiveness :) I hope you have a lovely day!
Me, an infj: don't know what I should study because I want to learn so many things Somebody: but what do you want to work in? Me: ...work? Somebody: yeah, like, do something in the real world Me: ... eww I don't like that
For a moment I considered Psychology just because I was too anxious to go to therapy and that way I would know how to explain what I feel like a good old INFP. Ps: It's funny that you want to study that and you have Dee as your pic and name 🙊
As an INFP, I have wanted to be an archaeologist since I was around 7-8. But I have recently also wanted to be a writer, so I’ll combine them. However, I will just choose a bachelor in archaeology and then a master in either Paleontology or Egyptology.
INFP here. I was also planning to go for archeology, but when I found out about how low the salary is during my internship, I have thought about either joining the military, becoming a historian or doing something in the government. However, regardless of how I decide, I still plan on studying egyptology and art history.
Damn! I'm an E/INFP and I wanted to be an archaeologist when I was in school. Then my folks kinda induced me into taking law and now I'm studying literature for a career switch. Good luck to you!
“Homework? Is that like - a requirement?” Spoken like a true ENTP 😂. This was literally me going into 9th grade, down to the Triple Major! I learned my lesson for college and chose an acting school instead 😂
I'm isfp and think the same, that's the exact reason why I expend the end of my first semester crying because of my grades in calculus, physic and general mechanics
ENTP: "If a hit Phisolophy in the mornings and Physics in the afternoons, then that leaves the evenings free for some casual and carefree Chemical Engineering" HAHAHHA That's sooo accurate
@@yevhe7852 hm. I don't know. If you forget about what is most payed carrier and what is expected of of you to do, what's something you love, you find some kind of purpose in it, something so obvious that you maybe didn't think of it?
As an infp.. In my senior year of highschool.. Everyone had already picked a university and a major.. I stayed lost for the whole year unable to pick, had lots of panic attacks and even depression since the most question asked is what do you want to major in... I am good at everything.. So whatever I will major in.. I will pass it.. I just can't choose.. I was almost gonna go with interior design, bcz my brother appreciated my artistic side.. But on the way back home.. Dad said what about biomedical or bioengineering abroad... I thought about it.. And was like why not? And here I am studying abroad chemical biological engineering 😅
Biomedical and bio-engineering is huge right now. Part of my decision making process was to see which job markets are flooded and which ones are in dire need, that way u don’t end up graduating and finding it very difficult to find a job. So as not to cause u any more anxiety, these job markets vary from region to region. Just Google it. Hope this helps! ~ 💖 ESFJ
This is me except I’m only good at the thing that I realize I won’t want to actually do as a career so I’m trying to find everything and I don’t even know if I wasn’t to go to college or uni but my parents are making me
@@lydialaeke6647 Uni is a great experience to have in your life... You will learn self independence and stuff that they never taught you in highschool... I was the same as you.. But when I started to imagine me working in the field.. I felt that I don't want to be this person.. And I don't want to relay on them as a job bcz I am really always anxious and I need the feeling of the presence of a boss.. But my dad's idea sparked a thing in me.. And I decided to go with it...
3:55 INTP/INTJ: You fool... History is an extension of mortuary science. Just because you don't see blood and just hear about it, blood had been shed, is being shed, and will be shed. You have no idea.
ENTP: Yeah, maybe you should had picked history since there's so many facts and figures that nobody should care. INTP: Maybe, but then you hear how people actually doing dumb stuff and how seemingly illogical ideas make sense and repeated years down the line, just so you can start a debate, it's exhausting. I might as well do sports statistics just to fit in. If I can't be a jock, I might as well help them track their records. Backing a history maker would be more appealing, I guess.
It's scary how right he got the ENTP. I just have interests in so many different fields that I want to study them all but when it actually comes to the studying part I'm outta there. lmao
ENFP here - I'm almost scared at how accurate this was! I have so many dreams and passions that I want to pursue that why can't I fuse them all into one? And then also I have such big dreams that people say it only happens in movies or books or memes..I want to make it reality :)
It's so cool that you have so many dreams and passions! I'm an ENFP too and I'm currently studying to become a grade school teacher cause I want to make the school experience better for kids with learning disabilities! Both my brother and I have ADHD and we've had horrible experiences with teachers so I want to provide a better experience for the younger generation!
same dud if you combine all of em u know all of em and can do all of em then like why not id like to coin it as the 'infinity major' if ya know wut i mean

As an 18yo INTJ, the INTJ bit hits hard. Because I always knew what I wanted since I was 9 and I already planned everything out to reach my main goal before I got into middle school. Unfortunately, growing up with domestic abuse and molestation (and losing best friends that you consider a welcoming family) can get you depressed at an early age (in my case, 12-14). After that I got absolutely cynical. So during my high school years (15-18), I believed I wouldn’t make it alive by the end of the years, which led to me giving up my hopes and dreams (and an additional reason to get more demotivated was they always say my dream is too ambitious). I didn’t come to graduation because I wasn’t happy with my results; I got all Cs. My point is, with the career path I’m forced to take, there’s a high chance I will be depressed again. And I hate being depressed. The thought of doing something you’re not passionate about.... is it really worth living for? Working long term *for* people doesn’t sit right with me. I would definitely feel like a lifeless robot working for society. I want to change he world, not maintain this dull socioeconomic. *Moral for my fellow young INTJs, a lil advice, it’s great that you know what you want for your self/future. If you’re passionate about it, hold on to it. If you one day think the world is dying, it’s useless or you’ve given up on yourself, it might seem hard but no matter what happens, stick to your passion. Do anything to take you to your goal.* *And if you’re depressed and suicidal, ask yourself, would you have the guts to end it all? are you going to give it all up? Are you sure? Because as long as you’re alive, hold on to it.* Because the biggest regret I had was thinking to end it all, by either myself or the world. I let go of my dream. Lost many opportunities. So don’t end up like me. Because now, I’m taking a tougher road to get back to the smooth side.
I went through the same experiences as yours and i'm still wondering what Can i do. I've ended up studing economy in college and became very depressed. My initial dream was to be an artist, i used to draw very well since young age and played multiple instruments for a long time but since i didn't have financial ressources and support i dropped all my activities and this whole Idea off my head and became afraid to even think about it. I Lost all my motivation in life, i don't eat well nor sleep, all i do is wandering endlessly in life, i'm Lost. Now i still don't have choice, i need to make money so i must get a diploma and waste my years in something that i don't like and i think that i will probably never be an artist due to my lack in motivation. Trauma and poverty Can cause a lot of harm, i Wonder if i Can get through this and be healthy and motivated again. Deep down, i struggle between a denying positive state of mind and a realistic dark depressive side. You're not alone here, keep fighting ! Somehow i believe that one that we finally do something that we want and be happy at least once in life. -Fellow intj.
To you and others with similar experience, I hope that everything will go well and that you find things in life which are meaningful to you. -fellow INTJ
@@KieroSi I think it's quite draining to study a major that you have no kind of interest in just for the money, I did it and regretted it. I'm changing my major this year hope this one goes well 😔
Well, hello there! As an INFP who has finally figured out what she wants to do in life, I think you could too. I'm a Catholic female in high school and I plan on going to university for a major in theology and a minor in writing. My goal is to become a female theologian (most women find that they better connect with female theologians as opposed to male theologians, and we need more women active in the faith anyways). It's an excellent plan for me because I am passionate about my faith and theology, as well as writing. With my major and my minor, I will not have to worry about wasting my time and money to earn a degree that I may not use in my future as I have a strong desire to be a stay at home mother and housewife. After all, what good would a degree do me if I end up spending the rest of my years as a dedicated mother to her children? Great good actually because theology and writing would help me in creating a blog for other Catholic stay at home mothers and I would be able to advocate for Catholic youth. This means I can balance out the housewife life while having some form of a career that I would use my degree for. My suggestion is to find something that would be able to be tied into the lifestyle you want to live as an adult. I understand that it's overwhelming and difficult since I, myself, have been to the school counselors' office seven times to change my career plan, but that count doesn't include the times when I switched back to a former plan. You all will find something; I'm confident in you guys. Best wishes to every single one of you!
Your ESFPs are always spot on. They're such lovely messes. So are your INFPs, except for the crying in front of people part. I would _never_ give myself away like that 👀
@@giishaw92 Both the INFPs in my life never cry, and have a hard time expressing more intense emotional range. But I can still tell that they feel deeply, just not as overtly expressive.
By the time I cry in front of people I'm at my wits end and I can no longer keep it in. Of course by then, it's a proper outburst and people are taken aback. Lol.
The INTJ one was so accurate, can confirm as an INTJ. Of course, I am an astrophysics major, which was properly documented when I was 3 years old, how dare you even suggest anything else. (With a whole plethora of side-interests, but that's not the point here)
As an intp the entp in this video was really relatable."so many people told me that its impossible, so i kinda have to do it." Is really something that i always think
Have you ever just skipped a whole semester and just show up for exam just to prove how useless professors are? It was the most refreshing thing I ever did
Lol my mom is ENFJ and she actually did triple major with communicology, anthropology, and ethnic studies and she wants to work in language revitalization. Also this is gonna be a bit unbelievable, but she got straight As and got on the Dean’s list three times. She works her butt off and it definitely shows, and I’m so proud of her :3
INTJ here. I don't know what called me out more: knowing what my major would be since I was 4 or getting a biochemistry degree so I can be near a dead person (mortuary science isn't available here)
Now imagine being an INFP and in your country there is no such thing as undeclared degree. You HAVE to choose something even if you'll regret it later. Yeah I suffered and I'm still suffering. And the worst part is that if ever you want to change your major, it's even harder because or you leave your course and retake all those tiring exams to enter into a university or you stay years filling papers untill they accept you to change your course.
That’s something that always confused me about America. How can you go to university without deciding what your degree is? Like what do you do then? I swear most Americans go to uni at 18 and haven’t even decided what they want to do. It’s seems like a waste of time and money to go to university before you’ve chosen a degree to pursue.
INFP here. Better to change now than suffer a life of a career you won't love. You will always be driven by your heart. Few years of retaking is better than regretting later after graduating. I've seen someone like that, finished engineering degree. He later on retake the course that he really like, he was kinda old already when we had him as a classmate on his 2nd course, but he then was happy.
I'm an INFP and I'm so conflicted inside. Like- I think I know what I want to study, but what if it doesn't go well. What if I do'nt get paid enough. What if I turn out hating it, so I plan on majoring in everything. Just as a back up plan.
I’m an INTJ and still haven’t picked what studies I should do for college, I have 5 choices and in each one of them I have projected my entire life and which career would make me successful and will lead me to world domination(actually just my country) I need more time and more research
for intj’s there are only 2 options: 1. when you can’t choose 2. when you have chosen it when you were still in primary or secondary there is no in between
Oh my god thanks. I thought I was on the wrong side of internet, seeing comments such as "I PLANNED SINCE I WAS IN THE WOMB - INTJ"🙄 People sure know how to exaggerate! dang!
@@parfiteleporter yeah but to be honest, i have made mine when i was in primary school, to be an artist, after that, i want to be a politician in grade 8, then through considerations, i thought i would be a animation artist 2 years later, and now, i am ready to learn to be a politician ... :) so the exaggeration partially based on truths
@@minhngoc4542 There's a thing called agreeing to the change, while most are not. Ever since I could talk, I wanted to be an artist, later a scientist, later a designer, at one point writer and archeologist. I'm now an artist, writer, and a designer.
My parents always get concerned when I tell them I have my whole life planned out because they’re like “what if it doesn’t work out like that?”. You haven’t truly planned out your life if you haven’t planned out multiple backup options and multiple alternative universe lives. I have two things I want to do really badly in my life but I can’t do both. I get depressed when I fail one even though to do one I would have to completely fail the other. The two things are being a kpop idol and living in japan. They both require me to live in completely different countries. Every time I fail a kpop audition I get really sad but I’m currently planning my life where I’d live in japan so being a kpop idol wouldn’t even work.
I think if I spend even half the time developing one of my ideas as I have spend time debating with on why I shouldn't be doing certain things I'd have a succesfull buissness by now (and I'm 17, that says a lot about my work ethic, lol)
@@taugamhorrsod8972 As a 32y/o ENTP who's also entrepreneurial, I just want to say YES HOMIE, keep up that self-awareness and keep yourself in check, also don't get lost in the part where developing ideas is more fun than doing them afterward lol, you'll do great things, just don't get in your own way! This concludes this unsolicited advice
ENTP here, I changed my major 6 times over the course of five years. Even considered dropping out. Not even kidding. Every subject sounds interesting, but also forced study gives me hives 😭
As an enfp I’ve changed my mind a million times but I’ve been set on being a lawyer since I was 12. I guess it’s like my core values, and passion is law, and I want to fight for injustices. Also you can find so many possibilities within law. And spot patterns of causation and find new things in the law and there will always be new things to take away from a case ect. And that has always appealed to me. Also you get to help people.
What I wanted: the paranormal. My comprise: major in Astrophysics to see if I can prove that other dimensions exist. What I ended up studying: architecture and working as a production designer in films. -INFJ.
INTP here. There exist at least 4 dimensions, which we all know about: 3 spatial and 1 temporal. However, superstring theory requires 7 additional dimensions, so we’re up to a total of 11, of which we don’t know how many are spatial and how many temporal. So if you want to (attempt to) prove the existence of additional dimensions, you should study Physics and become a string theorist.
The ENTP one was scarily accurate... Quarantine made me add another major, so now I'm doing three and 0/10 recommend. I'm drowning lol but only three more months of pain and misery
@@someoldytaccount I think I've done every version of college possible lol I did my first year and a half at a community college so that I could work and have done the past year at a state school. Every summer I've done online semesters with both schools and would recommend if you are fine with paying essentially the same amount of money for the online experience. I think it is smart to do as many online classes as you can through your community college since they are literally half the price. It allowed me to graduate early and if you are like me and like to keep up momentum I think it is very useful to do online classes, especially if you want to be able to work or do internships during that time. One thing I wish I considered though was that online classes still require a lot of time so don't be an idiot and stack on too many other responsibilities just because you are not physically required to be somewhere. Good luck with everything! Don't be afraid to change anything you don't like once you've started. It is much easier than it seems so there is no need to ever feel stuck in one major, one institution, one class, ect.
I feel like there is something about ENTPs that makes us feel like we can do anything no matter how unlikely and the fact that it’s unlikely means we have to beat the odds or something. XD
Interesting, what exactly do you do? My 12 year old I'm almost positive is an INFJ (like me) and he wants to be an astronomer.. well he wants to be an astronaut but astronomer is his second choice. I'm interested in whatever you can share!
I'm an INFJ. I was undecided for most of my first year of college. I ended up double majoring in Psychology and Family and Human Development. I went to graduate school and got a master's degree (M.Ed.) in school psychology. I ended up hating it and left the program early before I could get my Educational Specialist (Ed.S. degree). Now I'm in graduate school for Educational Policy Studies, with a concentration in Research, Measurement, and Statistics. Reading through the comments, I noticed that tons of other INFJs have trouble deciding on a college major and a lot of INFJs are also interested in psychology! My advice, if you don't like what you're studying, then you should explore your options! Your life will be miserable if you're studying a major or have a career in a field that you despise. It's also okay to change your career later in life. People usually are interested in many different things, and I think it's unrealistic to expect everyone to love the same career field for their entire life. Also, college isn't for everyone. Technical schools/vocational schools are a great option, especially since college is so expensive!
Ah yes, the INTJ. So Accurate. Me and my INTJ friend basically have our whole lives planned ahead of us. From choices of different Unis, different courses, future careers, ideas for housing, retirement - you know, things that everyone should be thinking about.
Eeeyy... Fellow INTJ. Ikr. I spend most of my life living in my mind (simulating the future) I wonder how some people wing it. The idea of going in without a plan terrifies me.
ENTP here. Sometimes I think nobody understands me, and then I see that Frank James called me out on my triple major without even knowing me. Don't know what the moral to that story is, but yes I tried a triple major, and yes it turns out there are actual reasons people don't do it besides conformity.
@@victoriae725 EXACTLY Me: Why CAN'T I do a triple major? Counselor: Nobody's ever asked that, because the answer is so obvious Me: That makes me question it even more
So true, well, I'm not at college yet (High school yet) but I've tried a few times something like that, like being part of many student councils and also two big projects for the science expo at school because someone told me that was impossible but they could answer why... It seems some stuff might be right even without a good evidence 😅😂😂😂😂😂😂😥
"Did I pick my major or did my major pick me?" Perfect for ISFP's never-ending reflection time. Also comparing the major with a Cashmere sweater, so accurate 😂😂
Me (INTJ): Mom I want to study criminology maybe forensic science. Mom : You are almost a perfect Criminal already and imagine if you understand the know how of the industry. Lord save the world.
I'm an INTP but I'm internally screaming at how the ENTP described me with scary accuracy. I'm double majoring in Marine Science and Math (well, petitioning to double major because it's way above the undergrad unit cap. Yes the petition is just a little paperwork; no, I have yet to complete it despite having this intention and working with the academic advisors for a year now, but it'll get done eventually), and there's no chemistry degree available at my school but to supplement learning more in that field, I was planning to work in the chemistry lab on campus. That obviously isn't possible now, but I still took on a individual project to continue analyzing research that was left unfinished by my chem professor's previous students (not for anything in particular, just in my own time because it sounded interesting). Also, before I decided to double major, I was legitimately trying to double minor in Math and Music lol. I had to turn down taking a really cool astronomy class this summer because I was too busy, but I keep signing up for random discussion groups-- not for the discussion aspect, but for the access to interesting readings (though I guess listening to other people's perspectives can be interesting too, sometimes). Everything is interesting! The homework sentiment is too real, though.
Math and music are great. They fit together well and are different enough. Homework/papers etc. is going to be inevitable so we need to manage our attention and focus and realise these are limited resources. Research experience can be awesome and fun, but bench type of stuff can bore or even drain N-types (maybe that’s just me - chemistry never was my thing, and for biology only certain kinds). But if you know you like to do research, you may want to consider in an area at least adjacent to your major(s). Sounds to me like you will do well if you focus! And read the syllabus ;)) -- I’m an ENTP sibling (cousin?). In case it helps you/anyone else reading I’m copy pasting my reply to another comment: At my undergrad uni you actually couldn’t do a triple major, or even change your major, which in hindsight may have been a blessing in disguise. I necessarily took the sequential approach and went to college and... kinda never stopped. BSc, MS, MSc, PhD, and a postdoc, in sometimes adjacent but different fields. Now I am too old for it, but I still kind of wish I did the opera thing or film school sometimes... 🤔. Not gonna list the fields because I don’t need anybody googling my CV etc - but some observations/experiences: spreading yourself too thin is appealing but potentially dangerous; if you can’t decide, go for the fundamentals first (e.g., mathematics) then branch out OR consider an interdisciplinary field; what you major in isn’t nearly as important than learning how to learn (which we are actually good at when we focus); I couldn’t even have imagined where I ended up now when I was first starting college, sure has been an adventure! Good luck!
I am also an INTP that fit more to ENTP. I am studying two dual degrees - History and Environmental Studies. As well trying to attend interesting courses.
Holy shit dude! I'm an ENTP and this is EXACTLY what happened to me in college. I was going for a psych degree, marketing degree, and undertaking music production by myself. Then after three years and less than a full year of credits away for my Associate's, I dropped out because I didn't wanna be forced to do one thing for the rest of my life.
@Christian Lopez I could've but school wasn't the only reason I dropped out. My life took a turn around that time but I don't regret it, might not have a degree but I moved to a place I'd always wanted to, still make music, and overall have a much better life now than ever before. College be damned.
@@danielacelaya1805 Just remember your happiness and "success" is all about your definition of such and nobody else's. If you want that double-major, go for it with everything you have! If you're not sure that's what you want, take some time and make sure you're not just doing what you "should".
It must be useful, I started in system analysis and now I'm doing mechanical engineering and thinking I should had got into Math or librarianship, but I also like engineering
Stella Pereira Yes, when I first took my standard set of classes (called ‘pre-requisites’, everyone must take these) I enjoyed all my courses but immediately knew that microbiology was my passion. I looked forward to it everyday and so I ended up majoring in that. And I love my career now. I don’t regret it at all! 🥰

Oh INFP how you fall into Undecided so easily...and then get stuck there-- for a Decade-- in a self-made microcosm/prison made comfortable by the perfect balance of great abstract fears of the "Real World" and also wanting to learn about EVERYTHING!
INFJ: "I'll just skim this because I don't need the fine print--I have introverted intuition." That basically sums up how all of my problems begin. Also, LOLed so hard at "the wholesome history major".
as an INTJ I actually didn't have anything planned out. My goalposts changed and I took time to figure out what's best for me. However what happened to me was, I took a field which I believe was most appropriate for me at the time of choosing. I was unsure of the future. As I passed time in college, I fell in love with my field and I now know I made a right decision (mechanical engineering). I won't change my field for anything in this world. It is also a very important part of my identity.
My favourite field when I was 4 yrs old: Architecture My favourite field when I was in high school: Architecture My field today: Architecture.... *but now, it's not my favorite* 😂

I’m an INFJ but I think I’m an ambivert. Like I love being the centre of attention. I like acting and dancing and singing. But at the same time I haven’t seen my friends in two weeks and I’m doing fine. Like friends are only necessary because they help with anxiety. And there are some things you just can’t do by yourself.
*Majored in psychology. Later learned about MBTI and that INFJs love/thrive in the psychology field.* *MY. MIND. WAS. AND. STILL. IS. BLOWN.* And THAT, my friends, explains (in part) my love for and loyalty to the MBTI. 😎
@@poing_poing Yes, I am an INFJ. 😉 About a job, I'm trying to make it in UA-cam teaching psychology application in an entertaining and relatable way; however, that's my choice, not due to lack of opportunities. Psychology takes a lot training to enter stereotypical occupations (psychologist, researcher, psychiatrist, counselor, etc.) but many careers value psych training because many positions involve some amount of understanding clients/customers/personnel. The application is very broad, so it's not the easiest field to find work in but it's certainly not the hardest.

Which is why whatever choices people gave me.. I kept saying yes why not.. It makes me sometimes wonder.. And feel doubt about my final decision

When the INFP said "I still might start crying," I felt that.
Do anything to take you to your goal.*
*And if you’re depressed and suicidal, ask yourself, would you have the guts to end it all? are you going to give it all up? Are you sure? Because as long as you’re alive, hold on to it.*
Because the biggest regret I had was thinking to end it all, by either myself or the world. I let go of my dream. Lost many opportunities. So don’t end up like me. Because now, I’m taking a tougher road to get back to the smooth side.
What was the goal you had for yourself before you were thrown off course by abuse?
I hope you've been doing well and I wish you the best of luck

To you and others with similar experience, I hope that everything will go well and that you find things in life which are meaningful to you.

I'm really struggling to pick a major nor a job that I want to do in the future I'm so indecisive it hurts :(
Same boat. 8 years down the line I still don't know what I'm doing 🤦♀️
I just have no interest in general, and I chose a major I could care less about. I'm only going to college because I have to.
@@KieroSi I think it's quite draining to study a major that you have no kind of interest in just for the money, I did it and regretted it. I'm changing my major this year hope this one goes well 😔
Me too
Well, hello there!

That’s something that always confused me about America. How can you go to university without deciding what your degree is? Like what do you do then? I swear most Americans go to uni at 18 and haven’t even decided what they want to do. It’s seems like a waste of time and money to go to university before you’ve chosen a degree to pursue.
🤔…Something that can get you into international transfer program? Where you can switch to undeclared major. Is there such a thing?
INFP here. Better to change now than suffer a life of a career you won't love. You will always be driven by your heart. Few years of retaking is better than regretting later after graduating.

I'm a Leo/Virgo cusp and an INFJ. Wth??? 😅

And read the syllabus ;))

I’m an ENTP sibling (cousin?).

Then after three years and less than a full year of credits away for my Associate's, I dropped out because I didn't wanna be forced to do one thing for the rest of my life.
Im double majoring with a minor 😂 and I’m ENTP😂😂
@Christian Lopez I could've but school wasn't the only reason I dropped out. Because I'm a completionist, that's why.
Victoria E yep 😅
Weird, I’m an ENTP but I’m also a school tryhard perfectionnist
"Homework?? Is that like... *a requirement* ???"
Oh look! My whole academic experience summed up in a sentence.
as an INTP obsessed with ornithology this video called me out in seven languages
Oh INFP how you fall into Undecided so easily...and then get stuck there-- for a Decade-- in a self-made microcosm/prison made comfortable by the perfect balance of great abstract fears of the "Real World" and also wanting to learn about EVERYTHING!
This comment hurts too much!
Attacked:"
Should I actually just tell my therapist I'm an INFP? could maybe save us some time with me trying to explain what is wrong
This hurt, man..
INFJ: "I'll just skim this because I don't need the fine print--I have introverted intuition." That basically sums up how all of my problems begin.
Also, LOLed so hard at "the wholesome history major".
as an INTJ
I actually didn't have anything planned out.
My favourite field when I was 4 yrs old: Architecture
My favourite field when I was in high school: Architecture
My field today: Architecture....
*but now, it's not my favorite* 😂
This world is cruel XD
Yup
Wow you stuck with it huh!
Funny how that works out.
Oh no!!! Lol, I’m sorry, what happened??? 😅~💖 ESFJ
“Well. Looks like Timmy is going to be majoring in a world of pain...” honestly this poor Timmy guy is getting so much hate from Frank🤣what did he do to you Frank?
"It's a lot of independent study with not a lot of interation with other peop-"
"SIGN ME UP NOW."
Me and the boys on the quad have been passing this vid back and forth all morning like a frisbee. 🙌
😂 Author(s)! Author(s)! 👏🏻👏🏻
As an INFJ, why must you hurt me like that Frank?
me, an ENFJ with anxiety: i want people to listen to me but not everyone cuz then ill freak out
s a m e
True this is so relatable (an ENFJ, Capricorn, Slytherclaw talking... )
@@camilaswain708 I'M ALSO A CAPRICORN ENFJ. Gryffindor tho :/
Later learned about MBTI and that INFJs love/thrive in the psychology field.*
*MY. MIND. WAS. AND. STILL. IS. BLOWN.*
And THAT, my friends, explains (in part) my love for and loyalty to the MBTI. 😎
pls tell me you're an INFJ too and you're getting a good job, I am thinking of taking psych but my parents don't seem convinced
@@Esabelle thank you so much!!
@@poing_poing No problem; happy I could help out a little!! 😉
"I won't let my dreams just be memes"
Well *slaps thigh* that sums up my life expectations.
Intp: something extremely rational
