I love how he's so happy and excited to do what he does. Well, I'm a parsi, and the recipe is great!! To all those who don't have access to banana leaf, a butter paper can also be used to cover the fish as an alternative. Also the white or black pomfret would be much better instead of basa.
InstaBlaster.
Typical unhappy about everything. I don't why you guys always respond so unsatisfied!
Reacting like 😭cry baby. Please remember promise done by ancestors whatever "kissa"
@@amitgupta-nn2nt When did they say they're unhappy about everything? Stop projecting your insecurities towards others.
@@amitgupta-nn2nt First of all before terming someone as "cry baby" open your eyes and read the first 2 lines of my comment. And you better not remind me of the promise done by our ancestors...bec we have been fulfilling that since centuries! And please... you need to improve knowledge of history before commenting about a topic (and grammar).
@@anujpramanik1819 true that! Thanks for supporting:)

I love your cooking.....love your presentation of the show as well your dishes.......
Ur super chef thanx for this no oil recipe make more videos on parsi food
This dish originates with the Koli people of South Gujarat, where the Parsis settled to escape Islamic persecution in what is now Iran.
In Bengal also we have a similar kind of dish we call it paaturi but instead of coriander leaves we use mustard seeds.
Well explained chef
Odisha welcomes you with Macha Patra Poda

You are awesome Varun. Your presentation is outstanding. I have tried your tandoori chicken recipe at home with a nonstick pan and your tricks and tips helped me a lot. Thank you the "Bombay Chief" again...
loved the recipe n techniques u have showed.i have tried ur recipes as well,n they r as good as they seem in ur videos.great cooking!
Great recipe. It turned out fantastic. Incidentally we did not have banana leaves (due to lockdown) so we used baking paper and it turned out as well!!!
It is a very good presentation of Patrani Machi ( a Parsi Prepn) but I’m requesting Mr Varun for written names of Ingredients stage wise added in some convenient place on the screen. It will obviously avoid some confusion in identifying the right things added . It is just for convenience .
I was going by memory ..mum used to make it ..
Happy to say i was spot on verification bh your recipe..

Can u also pls share Mutton dhansaak recipe with brown rice
We north eastern s roast very small fish in banana leaf with chilly and garlic paste. The smell of banana leaf gives all the flavours in the dish.
@gercurried delicious recipe always tastes good
It's lil similar to mach vapa(from bengal)
The fish used and the 'moshla' are both very different, resulting in a different final taste..!
It tastes best with silver pompfret
Wow..nice preparation

lol I saw the patrani macchi on a serie and I thought it was a weird looking tamal, and now I know that the way of cook it is very similar to the tamales mexicanos 😂 seems good btw 👌
im in Australia and getting banana leaves in not easy to get. anh substitute? ???
silver foil .. tried n succeeded !!
Butter paper
Voo u r tooo goood yaar
you miss mint leaves
Very true
From where I can get this stimer cooker
In Bengali dishes, we use to call this dish -vetki macher paturi!
The Bengali version uses a different fish (Bhetki) as well as a different masalas for marinading, thus the final taste is quite different. Btw, there is a Kerala version of this also, for your information...
Eat it with chapati sir
Hats off lov it
Can I marinate it for a few hours?
Can you bake it instead?
I want to see more video recipes from the bombay chef! :)
Thanks for the wonderful comment! :)
ME TOO. VERY WELL RESENTED N SPEAKS GOOD ENGLISH. 👍
SORRY, I MEANT PRESENTED.
☺️Aapne fish cut karake nahi bataya, aunder kese cook huwa hai wo ...?
Lovely food 😋
How do u know when the fish is properly cooked..
Fish takes very little time to cook. In fact about five minutes is enough.
No pudina .?
Can we use the make shift steamer for momos as well?
Pratna Mathur yes
If I want try this in uttar prasesh, so which type of fish used in this recipe
U can use any type
What if I am not ot able to find banana leaf can I use butter paper....pls guide as I am planning to make the recipe in a day or 2 ....🙏🙂
No! there no substitute for banana leaf in this recipe.
We don't get much variety of fish I my place can I use rohu
Can a fillet b substituted by regular pieces with bones, if yes will time vary..?
You could use fish with bones, if you wish so. Steam for the same time, as the bones also would hold some relative heat. In case you still have doubts, steam for another 2 minutes. But remember, the traditional recipe calls for boneless. So inform your guests , in case you serve fish on bone.
+Get Curried
thank you
is there any substitute for banana leaf?I live in the UK and I am doubtful about its availability here.Another thing how will I know that the fish is fully cooked?I love your recipes and tried a few of them. Thank you😃
Since this is very similar to Bengali 'Paturi' recipe,i guess u can use gourd leaves (lau pata) instead of banana leaves
अरबी के पत्ते भी इस्तेमाल कर सकती हैं or any other leaf that is not harmful and big enough to wrap the things
Use butter paper.
in bengali we call it bhetki macher paturi
That uses mustard.
It is hundred times better you use aluminium foil instead of banana leaves for wraping fish
Is it basa fish ?
Yes
how get the fish from now
Mint dalna bhul gye aap
BANANA LEAVES ONLY ?
U can substitute with butter paper
Pl try some macher paturi...
Nice recipie ...But the Chef used the 'Jootha' Spoon ...2:38- 2:50 ...
At no point he's eating from the spoon and even if he is it still doesn't make any difference if he's only making it for himself.
I'll use this masala and pan fry the fish ! dont have any leaf nor sieve
Use butter paper.
Patrani macchi is similar to paturi
Yes, but the fish used and marinade ingredients are very different, resulting in a different taste!
Paturi in bengali
It tastes just like coconut chutney 🙁
Most of the patents are don't know english and here you given the recipe in english ...use some common sense
It's an English channel, what do you expect?
hindi mein bol ya gujarati mein
Why should he when it's an English channel? 😡
