Congrats on buying this place with the intent to preserve it. I passed through in June 2022 on my exodus out of California and reached out to the previous owner to skate it. Very gracious guy, gave me the gate code and only asked that I left a modest donation for future additions to the park. Hope to skate it again some day. I preferred the "flow" area to the cradle area, but it was all great frankly. And my 2¢ is that I like "Desert skate ranch." Its a 50's era home and cowboys and ranching were part of the pop culture at the time.

A spot like that, with a pool in the desert, needs a name like "Golden Oasis" or "Starlight Park". And yes for a bunch of simple platforms on pier blocks with corner posts and a canvas awning. Put some fence or trellis on the highway side. People could pull up to their platform, put up a tent at one end and post up with their camp chairs and cooler.

i bet the milky way can be seen at night in that area away from streeet lights- which is way more amazing than the northern lights

Would you believe me if I say I was watching this video having just gotten back on the board at 47 after 17 years away and asking myself, “why did I ever stop?” 😊 Then I remembered the work, the kids, the mortgage and the broken bones. It’s awesome to be back though - better late than never. Either way, watching these guys skate reminds me of why I did it for so long - good times with good friends.
you can't change the name...it is the desert skate ranch. there's history to this place including a thrasher cover.

I been there to a skate event. Seen punk bands and met bam there. Really chill place. Gonna be a lot of work to fix up the house but would be fun as an Airbnb
I think we’re gonna have to hold off on fixing up the house for a bit but want to get at least a little cabin or 2 with some bathrooms/ shower for people to use in the interim
This is a dream come true! As others have said, fix it up to the bare minimum so you can live there while fixing up the rest! Hope you do progression/build videos of the project! Super cool, congratulations!
Id remodel a bathroom and a bedroom, then you could live out there while the rest of the place gets remodeled

Plans sound great! You need to make it attractive to customers to keep it economically viable. Since in such a hot area, i think real swimming pool could be a great addition to keep the guests cool. Also a bar and concert venue sounds really good.

Maintaining a pool out there is a full time job. Most the ponds are drained due to drought restrictions.

Sick acquisition, can't wait to see how it develops. I moved onto dirt jumping from skating last year so the fact that you're developing that part as well with some dirtbiker buddies sounds awesome. I don't travel much but I'd come visit while there's snow on the ground for sure.

Think about the branding of skatetopia. The name sticks because its simple and descriptive. Your property is in the desert, so its like an oasis. I would name it The Oasis. Like "lets go out to the oasis this weekend"

You guys should definitely add skateable terrain and make it a summer camp (like Woodward but for kids who can’t make it out to Woodward) during the summer and a campsite during the winter
