  • In this video, I consider what might be a "good reason" to carry a knife in the UK (England and Wales, mainly)
    The starting point is that it is an offence under s.139 of the Criminal Justice Act 1988 to carry an article with a blade or point in public unless there is a valid defence or exception. Watch my overview for the valid exemptions and careful restrictions you must follow, together with the broad defences that may apply.
    There were several questions from my previous video, which I provide some guidance on in this video. This is (obviously) not a replacement for formal legal advice on a good reason to carry a knife, but will hopefully help you to understand the principles involved.
