The in-house paint booth is truly a game changer. It has stepped up the attention to detail making for a nice clean finished product. Gone are the days of rushing the paint work because someone else had dropped their spot on the waiting list and forgetting bits and pieces at home in the process.
I could see the difference the doors are a shade darker i have done so much body and paint work i can tell easily... Great for me, really ticks people off when they try selling me something "straight and never wrecked or any bodywork".. I appreciate you guys take the time fix it right most people these days would slapped it together and sold it as new accident free and a lot of people would never know.... Thanks for bringing some honesty and integrity to our line of work guys...
I would just paint it all boys, your paint job is slicker than factory not to mention the slight difference in color. Looking sharp though. I did see the factory orange peel on the stuff you didn't paint

It almost looks the same as the original design. Yeah, some Mercedes enthusiasts will definitely salute this design. But truly, it's a fricking BOX on wheels. Is it really only me who thinks so? Sure, a Merc. But NO THANKS! NOT disregarding your fantastic work guys. You are doing a great job entertaining us and I love it.
It’s pretty amazing the amount of work you get done in one video. You have invested in tools, learned from previous mistakes, and keep the persistent work ethic. This build is growing on me. Before long no one will realize you started with Jeeps.
It's fun stuff watching all this and knowing you started with painting cabinets and doing flooring, then wrenching in Pop's garage, then going to commercial paintshop to paint, then getting the blow-up-doll paintshop to Pop's backyard and now owning your own paintshop.
I'd be doing a compression check on the engine. If oil has got on top of the pistons it could have hydrolocked and bent some conrods. Do a compression check that will give you all the answers you need to if the block is healthy 😊

Also, make sure you guys do a throttle pedal reset. Mercedes uses adaptive modes for transmission shifts based on driving style. Just Google the procedure, it's super simple and quick.
@@zacmartingaming2321 It appears this version has the 9G Tronic transmission with the AMG specific coding that didn't require this. I think I was thinking about the 7G Tronic of previous generations that required resets for most models, even a lot of the AMGs

Hey guys, so invest into a BYK spectrophotometer that way when you purchase a new paint, do a sample spray out once it cures pull the readings on both the paint sample and the original paint and look for the delta E that will indicate your variances, and you can tweak the paint to get the perfect match
Check the wheel sensors, MB has wheel sensors that work simultaneously with the transmission, It could be one in each wheel or front left and rear right wheel. That happened to a ML350 4 matic that I had a couple of years ago. the sensores speak to the transmission if one is bad, you won't get any speed. Great videos as always guys !!!
@@saleen2102 for wet sanding? Shit, even over body filler you want a hand block. DA will give you a wavy shit finish unless it's on all metal. Wet sanding is ALWAYS done by hand.

Have you driven one or even sat in it? I always loved them as well, mainly BEFORE the G63 and before the Kardashians bought them, etc. But when we bought our GLC I looked at one and I really didn't like it. The seating position was horrible and the passe ger compartment is really small. GLC is way better.

Check the compression first i reckon, dont think speed sensor will make it run rough like this. I feel there could be an exhaust leak or intake manifold leak as well. Might have to do a smoke test as well i reckon. Since it rolled, I'll check all plastic hoses and clips etc.. it might have broke a few
Eeehhhh this isnt your hyundai. There are alot of factors to consider when dealing with this condition. Could be cam or crank position sensor could be loss of oil pressure that dosent engage the electronic cam advance. Could be ecm failure. And tons of more possible dependant variables. Your hyundai is reliable and it shows. 😂

Hey guys, just to let you know. May of the German Brands do not allow the engine to revv past 4000RPM so that would not show you lip mode. Also remember that all the driver safety modules need to be happy. The good thing is that your Engine Module is not happy with the speed sensor. Also when you disconnect the battery from the SAM it needs to re adapt which takes about 500km of driving. I would make sure that everything is plugged in before scanning the car again and once they are all plugged in, erase the codes and see what remains. TCM is the transmission and when it's not happy, the car will go into Limpmode.
You guys should put bigger turbos on that truck !!! It really wakes those engines up alot !!!! Those G wagons can be fast as hell with a few upgrades !!!!!

Love the non-metallic paint! But it's most likely in limp mode because of the wheel speed sensor. I have a sprinter and literally just this week had to replace a speed sensor or it was going into limp mode.
Great Job Guys, you might find the clear coat/top coat is to blame, they use a special finishing coat, mainly for the Saudi/ Middle East Vehicles to protect from Sand and Sun.
i have to say the colour match is pretty damn good, but there is a very slight noticeable difference - if you go to around 2:15 and pause, look at the doors and the B pillar, the B pillar looks a tad lighter, perhaps because its narrow and has some bends, maybe being slightly prouder than the doors, but you can see it and at C pillar behind the rear door, nothing critical, and probably being in UV light may well change the colour a fraction perhaps for the better - great job guys, i'd certainly trust you to paint any car of mine, except i kind of enjoy doing it myself
yeah thats a good point but there are also a lot of diffrences from factory to factory and to every paint code you can chose between diffrent varieties of the color
@@benwald I know that matters a lot for other brands, but for the G wagon case, they have been built in the same factory in Austria since the first production one.
I was able to pick up the color difference before it was ever mentioned. The color difference could be because Mercedes uses a black primer which can make the base coat look a bit darker. They keep talking about how expensive the G-Wagon is. There shouldn’t have been no question about repainting everything especially since they have their own paint booth now. I can sort of understand when they had to use someone else’s paint booth. You can definitely see the difference of the fender flares on camera. They need to be repainted for sure!

Yep I think the intakes are where the exhaust manifolds would be on a regular car so with all that wheel damage they might have gotten poked!
Definitely needs new spark plugs and ignition coils and you’re good to go!!

i have to say the colour match is pretty damn good, but there is a very slight noticeable difference - if you go to around 2:15 and pause, look at the doors and the B pillar, the B pillar looks a tad lighter, perhaps because its narrow and has some bends, maybe being slightly prouder than the doors, but you can see it and at C pillar behind the rear door, nothing critical, and probably being in UV light may well change the colour a fraction perhaps for the better - great job guys, i'd certainly trust you to paint any car of mine, except i kind of enjoy doing it myself
Being a painter at an auto plant, hand spraying usually comes out lighter on dark colors versus the robots spraying.
yeah thats a good point but there are also a lot of diffrences from factory to factory and to every paint code you can chose between diffrent varieties of the color
@@benwald I know that matters a lot for other brands, but for the G wagon case, they have been built in the same factory in Austria since the first production one.

I was able to pick up the color difference before it was ever mentioned. The color difference could be because Mercedes uses a black primer which can make the base coat look a bit darker. They keep talking about how expensive the G-Wagon is. There shouldn’t have been no question about repainting everything especially since they have their own paint booth now. I can sort of understand when they had to use someone else’s paint booth. You can definitely see the difference of the fender flares on camera. They need to be repainted for sure!
