@@reason6835 I read the dissenting opinions. The president is obviously an officer of the United States and the judicial branch should enforce the ban, since that's what they get paid to do. It's not complicated. People are trying to make this difficult because they are afraid Trump will publicly mock them (tweet or truth). That's his modus operandi. He's been doing it for years and he's gotten very good at it. If he gets the slightest attack, he immediately attacks back via public means. The American people, the judiciary & Congress should not be afraid of a current or former president. Fear is for weak people.

As Judge Luttig said, insurrection is about trying to subvert the peaceful transfer of power required by our constitution. It is not necessarily about deciding whether a violent demonstration meets the standards to be called an insurrection. Yet with that said, both things happened on January 6th. Flags and shields were also used to bash in windows.

The 14th amendment section III is common sense. Why would anyone trust an individual who took an oath then breaks that oath only to at a later time be willing to take the same oath they did not keep earlier? Contrary to those who worship Trump, the amendment isn't some kind of word salad the opposition has taken out of their backside to hinder a political opponent.🤨
*14th Amendment section III has nothing to do with January 6.* *And Trump had nothing to do with inciting the riot.* *Actually read Section III -- it says "electors of the President"* *It does NOT say that the President is forbidden from taking office.* *This is why SCOTUS voted 9-0 against Colorado.*
@@micheleandhenrycasavant386 *Who is we?* *Read this carefully Casavant, because it says "elector of" not President or Vice President:* Section 3. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability. *Jamie Raskin cannot read any better than those fool judges in Colorado.* *That is why the Supreme Court ruled unanimously, all 9 justices against taking Trump's name off the ballot.*
I think that many people are overlooking the second disqualification stipulated in Section 3: giving "aid and comfort" to the enemies thereof... I'm not a lawyer or constitutional scholar, but it sure seems to me that promising pardons to the people convicted of sedition and other offenses in exchange for their votes falls squarely into the definition of "giving aid and comfort"

Yeah, the 14th doesn't seem so delicate in it's articulation that it requires too much thought.... and unfortunately for Donald J. Trump, he clearly has breached these terms.
There’s several legitimate legal concerns over the Colorado decision. You can read about them in the dissenting opinions of the judges in that case. I think people are dismissing these arguments a little too easily. It’s much more complicated than most of the comments on UA-cam.
According to the United States Constitution, A person accused of a crime must be considered INNOCENT until PROVEN guilty by a court of law. Due process of law and a FAIR trial. WHAT PART OF THAT DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND?
It is quite clear if you read it.

Ask your Democrats.
