Shock absorbers help your vehicle stay stable and safe. Signs of worn out shocks are knocking or bumping noises, loose handling, or a bouncy or bumpy ride. The typical service life of a shock absorber is 50,000 miles, depending on conditions. TRQ shocks and struts are engineered to fit your vehicle perfectly. This video shows you how to install shock absorbers on your 2007-14 Ford Edge.

TRQ I bought a pair of new OEM shocks and installed them in the exact way you showed and they are making a very loud rattling noise along with being loose despite tightening everything correctly? What is my issue? If you could write me back ASAP I'd appreciate it!
I like that you explain the little things and do it all quickly, so I can sort of gather all the info at once and get a whole picture of the replacement process in my head, beforehand, as my A.D.D. brain is hard to listen to/comprehend people who talk and explain things too slowly...
As with TRQ's other videos, this is to the point without the flashy music or other distracting visual effects. Thanks for the video! "Torqued"
Never knew you had to activate the shocks the way you’re doing that. Good to know. I’m in the middle of doing it now watching you getting me through this.
Wow! I can’t believe how easy that is to replace. Great content.
Haynes manual shows 59 ft-lbs for lower bolt/nut on 2010 and earlier models, 166 ft-lbs for 2011 and later models. Upper mounting nuts are 18 ft-lbs for all years (2007-2019).
Thanks for the help You made the job a breeze. My 2009 edge has different size nuts on the bottom of the shock, the outside was 18mm. Also I had to take the wheel off. The bottom bolt has an L bracket attached to the head so I couldn't get a wrench on it. Thanks again.
Could you make a tutorial video about the rear coil springs?
Best info channel!!!
We screwed up on the torque. The bolt on our vehicle 2010 Ford Edge, was different. We failed to notice the difference. When we tried to get it to 166 ft-lbs... Well... I snapped that bolt...
Our assembly was slightly different. The procedure was perfect. But for anyone else make sure your assembly looks the same. Ours wraps the cylinder. They put a smaller bolt in there...
We were able to just pull the trim pieces off with our hand. Hindsight suggests that that was a bad idea and a great way to slice ones fingers. But I dont' do this every day.
Can you do this with the vehicle on the ground?
Is it possible to tighten the top nut on the shocks first then adjust and tighten the bottom nut???
How do you remove the rear springs on a 2007-2010 ford edge/lincoln mkx?
At about 120 ft/lbs my bolt broke. Check torque !
How difficult are the springs to replace?
Do you have one on the springs?
Looks easy, thanks!
Is it the same process with a 2018 edge
If I took my vehicle to the mechanic what would be the average cost to replace it
I had to do it myself🥲.. thanks bro
Really nice video. Thanks!
Thanks for your help
I do not have a 2 post lift. does the car tires need to be raised or jacked to replace the shocks? @trq

+Spicy Hot Thanks for watching our video! 1aau.to/m/Shop-TRQ
It’s not easy. Not when your state salts their roads every winter and all the nuts and bolts under your vehicle gets rusted and seized up so bad that when you use a socket to loosen the bolt the head just gets chewed up. This is my current predicament.
+Alex Sterling Thanks for the feedback! 1aau.to/m/Shop-TRQ
That ford Edge is a little Rust already
It looks like the thick nut on top turned along with the locking nut, which obviously changed its torque specs. Not good. Still, a very useful video. Thank you.
BIG DEAL 1 F.LB! Fool it's a great video
