I think you're right, when i watched it the C-pillars were only one piece and went halfway from the deck lid to roof, so its probably the 1996 Chevy 1500 (Silverados i think were introduced later by Chevy in the late 90's at least in the truck series)

There is a a Hot wheels diecast that looks like a Truck Series truck. He put white out on the cars and drew the paint schemes.
