I cannot tell you how many channels post Minor scale videos and end up just playing pentatonic and not Minor Natural. Well done and I realized I've been playing Minor natural kind of wrong!!!!
This and major scale lessons are gold. Centering scale practice on the root is rosetta stone for linking so many bits and pieces I know in music theory and changing scale mechanics into scale musicality. And yet this is the first time I've seen it presented in this way that makes it all so clear. Excellent, thanks so much!
This is fantastic, it's really fun! I learned the majors and minors both yesterday and today (because I had been practicing the major scale in the different positions, but WITHOUT stressing the root, it was very easy to make this switch- which is much more natural!) So now I realised I can easily do major/minor with each root note. Either on the index, middle or ring finger! I love your enthusiasm and didactic clarity. Very well thought out. Cheers!
I have my major scale down in all keys and all fret positions. Major milestone for me. Starting on the minor scale now and finding interesting connections to the major scale!
Hi ... I completed this lesson after the Major version ... brilliantly presented!! Can you just confirm please, are the forms on this new diagram C-A-G-E-D, top to bottom. Apologies if you mentioned this, I may have missed it. Loving these lessons ... new subscriber!!
Hey Jared! I am a big fan of your method and a keen student. I noticed you are using an e-guitar support. I am looking for one but not getting anywhere. What would you recommend, for someone who practices hours on end? Cheers and keep it up :-)
Are these scale pattern diagrams available somewhere? It'd be really handy to have a printout just until I can memorize those scale shapes. Loving these videos, but I'd really like to be able to print out the diagrams you're showing on screen.
Good timing! I literally just created that exact resource for that exact reason. You can get it here: www.soundguitarlessons.com/scales. Called "The Printable Parent Scales PDF" :)
Yes, but this natural minor scale must be listed on your pdf as the major scale. So, the roots and intervals are not accurate for the natural minor scale. None of the minor scales in your hand out is the natural minor scale. They are the minor blues, harmonic and melodic. It least that is how it looks to me. Or am I mistaken?
This is for the most Advanced and complete knowledge of the entire fret board…..theoretically correct, yes…….for practical playing, No. There are three forms of Minor scales, Ionian, Harmonic and Melodic……..if I were trying to apply all these in a ‘progression’ I would probably only use one form of each.
I will soon get a new funding means, for my studies. The previous bank , did not do well with me, so l disengaged them. I am opening another account with a new financial body to take care of my studies.
I apologize, but this video doesnt work (for me, at least). Are you just explaining what the minor scales are? Why didnt you play the notes slowly and tell us what frets your playing? How in the hell am I supposed to read the graphic on the right?

Hey Jared, do you have any tips on memorizing the notes across the fretboard?
which pattern should a choose to play.....or should i learn all patterns
Do you have a course that you teach scales and how to apply scales to play songs? (Introduction, bridge or ending or solo)
Do you give lessons?

Awsm tq🎉
how do the scales shift to be major and minor?
The first time i ever heard the natural minor scale was hearing Ritchie Blackmore from Deep Purple play it.

Can you do this while riding a unicycle?
Haha, yes I can :)
My problem is usually only remembering them from the minor position. Playing from major for some reason requires more work.
I found a gem YUPI ♥
🙏
@@soundguitar so they're same patterns like major just moved and start on a different note?
How can l get this free notes?.
You can get my scale diagrams by going to www.soundguitarlessons.com/scales
@@soundguitar Please l need the books sir.
Is that a short scale guitar? Looks smaller for some reason.
nope, normal :)
To be fair, I understand the minor scale as the Aeolian mode of the major scale

Sorry bro, this is just what learning guitar is
You talk too much and play too fast
too much blah blah
You're talking a lot. Get to the point
you talked too much rather than showed how to play, easily to get bored. please improve your teaching skills
Gosh too much talking. Half of the video and no demo, just talking.
skip to the demo then it’s not locked lmao
