      Tahnks for the reply. I have notice that the model you provided me with doesnt have a suction cup like the one you have. I dont have a rod on my Lund boat where the model you showed me would work. Please provide me the same model you have (with suction cup) on your boat. Thank you.

    • @murphfishing
      @murphfishing  3 місяці тому

      @@stephvitacru Yep your right the suction one is a go Pro suction mount which honestly after a hour or 2 it falls off. if I remember I added a Ram mini ball on to it, I still use it but I much prefer the Ulanzzi which mostly I can clamp on anywhere including onto the cupholder. cheers

    Why Lund and not a saltwater boat? Like a fiberglass center console or walk thru? Also that tube trailer will be rotted right out in no time in salt water. Galvanized or aluminum is what you need.

    • @murphfishing
      @murphfishing  7 місяців тому

      Good question. Why lund, price, and comfort. I fished Alaska for years, and all boats even on saltwater were aluminum, not an issue as long as you freshwater washdown after use which you should do even with fiberglass. Center consoles to me are grossly overpriced and very uncomfortable. Very difficult to add downriggers, rigging etc, and zero protection from the weather. Yep, I would have gone with a galvanized or aluminum trailer but that's what came with the deal. It was the end-of-season deal. But I freshwater wash everything after each use and the only rust is on the trailer light bolts which I treat with anti-rust compound but the rest of the trailer is holding up extremely well better than I expected. 7000 miles this year but if I get 10 years out of it I will be happy. Cheers

    Great Video! Can I ask where you put the electronics for the Garmin reactor 40 kicker AP? I'm currently rigging the exact same boat and trying the plan the reactor module locations.

      Hi Todd , I keep meaning to upload the Garmin Reactor 40 video, hopefully soon. The ECU is mounted under the livewell as I had moved the starter battery to the port side. There is one cable I had to get an extension for (its the one with the 2 pigtale wires which you don't need. One is for an external buzzer and the other is a shadow wire for more complex steering disconnect)The EAC (2 ports NMEA and Steering bus) is mounted in the front rod locker.BTW not sure if you have ordered yours yet but you don't need the Stainless steel tilt tube as most new kickers have them anyway. We moved the stereo unit over to the right (not easy) but the screen fits nicely in its place. I will post some pics on the facebook page murphfishing (that's our old name lol) the link is on the channel page. cheers

      Also we went with the tiller version and you will need an 8" jackplate to stop the tiller handle from hitting the back inner transom. If you go with a remote steering version you would have to remove the steering arm from the main engine every time you needed to use it( that would be a pain) lastly with the trolling baterires on the port side with the kicker you are going to get a very annoying boat tilt to port even with a skinny mate ( very rare these days...lol) so we will be installing a Zipwake system soon to auto balance the boat. The new integrated version which hooks up to the Garmin 8612 with the Mini controller and then she will be an extremely comfortable boat. Cheers

      @@murphfishingThanks for the response. My boat came without a radio, so I won't have to move anything and it looks like the screen will fit pretty nicely.

      @@murphfishing Can you let me know what brand setback plate you're using? I've got a Suzuki 9.9 tiller handle kicker I'm planning to use, and I'm sure I will need to do the same. I've got the starting battery in the original location under the livewell and there should be plenty of room in there for the ECU as well. My two trolling motor batteries are split between the console's (1 under port and 1 under starboard). I'm pretty balanced now, but I'm sure that will become skewed when I mount the kicker. I may try to put both trolling batteries under the starboard console, but not against trim tabs or zip wake if needed. I've had them in the past and are very nice in many different conditions. Thanks for your input!
