      I know what you mean. But sadly the number of people whose brains have been taught the literature in such a way as to make that possible is not growing like it did when dj driven radio was the dominant way of teaching.

    I don't know what it is about your voice and how you chose to do your sound for this song but it's seriously captivating. It has a familiar sound of some kind of older music I know I've heard before but can't quite remember. It's like what was lost was found here. I would buy a whole album of this style of voice.

    • @GreNadeMusicNL

      The (lack of) production is one of my favourite things about vulf. Despite that it still sounds amazing on a nice speaker system

    • @DrBackBeat
      @DrBackBeat 2 роки тому

      Thing is, 'production' is far from absent with Vulf(peck). They avoid cutting, sampling, replacing and stuff, but the sound, composition, mixing/mastering, all that stuff is done quite meticulously. But I think it takes great skill to make it sound so 'casual' and unproduced. In a way it's like the greatest musicians, they make what the do look easy while it's far from easy.

      I saw Vulfpeck in Berlin, Germany a significant while ago. With the stupid low price they charged and the fact that merch was quickly out of stock I really wonder how the EU tour turned out for them financially. Tours are expensive af.
      But I bet if they did a tour now, went big and brought enough merchandise, they'd crush it. Though if I Deantown is not in the set, I'll set fire to something.

    Some time ago, I've made the very hard decision I will no longer strive&work to one day be a musician who "plays just what I feel" (and also invests a lot of work/$€£ into their calling) bc I want to support a family one day and I don't believe I can make that happen on a salary I can't be sure of. So I'm generally feeling a little dejected and melancholic about the path through life I've chosen and then I see stuff like this and I'm like "Why the F*** did I give up on my dreams?". I identify with this on such a deep level and I don't know how I could even explain it to anyone, except show them the joy this inspires and say "I wanna make ppl happy, just like they do". Yea, the song is beautiful alright.
