MacCodrum 's na ròin

The tradition that in North Uist, Outer Hebrides, that people named MacCodrum are descended from a seal woman or selkie, mermaid. The woman's skin is stolen from her and she unwittingly marries the perpetrator and has children. She finally escapes back to the sea having discovered her hidden skin.
