A traditional tale from North Uist about a horse fathered by a water-horse (kelpie) in Ronay, who got the better of a nasty Lord's greyhound in a race in Baile Sear.

The tradition that in North Uist, Outer Hebrides, that people named MacCodrum are descended from a seal woman or selkie, mermaid. The woman's skin is stolen from her and she unwittingly marries the perpetrator and has children. She finally escapes back to the sea having discovered her hidden skin.

An ancient heroic tale, which links Ireland and Scotland, and was handed down generations through oral history in Uist until the mid-1900s.

How the fairies built the causeway across Loch Bì in South Uist, as told to me by my dad from North Uist. There are hundreds of different version of this tale, but I stick with this one!
