Happy Sunday everyone, Today's episode took longer than expected to get ready to release. A lot of activity happening here. Our question is why do you watch our channel? Are we are travel vlog in your eyes or something more?
Oh I watch you guys for so many reasons: Travel yes definitely! I love seeing you explore europe, it's great research for me for when we travel.. but I love the random places you see, I prefere it not to be all the touristy highlights:) In my mind you are Travellers because you are so curious and interested in cultures, food, people where as turist are more focussed on attractions and sun. What set's you apart are traveling as a family, showing how it practically works, and the long term aspect, so definitly also a Lifestyle channel. I've been a work camper for two years, and now am transitioning to being a full time traveler. I like the term World Towning, the world is your town, and you are out exploring it. My first "grand Adventure" starts on April 10th. 90 days in Europe starting with the Camino Frances, then down through Portugal, Morraco and Spain, then finally through turkey. You give inspiration and ideas, plus your just having too much fun!

Personally guys, I can't believe no one in the world of cabledom, has not picked you up for a show contract! Your vlog is everything a contemporary "travel show should be. How sweet Naomi! There have been some knocks on our doors. I would love to have a National Geographic or Travel Channel show. Think Anthony Bourdain (RIP) meets culture, not just food. Our family traveling the world immersing with locals and culture. Basically our vlog, but with less creative control and less engagement with our audience which we would not like. Ok, so I guess we are best staying right here with all of you and just growing this community with more like-hearted folks.

It is beautiful where you are right now and definitely to have your own creative control and the engagement is just wonderful. 10K subscribers already, that's pretty decent. Just keep in mind that UA-cam is more popular now than TV channels anyway...people want to see the real deal, not some packaged program.

Thanks Zue! Morocco was so special to us. On Friday we will launch our first group trip to Morocco, can't wait!!! We have only just begun Turkey and we clearly don't have as much time here as Morocco, but we plan on doing it up!!! So far it has been amazing.
"NAVIGATE THE WORLD WITH US". For me, that pretty much sums up your air, land, and sea adventures teaching and learning, as a family of adventurers. Anyone can go to the most visited sites. It's the off the cuff exploration and spiritually moving episodes I enjoy the most. Excellent sweeping aerial views with a matching soundtrack (Camino) and a lesson to be learned or shared...that'll keep me coming back for more!🙏
Thanks Noone! You get us! Someone suggested the other day that we need to stick to a certain style of travel because our channel is so good and should be bigger, but we need to be more niche. And we said, but that is not our life! We travel where our hearts want to go and what they want to do. And, if that means 44 days of daily vlogs of hiking then we do it. If it means RV, backpacking or boating, then we do it. We are a WorldTowning vlog channel and that does not mean we will always be predictable or consistent. I am so glad you see this because this is what we are trying to share. Life does not always have to be the same, routine or in the direction that will yield the most $$$$. As long as you are happy, have friends, community, a roof and food what more could you want. Big kiss!

I think worldtowning could also be named "Wonders snapshot and journaling". To a certain extent it seems to me to folow the same philosophy described by an artist, naturalist and educator called John Muir Laws. This amazing guy has a blog, youtube videos and wrot and illustrated a book titled "the Laws Guide to Nature Drawing and Journaling".
I think, Avalon will love this beautiful book.

I call you "World Adventurers" off the beaten path...love it.....I am 66 years young and so wish I did this years ago....you do great videos....I did the normal life stuff and really have not travelled overseas until I was 60, BUT I do hiking and biking trips...want to go back and redo Croatia before it really gets discovered by Americans. I like off the beaten kind of trips myself..be with the locals, like you guys...for example, had dinner with a family in BRAC in their home (biking trip) and really got to see their side of things...You can't do that on a 'normal' vacation.....

Hi, it's me again. While watching episode 83 where you're suffering with blisters, I offer the best tip of all time. You need to get yourselves liner socks. The ones I use are Bridgedale base layer coolmax socks, the ones in light grey with black zones and are about £15 for a pack of 2 pairs. They are a snug fit on your feet so that any friction is between your liner and regular socks. I've been using them for years and have never had a blister since! They also last FOREVER! Mine are about 10 years old and still going strong.
I nearly forgot to mention that as they're so thin, they don't affect your shoe/boot size.

An interesting question, why do I watch you. I think it is probably three reasons. First, you are living your life on your terms. I think that is pretty rare these days and it’s fun to watch. Second even though we are in similar times in our lives (I have three kids and my youngest is Avalon’s age) but your life is very different from mine. It is kind of fun to see another way of living from what I experience day to day. Finally, you just seem like nice folks. If you were jerks I don’t think I would have sent the last few months working my way through your old vlogs. I not sure what kind of vlog you would call that but it’s definitely enjoyable. Actually... I watch you as a part of people confronting different realities from the same object (countries) I mean every one have its own perspective about the same stuff so sharing the 4 points of view about the same experiences makes this vlog very interesting (specially the combo Jess and CNN logo's contributions all over) as the special point of view of Avalon and will of course. I'm more with the Jess POV due the sensations about the experiences makes the point. Maybe you aren't a Travel Vlog, but you are a Traveling Vlog, a vlog that travels opposed to a vlog about travel. I watch you guys partially for the destinations, I love travel, but I also find your way of life very interesting as opposed to my stationary life. I enjoy seeing how you all experience life, both the adventures, the different cultures, and the everyday.

I would say you are a life vlog as in you give us a glimpse into your life (sort of like the Truman show without the creepiness) hahahahah. There are just a couple of people like you on UA-cam that I have found that do it as well as you do. I watch to step outside my own life and to give myself ideas on what I can do with my own children even though they are older now. As a person who has traveled with my three children together and separated it reminds me of those moments.

Hi All 🖐 I have sooo much catching up to do I cannot believe you were in Malta and Cyprus.....love both of those beautiful places..... have been to Cyprus aiya napa, paphos, protaras, touring the island by bus twice and did an all inclusive day trip to Israel for 100€ from Larnaca....... the flight was 30mins... spent 16hours touring Israel.....well worth the money....can't wait to revisit......yes I have noticed that in Greece they are growing bananas and aloes on a grand scale....never thought growing bananas was possible in the med....lol
We had such a short visit, can't wait to go back again one day and do it better. The bananas were fabulous!!!Wow, that is a great deal.

Ha, that is definitely true! Love it.
Why do I watch? To broaden my horizons about how a life can be lived differently I think. Almost all the media we see is about people staying in one place and when there is a portrayal of travel it's the international jet set rather than anything close to attainable or normal so your videos are quite unique.
I guess maybe "travel vlog" puts too much emphasis on moving rather than what you actually do. How about "mobile life vlog"?
Whatever it is, keep doing it, it helps winter go by!
Oh boy. I know Dorpie. Our plan has always been to show that "normal" people who are not rich can WorldTown also. It is not brain surgery. It just takes commitment, some grit, some compromises and a big will (not to be confused with my Will) to make it happen. I think we are unique in this niche and my big dream is (between you and I) that WorldTowning becomes a more used word for the way people choose to travel. Thanks for being part of our community. We hate travel traps! Too much $$$ and not enough connection. Just like anyone else we do sometimes get caught in the, especially if it is something we really want to see. However, we do our best to stay away from them. We find as a family we really get cranky and don't like them. Thanks for your thoughts.

Regarding your question: I think the real community you have on here is something special that I don't think exists in the same way on other channels.
People tune in because they are genuinely interested in how you are getting on and are exited for you to have more adventures.
Things like group adventure in Morocco you are planning sound amazing and I think are a really great idea, somewhat above my price-point I suspect but awesome for anyone who can afford it!
