something that I think is best when it comes to talking to people, is don't forget its your day and you want to talk to everyone, but after everyone eats and people are still sitting at the tables before dancing. then go and talk to table by table and whoever you don't get to before everyone starts dancing, slowly throughout the night make it to them. you don't want to get caught up in making sure you talk to everyone instead of focusing on each other and the fact that you both got married
Maybe you could make little name tags that look like their names are engraved in wood. That would be so cute!
For on the tables, not like actual name tags 😂
Not my business, but maybe you should edit out location and details of the wedding details, for your privacy and safety. (Suggestion)
During your reception take a moment just you and Dan at your table to just sit and look around the room at all your guests and realize that everyone is there for you and that it’s once in a lifetime. Just appreciated everyone who showed up just for you and enjoy it !

Something I loved at my sister’s wedding: the DJ gave my sister and her fiancé a questionnaire before the big day with questions like: how’d you meet, what was your first date, when did you know you loved each other, how’d he propose, etc and then throughout the dinner/reception, the DJ shared those stories and it was fun since most people end up asking those questions anyways and it was cool to hear their story on their big night! 💘
Also: at the cocktail hour, in addition to displaying their favorite pictures in frames, they also had a framed picture from each of their parent’s weddings as well as grandparent’s which was fun to see!

I've worked as a server in wedding catering for three years now and a cute idea I learned was having a kids table with coloring books and colored pencils ect. It keeps the younger children entertained if you have a few little ones coming to your wedding. Congrats to you two! Your wedding sounds so magical!

One of the weddings I attended, they used the mason jars with the fairy lights, but inside, they had printed out pictures of the bride and groom throughout their whole relationship, and they placed them inside the mason jars. So each jar had a different picture of the bride and groom. They also had this large tree in the yard where they hung old antique picture frames and mason jars with lights in them, and then they had Christmas lights throughout the branches.
I did baby's breath for my bridesmaids bouquets and for my centerpeices!! It was stunning! I did and outdoor wedding in the mountains. I'm in Utah to the mountains here during fall are breath taking, so I went simple with the decor 😋
One idea you might like.. which I saw at a wedding recently was to have to no photos taken during the actual ceremony as people start to just whip them out to take heaps of pics and not really engage the actual ceremony taking place.. i mean take photos afterwards for sure but it’s sometimes nice to actually be present, also for the photographer to you don’t wanna have heaps of pictures with people taking photos with there phone in your wedding photos. But totally up to you guys.

to add a little something to your centrepieces that goes with the invitations could be spraying a few leaves and pine cones in gold so it adds a little fairy tale vibe. Would look especially cute if you use the warm gold coloured fairy lights too rather than the blue-white coloured ones!
Have you guys thought about having baby’s breath (the flower)? It’s very simple but I feel it would go great in the mason jars! Can’t wait to see it all come together 👰🏼👦🏻💍 xxx
Becky King I did that for my wedding! Then had candles in smaller mason jars!
That's what I did to! I had long wooden harvest tables with baby's breath down the centre in different style Mason jars.
Put water and floating candles in the mason jars for the center pieces

I'm a day of planner so just a couple of suggestions. I think burlap around the glasses with twine they have green or cream colors. pinecones is perfect maybe add acorns you can buy them if you can't find them. Go on Pinterest search woodsy or rustic weddings. You will get a ton of ideas. For the favors I did a smores ingredients in a small clear bag with a note tied with twine that said sending you home with smore love. It's on Pinterest also under rustic wedding favors. Hope this helps. I tend to think outside the box. Details are a very important part.

I’ve been to a wedding lately and they had a photo booth. I loved the idea because sometime you can’t take pictures with every single one of the guest so that’s a nice way to get a lot of group pictures. 😍 I’m literally so excited for your wedding 🎉 love you guys 💕
Definitely think music is really important! Would recommend getting a band but otherwise make sure the DJ plays some classics that everyone knows and can sing and dance along to! My aunt's wedding had a really good band and my whole family danced and it was so much fun! Definitely my favourite thing from the wedding!

I think a good idea would be to hang or have fairy lights on the windows or on the ceiling, I think it would look amazing for the wedding especially when the sun goes down.

I also really like the idea of laying the fairy lights around the mason jars like within the "greenery". I think that would be super cute. either way, I'm really excited for it to all come together!!!

Are you doing a first look? I was worried to at first, but now I highly recommend it - it gave us so much more time with friends and family at cocktail hour, since we took most of our pictures before the ceremony! And those conversations with people are the things you remember most after the wedding day.

i love this idea of a forest wedding! i just helped planed my sisters wedding which was in june and it was inside in a hall. but i would say make sure that you have food for the bridal party during the day and make sure that you just live in the moment and enjoy it!
I know this is something some people dont like, but my husband and i decided to take pictures before the ceremony, we made a moment out of our first look at each other so it would still be special and then we took our pictures. This was amazing because we didnt have to worry about this after the ceremony and we got to spend alot more time with our guests😊 just a suggestion😉

Hey :) I went to a wedding this summer and there was a photographer taking pictures of the guests with a polaroid camera and then the guests would glue their pictures in the « livre d’or » I don’t know whats the english word for it but it ‘s a book in which the guests can write wishes and comments to the bride and groom.. I thought it was a good idea so you can have a picture attached to the comments instead of just a signature :)
I’ve been to a lot and I’m not even 18 so I recommend having enough space between tables because if the reception has children they may run every where and will give the reception a bigger feel :)
I’m so happy for you two! There’s one thing that popped into my head straight away though.. whenever I went to a wedding and the bride and the groom went out to get their pictures taken most of their guests got bored. Especially if you have lots of guests who don’t know each other. This, by the way, is just my personal experience. I’m not saying this is what happens at every wedding 😅 So one wedding my mum was asked to kinda do little games to keep everyone entertained. This is something your bridesmaids could organise for example 😊 So what she did was let every guest pick a piece of paper with a number written on it. During the time you guys are taking your pictures each guest will get into a separate room where they’d paint a little square on a canvas. Preferably one big picture made out of little squares so that you’ll have a handmade gift from all of your guests at your wedding. My mum chose Micky and Minnie Mouse at their wedding. If you have any questions feel free to contact me ☺️ I also apologise in advance if I haven’t explained stuff clearly, I’m sick and feeling very dizzy but I still wanted to share this with you 🤧❤️👰🏼🤵🏻

Tip 1
I would suggest taking dance lessons for your wedding. This last September my husband and I had our wedding and we took lessons for the Waltz & the Swing. We went for close to a year and on the day of surprised our guests with 2 dance performances during the wedding. It was so much fun.
Tip 2
I would think about things for your guests to do during the down periods. People get bored waiting around for the bride and groom while they’re taking pictures and what-not.
Also have you thought about hiring a performance? For example: my parents surprised us with a fire show act and everyone loved it. Cool ,unique things like that make your wedding really stand out.

Have 3 mason jars on the centrepiece. Large medium and small.
Many couples nowadays choose to take the photos before the cermon, and i think that can be smart, because the guest dont have to wait and you dont have to feel stressed. And it can be kind of nice seeing eachother before the cermony alone. Many people do that and they have said that it was a very special moment for them.
The RSVP's and just the whole aesthetic of the wedding is gonna be sooooooo beautiful! 😍😍 you have amazing taste!
If you want to give the centerpiece a bit more of a woodsy feel, instead of just fairy lights there are actually lights that are small white fabric roses. I would love to send you a picture of what I’m referring to. My father in law got them for my wedding and we wrapped them up around the candelabras. I’ll try to tag you in a picture to show you on insta !

Congratulations! My suggestion would maybe have a pre-waiting room for the bride. In Korean wedding, bride sits in the beautifully decorated waiting room, maybe an hour before, so that friends and family of the bride come to see the bride and congratulate her and take pictures before the actual ceremony. I know some people don’t prefer that because seeing the bride and the dress should be surprise, but the reason behind this is that for you to spend a bit of dedicated time with your friends and family before you get all busy with the actual wedding.
Also, I agree with a comment below that to have a dedicated person to coordinated everything on the date. It would be a professional, a friend, a family member, but that person should not be part of the wedding ceremony. You can just lay your whole thoughts on what your wedding day and your set up for the wedding should be to that dedicated person so that he/she would know everything in your mind. Then your focus on that day is just to be a beautiful bride and not worry about anything else. My wedding did not turned out how I wanted to be, especially with the decorations and time keeping. I hope your planning for the wedding goes all smooth for you.
I’ve never been to a wedding but some ideas are like a address book for people who arrive, can leave their name and a message! Just a lil sentimental keepsake. And a photo booth idk if they do this but having props like alex and Daniels wedding and the date for pictures
Ahh this is so exciting Alex! I adore your aesthetic on the prints. I'm also in the middle of planning my wedding so this was so helpful to see - I will probably check out the Minted designs. I would love to see more videos about the process of planning everything since I'm trying to also figure everything out for my wedding :)
Just had my wedding last March 2017!! So I am so happy for you two and excited to see your big day it will be absolutely spectacular!! The centerpieces you guys are having are kind of what I had!! Very smart idea for short centerpieces I did the wood slab with mason jars and I did candles inside the jars but the fairy lights will be perfect!! And yes I would say do the pine cones and leaves as well it ties everything together so perfectly especially that first moment you guys will walk into your reception and see how perfect it is put together and everyone with eyes on you. It's the most magical moment!! Cannot wait to see more videos and planning!! PS... Pinterest gave me sooo many ideas haha :)
