For anyone saying Nicole is lying about being the only one singing she is not! I went to school for music and was lucky enough to be part of a program where i was able to intern at music studios long story short we had a session booked for a new girl group (no idea who they were was first album) so while waiting for a girl group to show one of them shows up and everyone is sitting and talking and waiting for the other girls until one of the producers says “what time will the other girls be here” and nicole said “oh it’s just me” nicole was the only Doll present in the recording studio when these songs were recorded.
I believe in small print on the back of their printed debut album it says that all vocals are performed by Nicole
@@spacecowgirl143 You might want to know that the music industry has ALWAYS been bad about paying people and crediting people for their work which is why this person feels the need to say it. Tons of people get credit for writing when they didn't do anything but sit there high and say a few words. It has always been an issue.

See how your brain tricked you into thinking they all sing because sometimes when live some sing? But who has plugged in mics??? lol a trick in the music industry is to have a mic and not play the feed of the backup people. Only the lead or the track. We don't know the extent unless we are there because I have learned that some people are actually making money as great karaoke artists.....
Nicole does sing 95% of the songs. Melody got some riffs and small harmonies. Carmit got a small amount of adlibs on the first album.
One of the Dolls - Kimberly actually spoke about the private performances on her Podcast - the Fame Game. She talked about how they had to do a private show for a Russian billionaire (or something like that. It’s being a few months since I heard it) and that they all felt so awkward doing them
Performers perform for billionaires all of the time. But the money goes to them. Not some weird lady like Robin Antin who lives beyond her means.
If i was a performer i wouldnt mind. I loved dancing, but ya if it became like a prostitution thing thats unacceptable, unless the billionares are hot and not creepy lmaoo

BJ! I happened to direct message Kaya on Instagram 2 years ago about something completely unrelated to PCD. She responded within a few minutes, was really sweet & we chatted for a bit. I feel like she’d probably be open to speaking with you if you were to reach out to her! I mean it’s worth a shot at least 🤷🏼♀️ Perhaps she could give you some more insight about the inner workings of PCD. I would love to see another video on this subject & finding out more about her allegations against the group could be quite interesting! Kaya Jones is an absolutely awful person who has a track record of lying for personal gain (pretending to be Native American, exaggerating her role in the Dolls, making up relationships with her former bandmates that never existed, etc.) so I understand why BJ wouldn't want anything to do with her. Miss Jones only cares about freedom when it's about her.

It was my 1st night working the HOB for one of their shows..got there during sound check & I remember walking across the dance floor as they were singing don'tcha & couldn't resist...I rolled back & dipped it to the floor...😂.. Nicole cheering me on! That was only about 20 years ago..now it takes me 5 minutes to warm my joints up so I can walk to the kitchen in the mornin...good memories tho!

@bellabear653 how do u think people in power achieve that? Education system is messed up in America. Why is that? It is easier to control people who are not given proper education. Any human can inculcate critical thinking skills through proper education but most of the media consumers in America Ive noticed lack it. And it is quire evident from the way the movies or any media nowadays spoon feeds concepts or plotlines on a silver platter instead of letting them fill the gaps or make deductions. You know what used to encourage me to practice this is reading novels. Reading books develops it. I think what America needs is to get a better education system. But I don't think that is possible without radical change anymore since the wealthy few of the country have control everywhere.

I can corroborate the story, at least for one member, as my ex worked with her and knew her. He stated she had to sleep with all these old producers/ executives to get her music out, and it was a shame because she was a phenomenal singer.

I think in a way, Nicole took the bullet for this. As probably the most successful member with more resources, she can challenge robin and I doubt the other girls would.
Nicole realized she WAS the singer, she was the talent, not saying she was the ONLY talent bc all the girls were EXTREMELY talented it was just the way that Robyn set PCD up. Nicole was doing all the work & Robin was taking all the money. At this point, Nicole is more of the face of PCD then Robyn & now Robyn is MAD that Nicole has leverage & using it.
I don’t like robin but she didn’t set it up like that. Nicole wasn’t even lead singer to begin with but the execs loved Nicole more. Robin said she fought to get melody to sing more.

The private performance client list seems to be mostly European entertainment/PR agencies which makes sense bc Nicole is much bigger as a solo act in Europe than in the States. Jorge Inglesias has a label with RedOne (produced her first solo album). I actually know about a charity event she performed at for Nick Ede, I went on a date with a guy that worked at the event and he said she knew almost everyone there. Apparently her fees are comfortably in the 6-digits which might be higher than you think but not shocking, she does own a 8.5M house after all...

One potential messed up thing about this is, if Robin legit was just trying to come up with a group of dancers to back up Nicole and have that be the group, I bet she could've been honest about what she was looking for and plenty of performers who'd be more interested in a role like that than a singing role woulda been happy to step up without resentment (had that been the only issue with the group of course)

The truth is most famous women are still less powerful than a billionaire or upper end millionaire. A lower level millionaire would be less likely to get away with that. Christina Applegate and Robyn were the original creators at The Viper Room. They auditioned for Johnny Depp. This was before the commercial PCD. There are very interesting docs on this that center around The Viper Room…

I think if Nicole took ownership of the brand then the reunion would probably go ahead.
The way they all were together during the reunion promo seemed really genuine and so different from back in the 2000’s. However I think Carmit has put her foot in it during a podcast regarding Nicole.

And yes, Nicole lies, had lots of videos of others dolls in the studio recording songs, also she is credited not only as lead singer, but executive producer on Doll Domination, she could let the others dolls to sing if she wanted. The same with React.
The other dolls recording is AFTER Nicole already finished the songs... for example, "When I Grow Up" was initially Nicole's song... then for the music video they re-recorded to feature other dolls singing the chorus and the "ha ha ha". I think what Nicole was saying was that the project started with her, and her only with the producers. The dolls were added AFTER. Get it?

Nicole lies? Nicole was the one who recorded all the songs first and then help to get the other Dolls added to the songs before release. Nicole has a producer credit on Doll Domination because all those Melody and Jessica vocals added to Nicole's demos were thanks to Nicole. There's literally a video of Nicole vocal coaching the other Dolls in studio to record the video/single version of When I Grow Up where they all sing
The demo version of REACT that leaked is just Nicole, with the other dolls added into the official released. The songs still a fave of mine.

lawyer here. this is a nitpick but i've seen LOTS of sloppy contracts, drafted by lawyers, where they capitalize random things that aren't defined terms. normally they forget what specific term was defined (ex. defined term is Tenant but they say Lessee or something) or they just forget to define the term in the first place lol

Charlie’s Angels was the launch for them and then there was tonnes of rumours since the early 2000’s that the PCD was a burlesque dance group that were very well known and then they were all paid to basically just dance while Nicole belted out the music so if anything this is just confirmation for me personally.

People are detached in the comments, initially Carmit Melody and Kaya Jones were supposed to support and sing with Nicole. Nicole was a recruit from the group Eden Crush, which crashed due to Nicole's toxic behavior. She wanted to be a solo artist and become an industry diva, but decided to sign with the Pussycat Dolls to revive her career. Tensions quickly arose during the recording of the first album, and Kaya left the group before the album launch. Soon after, Nicole's manager, Rob, decided to focus only on Nicole. The PCD album was a success, and Jessica, Ashley, and Kim were just dancers in the group for the PCD brand. However, they were professionals and graduates of artistic schools, capable of singing and dancing. They just couldn't gain experience in Nicole's shadow.
In reality, Ashley, Carmit, Jessica, Kimberly sang in the PCD cabaret before the group's formation. Here's the missing piece: PCD fans changed the group's direction. They loved the group, and each fan had their favorite Pussycat Doll. When tensions started appearing at the end of the PCD album, the label contract was not renewed. Carmit left the group to pursue personal projects because she saw that Nicole's manager was pushing her into a solo career without caring about the other dolls. It was the manager's first mistake, neglecting the other girls who worked just as hard as Nicole (training, dancing, rehearsing, traveling without being able to sing more) and earning almost nothing. It was shameful for such a profitable group; the girls earned only $15,000 per month compared to Nicole.
Before the launch of Doll Domination, Nicole released her solo album, which was a critical flop, putting her in her place and damaging her ego in the USA. People hated her character and diva attitude. Rumor has it that she spoke badly to label executives and is blacklisted in the US. Jessica Sutta released a solo song, "White Lies," which was a resounding and unexpected success, questioning the strategy put in place for Nicole.
During Doll Domination, Rob decided to push his strategy even further on Nicole, making the other girls even less credible, portraying them as mere backup dancers. All efforts to have them sing on certain songs were removed from the Doll Domination album (Top of the World, Painted Windows, etc.). Melody, the last recruit and non-dancer, the youngest of the group, struggled to dance more like the other girls and stopped singing. She developed a deep trauma, losing confidence in herself day by day. The girls were transformed by marketing; Jessica became a redhead to replace Carmit, and Kim had to cut her hair short.
Doll Domination was launched; the initial moments went well, but as time passed, tensions escalated, making the group's life very toxic due to the lack of respect and consideration for Jessica, Ashley, Kimberly, and Melody within the group. Keep in mind that during this period, album promotion was intense and exhausting for the girls. Rob decided to put Nicole forward once again and released her solo single "Hush Hush" featuring the Pussycat Dolls, just like in "Jai Ho" too. The group exploded, and the girls rebelled in anger against Nicole's lack of recognition. The girls were considered replaceable pawns despite having as much fame as Nicole among the fans; they were celebrities too, even if the label didn't see it that way. The strength of the Pussycat Dolls, especially Melody, Carmit, Jessica, Ashley, and Kim, lies in the fans. The fans prefer the dolls over Nicole. Never forget this: Nicole and Robin will never win the hearts and respect of the fans. All the love from the fans goes to Mel, Carmit, Jess, Ashley, and Kim. These girls have been mistreated by Robin, Rob, and Nicole for all these years, even though the group could have had long-term success if the label had met the fans' expectations, allowing the girls to take turns singing while keeping Nicole as the leader. But Nicole refused any compromise.
When Jessica broke a rib during the Australian tour, the label simply abandoned her on the spot with a return ticket, even though she had no home at the time. A friend had to host her for several weeks so she could recover.
The girls leave the group, leaving Nicole's ego alone. Nicole, feeling offended, receives support from Robin against the departed members. They decide to replace Jess, Ash, Kim, and Mel with unknown dancers, thinking that the group can only function if Nicole leads. However, this turns out to be false. The fan community is enraged by the new girls and starts to criticize and insult Nicole and Robin. The wave of hatred is so overwhelming that it forces Robin and Nicole to abandon the project of replacing the girls who hold a significant place in the fans' hearts.
This incident highlights that the label consistently neglected the girls, thinking they were unimportant and replaceable pawns. This assumption proves false as the fans' love has preserved and empowered Jessica, Ashley, Kimberly, Melody, and Carmit. Nicole and Robin eventually give up on this deception and decide to simply disband the group. The Pussycat Dolls are officially disbanded in 2011.

Kaya’s allegations were meant to disparage Robin, but she really hurt the remaining PCDs. They were all getting ready to reunite and then calling the girls all pros. If that is true, then Kaya was a pro too. She should have to wear that too.
