- Godolphin Stable’s Essential Quality accomplished everything that could be achieved in 2020, winning a pair of Grade 1s, including the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile, en route to an Eclipse Award as champion 2-year-old. The Tapit colt made an even bolder statement on Saturday, taking charge out of the final turn and holding off the determined pacesetter Hot Rod Charlie for a 1 1/4-length win in the 153rd running of the Grade 1, $1.5 million Belmont Stakes presented by NYRA Bets at Belmont Park.

He was run into the ground by unnecessarily being taken to the front bad jockey tactics

Hit the trifecta here. Having said that wonderful stretch duel by the top two. A very good race!
Bad ride for Hot Rod unnecessarily taken to the front early on and given a hard ride.
What a fantastic race. EQ and HRC put their stamp on that one. One we'll be able to rewatch, remember and enjoy for years.
True, although I must say, it was probably one of them most formful races in history- everyone performed exactly how they were expected to. My 5 year old niece could have handicapped that one correctly, which unfortunately was why the payouts were so low. But from the athletic perspective, outstanding race!
HRC was given a bad race unnecessarily taken to the front early on. EQ had the better jockey
