NBK is a KO & simplified version of reputable 3rd party Generation Toy Gravity Builder. GTGB is not a KO of any hasbro nor Takara but their original design, very high quality & Very Expensive. Another GTGB KO is the Jinbao version which is oversized & scales with MPs & CW Titan Devastator.
If you go on the Wish app you can get a KO Devastator just like that for $17.00. I took a screenshot but there is no way to attach a pic thst I've seen.
Actually, I am a bit of KO combiner expert. In Russia, we have a weird scedule of TF releases: at first wave 1 deluxes/one-steps of a given toyline are released, than wave 2-3 voyagers and wave 4 deluxes. Because there aren't many TF fans in Russia, deluxes are major shelfwarmers: in a shop near my house, there is around 10-16 unsold 2016 Scourges and even more TLK one-step Megatrons. Because of unsold figures, TFs are released several months later than in any other place. So I usually buy 1-3 official figures and hope for the glorious China. I have 2 KO Devys: one rather articulated, Leader-sized when fully combined and inexplainably in scale with old Generations Legends Class (Prime w/ Roller), and the other, from a company XuiJengTzu - a mess of tiny unarticulated things, roughly deluxe-size when combined. I also have a XuiJengTzu Menasor (called Heavy Eradicator Deform Transport) and 3 KO combiners of huge size and unknown origin.
The unknown origin guys are a non-scramble Dinobot combiner, with Snarl and Sludge as legs, Grimlock as torso and Swoop and Slag as arms. The second guy is a FOC Bruticus with severe stability problems. The third is a unique combiner of a lion, wolf, triceratops, saber-tooth tiger and an ill-defined rhinoceros, where each bot can be a torso or any of limbs. This one has a truckload of accesories. Recently bought another megazordish thing, with a SUV as lower legs, a police boat as lower torso, upper legs and shoulders, a police car as upper torso and a bike and copter as arms. Also have a deluxe-size Sixliner whose components are robot silhoettes (am I writing this right?) with hollow trains on their backs and zero articulation besides arm bots (Alan and Leaf) who have shoulder and hip articulation to form arms. The combiner kibble doesn't form 3 train cars, but can be combined into a crude likeness of a unproportionally large utility train engine (those diesel guys who rearrange train cars on train stations). Also got a Bumblebee-headed, Voltron-fists-and-feet Galaxy Shuttle who happens to include a Megazord Power Sword/ Kyoryuuken God Horn. I gave the God Horn to TR Sentinel Prime (don't ask me why). In fact, my large collection is 70℅ knockoffs. Got a XuiJingTzu FortMax (Battleship Head Change WarBaseMan) - roughly deluxe, downscaled version of 1987 guy, has all the features excluding Cog, head transformation (the head can form a crude robot mode with is OWN non-transforming head which can be used as a tiny Spike who can sit in the cockpit), hand turrets (do not elevate, but are tiny molded things), all the accesories (besides heads) and elevator. The elevator doors are intact, while pointless. Fists are 3-mm like with XuiJingTzu Devy (whose box name I remember as Build Fighter 6-in-1 Transmorgify SuperMan, all orphography conserved) and Menasor (Heavy Eradicator Deform Transport). XuiJingTzu, whoever they are, are nice guys.
Might buy this tonight. I have a combiner wars on pre-order at bigbadtoystore right now,but it's gonna run me $230.with tax and shipping. This version is only $65 flat on ebay! I just want a devestator to sit on the shelf and look cool so this will do. Thank you for the detailed review!
This looks 1000% better than the Hasbro CW Devastator. I skipped the NBK version though as it's a simpler version of Generation Toys Gravity Builder. I ordered a Daban 1:1 Devastator that is a direct copy of Generation Toys Gravity Builder. I will use the individual robots to scale with the Siege line. I ordered an oversize larger version of Devastator made by JinBao so I can use it for the combined mode to be in scale with Siege Omega Supreme. Both Jinbao and Daban models are identical. The only difference is the size. Jinbao Devastator stands 45CM tall and Daban sits 38CM tall. I ordered the upgrade kits for Jinbao and Daban for the G1 head style and the stability/height adapters. This will make the both of them more stable and add a little extra height.
Nice review. Here’s my 2 cents’ worth, as it might help some people who are looking at buying this... I bought this same NBK Devastator for my kids (7.5yo & 4.5yo boys) a couple of months ago &, other than having to glue 2 small joints back together - which I also occasionally have to do even on their genuine Hasbro & Takara stuff - these are holding up fairly well. The plastics are not in the same league as their genuine Transformers but there’s not that much in it. Some panels do occasionally pop off but they go back on just as easily. As a precaution, I did run over just about every screw with a small screwdriver, loosening & tightening joints as needed, before handing each toy over to my kids as a review I’d seen warned against loose & over-tight joints on some KO toys. My younger son initially needed quite a bit of help to transform them as the transformations aren’t as straightforward as most of their other TF toys, but even he now does them almost entirely on his own, rarely asking for help anymore, so I reckon this set isn’t too bad for kids, unless your kids are careless & break stuff all the time. I’d say kids 6 or 7 & up should have no issues with it. I paid AU105 on eBay including GST added for imports, & also including around $15 in postage to Sydney. Took 7 weeks to arrive from China, which is not too bad for such a big parcel. My kids wanted Devastator but I wasn’t willing to part with $300 or $400 for something that’s actually going to be played with. $100 for 6 voyager-sized Transformers seemed very reasonable, though, even if they’re only knock offs... but we’re not discerning collectors. As you pointed out in your review, this Devastator scales really nicely with the current Siege & Earthrise line of toys, which is what my kids are currently collecting.
Given a) the instructions, and b) the fragility of it - *personally* I couldnt recommend this for kids. BUT - it really depends on the child (I dont have kids :) )
Jin Bao makes a better version of this that is actually larger with a much better MP scale for only a bit more. This version is a bit sub par but when it's not falling over it does look good.
That is indeed, without a doubt MP-01 Prime. I have one sitting in a box still sealed. Picked it up from Game stop back in 2004. It's a pity that his scale didn't become the standard. He was later replaced with MP-10. A smaller scaled and slight re sculpt.
thats my devastator but it has yellow instead of green but it still have the violet colors it has the same picture on the box front and at the back but its yellow
i have the weijiang 3rd party devastator and i love it. the quality is pretty damn good. im considering ordering the PT05 bruticus or the HNLZ version. if you have either, which one is better?
I've been wanting to buy some g1 transformers. But they are quite pricey. So I'm looking to buy the devastator walmart exclusive release back in 2018. How can u tell the difference between the Hasbro version vs the chinese ko?
I have the Menasor and Computron Combiner War Gestalts and the quality of those Constructicons and Devastator looks to be on par with the actual Hasbro variants. The Combiner War gestalts tend to be a touch on the janky side.
This guy doesn't seem half bad! I've got a couple of ko pieces mixed in my mps. They seem to be a pretty mixed bag... I've got a soundwave that love, but my G2 bruticus is pretty disappointing.
Nice review and very fair, for $140 you would have got better value from the JinBao version from aliexpress or any of the reputable 3rd party sellers. It's bigger and the latest version scales well with MP figures.
That's what I wanted to know!!! I'm not a rich man Jenny, so I can't afford the real deal. I just want to be surrounded by my childhood toys in my office.
@9ine9ine1ne stoopid if your asking me no. I been battling walmart trying to get sunstreaker. Websites say they got it in stock i go and its not there so 3 times I ordered it to pick up at store according to website yet they canceled because its not in stock even though the site says its in stock. As for devistator there us an up scaled hasbro version i may get eventually. Having somewhere to display it is part of the problem right now. Hell i almost have no room for all the figures I got now. Never expected to get this deep into collecting these things. Im up to my neck now
@9ine9ine1ne stoopid emgo316 has a video of the upscale devistator and you get a good idea how it scales. He has a few dev videos just look for the upscale dev video
I know for me, the most important thing for collecting is if I like it and sometimes I have found the knock-offs to be more likable. Although I was curious to know if you have any idea what kind of value these hold over time compared to the purchase price?
CanadianRetroThings I would expect them to drop, but judging from what I’ve at least seen locally - not by as much as I thought. Put it this way, I doubt you’d be able to pick one up for $50 for something that cheap.
@@MrLurchsThings Thanks! I don't know much about most of these toys in the current market, just what I remember from my childhood. I do wish I still had my Transformer collection I had as a kid!
Very informative. Would love see a nice pic I could use a wallpaper on my pc! I collect just to view, and not resale, so 3rd party knockoffs don't bother me, as long as the quality is good enough. I just love the looks of some things and want a replica for my shelf. Thanks so much for the video. Looking forward to more like it.
This is not a knockoff, a knockoff is a direct copy of an official transformer this third party and you call them destructicon it's constructicon and it is instruction not distruction
I'd argue that *all* "3rd party" Transformers are knock-offs given they're all rip-offs of Hasbro/Takara's IP. And the instructions/destructions was a freaking joke. Sheesh.
Actually this is a "simpler transformation" based version of the Original Generation Toys Gravity Builder. Technically it is a KO. Just not a very good one. The higher quality more expensive direct 1:1 KO is made by Daban. Jinbao is basically a KO of Generation Toy's Gravity Builder but larger and quality scale on par with Daban. Hence the higher price tags.
OK OK warning people please listen be careful with hook he is made very fragile me and my hook he has broke 3×3 times devastator said what’s on another part that I don’t know what to call
Very helpful review. This guy will be added to my collection. I think it looks better than the official release. I just wish it was as tall as the official one. Great job.
First of all congratulations for your video and channel! Secondly i am a Transformer fan since G1 period and now at my 42 I started collecting again figures (fortunately i am still having most of my toys i used to have at 80s). This NBK is the first figure with which I started collecting again, and since Devastator was always a desire since childhood (i didn't have him back then), i decided to get this piece. His price was very tempting, Jinbao or the original of Generation Toys was much more expensve. The quality, specially the joints, wasn't of the same league and this is the biggest issue that causes stability problems. Nail polish and staff can help on smaller figures and on NBK fingers but not so much on joints who have to withstand the weight of a big guy like hin. However some plastic cards (imagine the thickness of a credit card) can seriously reinforce the hip and knee joints while thin metallic washers can tighten the hips in lateral leg movements. After these easy interventions my NBK became rock solid. Hope I helped!
I just received my "GT Engineering" Devastator. Avoided NBK due to some other reviews on UA-cam. But mine were not the real Generation Toys, a lot cheaper, but not quite what most seem to be saying is the top notch KO Devastator. Mine are heavy, sturdy, tight, and there are several metal pieces as well as some more color variety (e.g., pelvis, chest, dozer buckets). I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND these to anyone, collectors or kid players. There are a few sellers on eBay selling them for ~$31 right now (May 29, 2020), which is actually $20 cheaper than when I purchased about 2 weeks ago. Now, one cement mixer didn't have silver paint on one side of the grill (oops), and the crane fronts don't stick together as well as all the other posts and tabs. You can search for "GT Engineering", it may be called "Green God". The link below is exactly what I bought - look carefully at grills, pelvis and details to make sure you're getting the high quality. It's actually XianBianZhanShen 6 in 1 alloy King Kong God, but that won't show up in the title nor descriptions. (www.ebay.com/itm/Transformers-Devastator-6-In-1-GT-Engineering-Truck-Robot-Action-Figure-11-Toys/202696524429?var=502811245063&hash=item2f31a7828d:g:mDYAAOSwtfpc8~tn)
I got this for 55 euros and it's really good for that price but I also got jimbao oversize for 130 euros and it s fantastic. Better plastic, no semplification, oversize. It worth every cent. Best devastator ever.
Thanks for the review sir we know that the third party was not good but some people can't afford to buy expensive like hasbro or takara made. For us even not original we are happy to have this even immitation bcoz hasbro takara its only for the people like you that can afford to buy things like this...thats why nbk doing products that some people can afford to buy or some poor people can buy things like this.. for poor people doesn't matter the quality unless we're happy...do not critizice the product of nbk bcoz they can help us to make us happy and to buy things that we can afford..
Gotta stop watching this :) would drive my wife crazy should I ever decide to start collecting transformers to sit alongside my retro PCs :) Great to see the Devastator and even Skeletor at the end really cool ... Never realised it was so much work to transform these things.

Nice demonstrating it👍
Nice! I like the tech and toy combo of your channel. I enjoy them very much.
I think that is the K.O. version of either build king or the one from Generation Toy.
darkwind9000 so the KO of a 3rd/4th party figure. Hah, that’s putting it pretty far down the food chain!
Very good review and informative as well. Thanks
I've been wanting to buy some g1 transformers. But they are quite pricey. So I'm looking to buy the devastator walmart exclusive release back in 2018.
How can u tell the difference between the Hasbro version vs the chinese ko?
I have a knockoff G1 devastator. Sold here in Canada at Dollarama! Literally cost 1 dollar for each figure and they are each a different colour!
I have the Menasor and Computron Combiner War Gestalts and the quality of those Constructicons and Devastator looks to be on par with the actual Hasbro variants. The Combiner War gestalts tend to be a touch on the janky side.

I so picked up the oversized KO Bruticus and its no where near as good as this. Its all floppy and barely stands.
It's funny that you reviewed the KO of Generation toys gravity builder. Which is a KO of devastator on it own. A KO of a KO
Nice review and very fair, for $140 you would have got better value from the JinBao version from aliexpress or any of the reputable 3rd party sellers. It's bigger and the latest version scales well with MP figures.
RoboReject entirely possible. This was really purchased on a whim while trawling eBay one evening. Which is a very dangerous thing to do 😁
Any link to where you got this guy
The Rover it was ages ago on eBay.
Excellent video!

There was a 2006 classics version
Also, your KO Devy was sold in Russia as Great Mega Construction Bot
Not all 3rd party figures are K.O’s ,not all K.I’d are 3rd party
I have this figure it is the best devastator figure so far and the eyes liet up
That was Scavenger
