  • BBQs in South Korea is one of the most popular food items and a personal favorite of mine. Loads of beef, pork, veggies cooked on a hot grill or charcoal and then eaten with veggies or cold noodles is a dining experience you NEED to have while in South Korea.
But Korean BBQ is NOT cheap and can easily run $30 $50 or higher per person. That's why I love all you can eat buffet style Korean BBQs and here are a couple of my favorite restaurants you need to try if you want some quality bbq meat and don't want to pay too much.

Your descriptions are so well articulated. Last week, I purchased a combination Korean BBQ with hot pot and it is suppose to arrive Thursday this week. I’m so excited to gather the family around the table and indulge in this awesome sustenance. For one it looks fun and 2, a person can pick on choose what they want. As a missionary to Japan some 47 years ago we lived meagerly with not much fan fair. Okonomiyaki for lunch, sometimes gyoza for dinner and oatmeal and eggs for breakfast. But 2 times in 2 years, we were invited for Sukiyaki and wow, I sure enjoyed. That’s the only thing I can equate to a hot pot. Chef Mike, thanks for sharing and stay healthy and safe

Just came back from a tour by myself in Moscow and I swear all the Mikey Chen videos I've been watching certainly influenced the way I toured around. For example, 1 breakfast was not enough, I had to have 2 lunches, get 2 of what I liked to eat, ate dessert-meal-dessert, and I literally didn't stop eating till I got back on the plane. I was touring around cathedrals and stuff and I was reminded of the Beyond Science videos lol! I've never had so much fun touring by myself and the inspiration I've gotten from your channel had a lot to do with it!

If you live in Queens, there is this restaurant called “Biwon” on Springfield Blvd. The best menu is the galbi and the mulnaengmyun (Korean cold noodles). For about all the 20 years I have continuously gone to eat there, the taste of the noodles and the galbi has never once changed. If you are craving galbi and the cold noodles while you are in the area, I 100% recommend the place. They also have really good service but of course, just like almost all Korean BBQ places it isn’t cheap.

Im korean living in Seoul. I watch a lot of food/restaurant reviews of many different youtubers. You seem to give very accurate and clear explanation. Thx. I should visit those places. BTW those reasonable priced buffets do not usually accept customers who come alone.. Im surprised they accepted you. Either its because you were shooting or because you are a foreigner. Koreans tend to be more generous to those English speaking foreigners..
