Molly Tuttle was my favorite act at Hardky Strictly 2018! I’ve been a fan of hers for a long time and I’m glad she’s getting the attention she deserves!
If they came second - I can't imagine who would have been first. Don't they sound a little like David Rawlings and Gillian Welch here? Molly in particular. Such a great duet - father and daughter !
Now that's what I call unhurried ... love to hear you two singing together. And hoping to see something of last night's (01/03/13) concert on here at some point maybe :-)
I know this is an older post/recording, but it doesn't diminish the value of the artists' contribution. In this time of COVID, connecting by music and family has been super important to so many of us. As a dad myself, I must commend Jack for cultivating the arts at the most basic level. Molly is a force both vocally and with her six string (sometimes banjo - don't give that up Molly). Molly is equally talented as a song writer - most inspiring! Makes me wonder where someone so young has become so insightful. All said, I gotta ask, where/how does someone of Molly's age come up with lyrics that resonate through the decades? With that, I'll confess my admiration for the kids that grew up in musical families (Jack - all praise), and ..the music camps (musician parents - if not for you, all of us would be lost). Yup, this is what it is all about
Song starts @2:45 I have to comment this because I keep coming back to this video to listen to this rendition of the Kentucky Waltz and I want to skip right to it. ^_^ It's so good!
@@Ace-mj7ws Paul Brewster with the TimeJumpers at the Station Inn is the best. FWIW. And includes an extra verse. And sweet sweet fiddle break to boot!! But no zero sum; the Tuttles are great musicians!
yup...perty rare that a father and daughter get recognized in this ball and dickheaded, combustion rocket happy, fracking raping society that calls itself a civil lie nation.
@@truthBtold99 Garrison corrected himself at the end by referring to the Tuttles as father and daughter. Earlier, after saying that he was too old to be Jack's son, he probably had "son" on his mind and just made a simple mistake. Perhaps you are being a bit too hard on this society.
Garrison, when my Corn gets ripe ,I listen for it to call me to the field and tell me I am ready to pick it take about 6 seconds to shuck it and another 60 seconds to put it boiling water 3-4 Minutes done butter salt sit down and give grace before I touch the corn that is fresh corn on the cob.
Your guess would be very wrong. There are many better at that level. Olsen and Collings come to mind. However Molly plays brands such as Preston Thompson guitars. And lately started playing Huss and Dalton guitars. Martins are no where near the top. Not anymore. Sorry.
Nah, it's a draggy waltz :-) This gem was featured on Molly & Jack's album The Old Apple Tree (2007). Got my copy a few years back, & yep -- looks like it's still available.
This is the perfect speed for this tune. Too many bluegrass artists get hung upon trying to clip a tenth of a second off the world's record for playing a song.

I never thought that I would enjoy Blue Grass music, but somehow the Tuttles have managed to change my mind.
Love their music and style.
instablaster.
And now in April 2022 Molly Tuttle is a transcendent Artist with a new fantastic album out.
Beautiful melody/hamony.....Awesome arrangement of that classic song!
Love this song when Molly and jack are singing it!
Always glad to hear great music coming from Tuttles!
And now Molly is a star in her own right, a mere 7 yrs later!
Love & respect this family ...
Absolutely beautiful! Perfect harmonies !
The harmonies really are really fantastic for sure!....simply gorgeous!
Just love them singing This is a piece of great history Proud father and Talented daughter We love you Molly
That host is great! His little chat with the Tuttles was very entertaining.
I really like this tune. Cheers dude🍻
Garrison Keillor - I didn't realise that Molly had ever been on The Prairie Home Companion, my favourite radio show.
If they came second - I can't imagine who would have been first. Don't they sound a little like David Rawlings and Gillian Welch here? Molly in particular. Such a great duet - father and daughter !
Yes!!
Lovely rendition of this song! Thanks for posting.
Jack Tuttle is sure a funny, witty fellow. Must be a great father.
Now that's what I call unhurried ... love to hear you two singing together. And hoping to see something of last night's (01/03/13) concert on here at some point maybe :-)
That was so nice. Sweet.

Beautiful job... Happy New Year!!!
BEAUTIFUL...

All I can say is WOW!
How fortunate the Tuttle kids are!
The Tuttles need to go back on Prairie Home Companion with Chris Thile please.
Superb!!
This is by far the best version of this song you'll find on UA-cam.
dogpatch75 Well, that's certainly a matter of opinion and couldn't disagree more. Listen to the Whites version.

I love this song. They should make a studio recording of this song, just them and 2 guitars.
You've gotta love how the band guitar player nods his head when Molly finishes her runs and then turns to the band behind him.
Molly won the International Bluegrass Music Association's Guitar Player of the Year Award in 2017 and 2018, the first woman to win that award.
Incredible harmony. She's a picker!
And a looker too,
Incredible!!!!!!😃
Probably the appearance that launched her career! Great job Molly!
Hmmm.... I'm thinking.......
All in the family - I love it!!!
Cool to see Molly back in the day. Today she's at Americanafest!
One thing I've always wondered is who are the three guys setting on the porch?
The Tuttles with A.j Lee on concert window tonite 01/03/13 ,buy your ticket now for a great show!

They were introduced as father and son.
Garrison is as he pointed OLD!

Give him a break, nobody's perfect. Simple mistake.
UNCLE BILL SMILES!
What key is this song played in?
D major
Agreed, great harmony. Too bad to be in the back row. I think that was Molly pickin? She has me trying to learn Bill Monroe licks

Beautiful song and music; very well done
My guess is that those are Martin guitars.
Dennis Galloway And you would be Right.
mbsnyderc The sound sooooo good!

@@MtnLiner Yet all those others don't seem to mind copying Martins.
MtnLiner and all those brands are trying to be a Martin!
But he introduced them as father and son!
chat ,then starts in 2 1/2 mins.
Father, Son ??
Tempo drags. I think Molly got dragged down by her father.

Double thumbs down.
