- This video shows you how to update your Hyundai's navigation (Maps) and software/firmware for free at home. Hyundai has now changed the radio screen away from the "bulb" style and reverted back to a similar design as older systems. This comes after many complainants about the usability. This update builds upon the latest UI theme for Gen 5 headunits including those found in all 2018-2020 Elantra GT's with navigation among other vehicles.

I actually liked the tubes…I hate the new screen. It sucks…The tubes were one of the small things that sold me. Don’t think it’s cool for Hyundai to remove it from those of us who loved it….

I dowhloaded the program, in the program their are several files, 5 of the files are zipped files, do I have to unzip those files for it to work ?? When I put the flash drive in the usb, on top of the display it says momentarily ( reading usb ) then it goes away, when I hit the download button it says reinsert the usb and try again. This is a on a 22 Tucson
Really miss the nostalgic vacuum tube radio theme, just updated to the new skin looks plain and horrible.

Ran this in my 2022 Kona EV. The map (navigation) won't open. When I go to my EV icon it shows Updating Navigation. Been almost 3 hours now.
Those bulbs were so dumb-looking, and a total waste of screen space. So happy they are gone! It is much easier to navigate to XM stations as well now with the new layout.

Just did the update yesterday. Thank you for the video! Something I noticed is the radio screen doesn’t stay up for long and within a few seconds of pressing the radio button to see that screen, it reverts right back to the navigation screen! And it’s driving me nuts when I just want it to stay on the radio screen. Is there a setting I need to change that I’m not aware of?
Hi, do you know what is OTA in new hyundai venue and how that will work? For new venue is there any new update and how to update if any?
2020 Santa Fe. Used USB to do the update, seemed to load correctly, but then I get the message "Navigation Not Available Check SD card". Should I use the SD card that came with the car to download the update?
The old SD card isn't big enough. Did you get the problem resolved? I'm having difficulty
I followed the instructions to update my 2019 Ioniq navigation exactly. Once complete, though, it not only didn't update the nav, it said nav was not available. Now I have none. What do I do?

Tried installing in my Elantra 2021 , it says “insert the device with update files” even though I followed all the steps correctly. I didn’t even login to my account though as it didn’t ask me to.

Hyundai is introducing OTA updates on many 10.25" systems for 2023MY here in the US.
Wonder if it updates android auto? I hate that android auto doesn't do split screen with music and maps. Drives me crazy
I have seen mixed things on this. As far as I know in this vehicle is does not change anything but on the 10.25" screens or larger screens, it seems to enable full screen AA (Once you change the setting on the phone too).

Sure will! You'll just have to use a USB drive instead of the SD card.
I did this update on my 2020 Tucson, and all went well except now when I tap the talk button on my steering wheel it goes to the built in system instead of CarPlay. If I press and hold it still goes to CarPlay but thats an annoying wait every time I hit the button. Trying to remember if there was any setting for this that I had to change last time, but I'm not seeing anything. Is this just the way it works now? The built in system is completely useless, I never use it so this is pretty annoying.
That is how it works with the newer Hyundai vehicles so it is possible the update changed that for older ones.

I have a 2022 Elantra, and on the update downloader it only says 2021

I don't believe it changed anything with that. Even though I believe it alerts too soon, it does help some people not drain their battery (I assume).

Is it possible to take your car to the dealership to do the update?? Or is it something we have to do on our own??
The dealer can perform the update (for a few I assume) or you can simply order the update via mail from the MapnSoft website. This means you can simply plug in the new SD/USB and update the system.

Does this work for the non-navigation Elantra gt?
Unfortunately they do not have updates specific for our cars without navigation. I have seen others updating using the Elantra sedan display audio only update but I would not recommend it.

Just purchased a 2022 Tucson Hybrid Limited and it has that ugly tube radio interface. THANK YOU for this video! I’m definitely updating my radio tomorrow since the dealer didn’t do it for me when I purchased it a few weeks ago. Great video!
Thanks for watching! Most of the time, dealers will not update unless requested. Thankfully Hyundai has made this process very easy to do at home.
@@JustinKelly I came from a Cadillac, they won’t even allow you to update the software on your own. You have to take it back to the dealership and if it’s past your warranty is a $99 fee! Crazy

If your car is listed on the website, then yes. It should have either a Display Audio update or Navigation update.

Random question. My 2018 Hyundai Elantra does not show the speed the cruise control is set to. I have noticed that newer Hyundai's show this information. Does this firmware update add this feature to older cars? I don't believe I have ever updated my firmware.
This is painful to update in my 2020 GT N Line. My 2012 Ford Focus could connect directly to home wifi and do downloads. Being that Hyundai is connected to Bluelink they should have the ability to do these updates automatically via OTA ...but guess not. I had the same issue you had in that I couldn't download the update to the SD card because the download was too large. So I ended up having to download it, transfer it to a cloud drive, so that I could then access it on a laptop that had an SD drive (couldn't download it directly to that laptop due to not enough space either). From start to finish, this took a few hours to actually do.
For the 2023MY Hyundai is adding OTA capability to many models.
Does it come with Andriod Auto? My 2016 Azera doesn't have it
Great Question! Certain 2016 models were eligible for an upgrade to include AA/AC as they didn't come from the factory with them at the time but are capable. If your Azera is eligible, I would assume it would come with the update. Let me see if I can find the list of vehicles quickly.

I would just attempt the most recent update for the Nav software unless you find something that states it is a specific download to enable AA/AC in your My Hyundai account.
