    When you have a long area to gather, like that babydoll dress, it helps to sew your basting stitch in sections instead of the whole thing in one continuous line. So like, divide it up into fourths and sew a basting stitch for that section, end it, cut the thread, and start the next section. That way you won't have to scootch your gathers all the way to the end.

      I actually did that at first, but it was leaving some funky flat parts that I was not a fan of. And it wasn’t too difficult to scoot them around, so I just ended up with the full father. Thanks for watching and sharing!

    This is my first time watching your videos. All three projects are adorable. I particularly liked the second one with the ruffled layers. I have sewn for over 50 years. Some of your techniques are quite different, but your creativity is so awesome. Your are very talented. And it is very enjoyable watching your videos.

    Pockets, I would have added contrasting pockets on the front...but it sure is cute. Reminds me of a dress I made back in the '80's. Blessings.

    I absolutely love those dresses! and I've wanted to make a little tank top that style for ages too, I think you've convinced me to do it!! One tip: I think you would have had enough fabric to make a curved facing out of the sleeve for the pinafore, and it would have made your life WAY easier. I could be wrong though, you might have tried that. Either way, I am no stranger to making things way harder on myself when I'm sewing than I have to too, so thanks for the relatable content 🥰

    • @WellLoved
      @WellLoved  4 роки тому +1

      I did actually try that and with the way the fabric laid, it was not having it haha so I had to switch over to the straight facing. Thanks for sharing the tip though! And thanks for watching!

    Have you considered using the back of the shirt for the front of the new garment you’re making, since it has no button placket and is a solid piece of fabric. You could remove the placket and use those two pieces for the back with a seam down the center, as you may not need the extra width if you’re sizing down a larger shirt, although the front pieces may yield more length if the shirt has a yoke across the back. Just a suggestion. 😊

    I feel like you did a great job, but you could have turned the two shirts, the peach and the brown into a shirt and skirt. It would be very nice. Like an off-shoulder long sleeve blouse with an A-Line skirt ( the common slip satin skirt style).

    falls short in that the fitting is not done at all. Kind of just cut everything into a boxy shape and it is not flattering at all. Keep trying, though, to get a good video for all to enjoy.

    • @WellLoved

      Some of these items were actually supposed to be for a larger size since I’m making them for others to purchase. Others are styled to be boxy, like the babydoll dress. I think it’s just a matter of preference, and I prefer them this way. Thanks for sharing your preference! I love hearing about people’s style!
