Exceptionally brilliant 👏🏿 Exceptional music playing A pianist at the height of his ability.. Rubalcaba definitely learnt from the greats like Art Tatum🤴🏾🤴🏼🤴🏿💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥
Technically, Rubalcaba wipes the floor with every other pianist I've ever heard, except maybe for Pogorelich in his prime back in the 80:s. That doesn't mean that Oscar Peterson, Art Tatum et al were less good musicians, but the speed and accuracy this guy exhibits... Jeez, I'm gasping for breath!
Rubalcaba is no doubt a great pianist and i know what it takes to play piano like this ,yet technique should be only part of music not all of it @@UttaraMimamsa
And it is said "Giant Steps" was/is the "acid test" for all jazz musicians to play, ever since it first appeared on John Coltrane's album of the same name, back in 1960, but behold how effortlessly Rubalcaba plays through the changes-like a red hot knife through butter! 1-28-23.
Giant Steps, surely one of my favourites. Heard quite a few interpretations. This one must be right, right, right up there. Brilliance all round. Gonzalo You beauty. May i know the names of the bassist and the drummer. This was quite Incredible. God Bless and stay Healthy.

The bassist is listed at the top, right under the video, as Miroslav Vitous-the drummer, Julio Barreto. 1-28-23.

incredible playing; musical, technically unbelievable. I jusr wish the piano had been tuned before this gig....
After listening to a number of his performances I wouldn't be so sure it wasn't in tune at the start of the concert.
@@dave_manley I'm guessing you're correct...he gives the strings a real test!
lol, it’s not that far out.
