And if you can't afford your electricity bills, you have no internet which means no Wikipedia. Not to forget that this is 2006 before phones with access to the internet became the norm. The lower the generation of vampire you are, the more potent your blood is and the stronger you are. Since Caine is the progenitor of vampires he is considered the first generation and you literally cannot kill him (it is actually in the rulebooks if I recall). 2nd Generation are those who were embraced by Caine and some ruled over the City of Enoch before it was destroyed in the Great Flood. The 3rd Generation are the Antediluvians who founded the 13 modern clans of the vampires. The higher your generation number, the further you are from the power of the blood of Caine and the weaker you are. So Pyotr diablerizing Ape and then Shitbeard made him jump up 2 whole generations in blood potency making him a 10th generation vampire.

Either way through, it doesnt make sense for lilith to be the first vampire when vampirism was sort of an ironic punishment for caine, to see his children, who have the power to change the world, kill and lie to one another for their own gain, just as god watched cain, one of gods children in the metaphorical sense, kill his brother and lie to god.

Yes Isis, as in the wife of Osiris and mother of Horus(who went on to become both the first mummy and founder of the Order of Light). In the Book of Nod Cainne encountered Lilith some time after he was cast out, but before he was cursed with vampirism. He was cursed with vampirism and all its weaknesses by God and 3 archangels after he had lain with Lilith and then learned the disciplines. There is a fan theory that Cainne and Lilith had a daughter who became the werewolf(which would lead some credence as to why one of his laws was"Thou shalt not feed from the moon beasts"). Later on in the book of Nob Cainne encounters a crone(which is believed to be Lilith) who blood bonds him and coerces him to embrace her, but she doesn't reinforce the blood bond and he kills her by shoving a tree branch through her heart, cutting off her head and leaving her remains for the sun, in Chronicles of the Dark Mother, it strongly implies, but does not outright say, that Lilith was the crone. Also in the Book of Nod it says that Cain didn't murder Able, after God refused his first sacrifice, he sacrificed his brother, which God also rejects, when Adam finds out about it, he casts Cain out into the land of Nod and curses him so that the land will not give him subsistence. Cain then goes on to change his name to Cainne. Later on Cainne, now a vampire, finds him family again. He hides in shadow so as not to reveal himself to them and discovers that they've had another son, Seth, and he loves him as he loved Able. Which is why one of his first commandments is "Protect and guide the children of Seth".
On the generations, they represent the raw potential of a vampire, if an aprentice tremere from 12th gen were to go on a diablerie rampage and got itself to 8th gen he would gain some raw power but still having no training in his clan discipline he wouldnt be able to do much with his new powers, experience and work are what makes vampires truly dangerous
Yup. @Airier to put it in D&D terms. A 12th generation no matter how much they train or old they get they can never have more then 20 strength. While being 9th or lower you have the potential to reach 30 strength. Your not going to get there by just being 9th, but your limit gets doubled.
Aye. It's a power cap rather than a baseline. It does come with some out-the-door benefits, but even a freshly-sired 4th generation vampire would still be fairly weak compared to a two-thousand-year-old eighth-gen. Time and experience are what maximize the potential of Blood Potency.
Diablerie does more than just reduce your generation. you absorb the victim's soul and memories along with it. That's how vampires can gain access to new disciplines through the act, because they're stealing the knowledge of the vampire they consumed. Of course, this also runs the very real risk that the vampire's soul could overpower yours and take control over your body if your willpower is too weak to resist them.
Don't worry, that couldn't be a werewolf you heard. If it took a freshly strengthened Pyotr to bust through a secured door, then a werewolf would have the strength to rip that house to shreds like paper.
Only in crinos or hispos form. Although it could have been a gangrel as they have a tendency to be wild and often take on animistic traits. In classic World of Darkness they would gain animistic traits permanently and would permanently lose a dot in a social attribute for ever 2 animistic traits they took on(from what I hear they really nerfed that weakness in 4th and 5th editions, making the animistic traits only last for a short time).
It could just be Door built the room for the Vampires based on what he was given for information. If Big D gave him specifications that just so happened to match what a werewolf can do, I don’t doubt Door of all people could build a suitable cell/room for Not Russ to stay in.
10:31 Airier, in case you were unaware- vampire blood is extremely addictive in the world of darkness. If you feed it to a human they become more powerful, something called a ghoul in the game, able to tap into a small amount of supernatural strength, speed and endurance and heal injuries in an instant except for fire and supernatural harm. But they also start to adore the one they drink from. One drink, you like a person. Two drink you love them. Three drinks, you are willing to die for them or kill for them. This same blood bond also affects vampires. Its how vampires like the Tremere ensure loyalty in their clan- they force their new members to take at least one drink of their superiors blood. Nasty stuff.
@@bthsr7113 Yes, this is accurate. Vampires and humans that feed on vampire blood have a "blood pool" that works similar to mana in some RPG systems. Basically, one pint of blood can be "consumed" to activate a supernatural ability or increase a physical stat....or heal a point of damage. Wounds in this game system come in three varieties- bashing, lethal, and aggravated. Bashing is damage from punches or similar 'minor' attacks- seven points of bashing upgrades to one lethal point of damage. Lethal is caused by lots of bashing or deadly attacks like shotgun blasts. Seven lethal and you are usually dead. Aggravated is a special type of damage only supernatural creatures suffer. Sunlight causes aggravated damage to vampires, silver causes aggravated damage to werewolves, etc. Vampire blood can heal one lethal point of damage or lots of bashing damage, but never aggravated wounds. Those only heal with time and significant effort on the part of the supernatural being.
Your average vampire has a max of 10 blood points in their pool. They lose one point every night and need to replenish it by hunting mortals. A vampire that loses all their blood for whatever reason risks entering a beserker state called "frenzy" or falling into a state of hibernation called "torpor". Worth noting that very old vampires (those of a low generation from Caine) have bigger blood pools, with the most powerful possibly having as much as 100 points available to them. Also worth noting that said very old vampires reach a point where human blood won't sustain them....the modern vampire society is deathly afraid of the oldest of their kind because they hunger for vampire blood and have the most terrifying abilities at their disposal to use in hunting their lesser kin. For example, during an event called the week of nightmares a third generation vampire awoke in India and fought some of the deadliest entities of that region to a standstill...and survived an emergency nuclear strike on the region by knowledgable government agencies monitoring the situation.
To paraphrase what I learned from Warlockracy's review of Vampire the Masquerade - the head of House Tremer centuries ago was a Wizard and something Wizards were constantly seeking to attain at the time was Immortality, but every attempt at it usually ended badly or had a unappealing catch to it. So this guy, the head of House Tremer, went "F@ck it. Let's try Vamparism." and that's how House Tremer became Clan Tremer - the Vampire Wizard clan. The Tremer Pyramid refers to their powerbase, iirc.
They also lost access to most of their magic thanks to that Vampirism. Blood Magic was usable but they no longer had reality shattering power at their very fingertips.
The "Pyramid" refers to the fact that every vampire in clan termere is blood-bonded to the vampir above them. Which means that every vampire in tremere is a slave to the one above them.
12:10 They've made reference to formally associating with a Hunter organization called the Arcanum in other videos, so it makes sense. The Arcanum are basically a Free Mason like society of knowledge seekers, they collect ancient tomes and observe the activities of supernatural beings around them. They aren't usually killers Big D and his posse are, which is probably why they currently aren't still working with them.
The Arcanum is particularly gun shy once they learnt vampires will retaliate hard if they dig _too_ deeply. They want to preserve knowledge, which you can't do if a supernatural faction gets PO'd at you and burns down a chapter house full of valuable books and artifacts.

9:09- Sort of. Most vampires are blood bonded at creation to their sires, but the Tremere enforced it tosuch an extreme that their clan curse became a weakness to blood bonds. Where normally it is 3 stages of blood bond, Tremere skip right to stage 2 at just a sip, and go to stage 3 (utter enslavement of mind, body, and soul) at the second drink.
Tremere ways: few if any other clans are as heavy on the blood bond as they are. So much so that it became their Bane: weaker to blood bond. if an embrace was planned and prepared as per tradition, on the day the new tremere will be forced to drink the blood of his sire and a mix of blood of all 7 leader of clan tremere (not sure if the blood of tremere himself is in there). this way, the fleedgeling will be and remain loyal to his sire and his clan above all else fro most of his life. "House Tremere" history: they were a mage organization (an offshot of the Order of Hermes) that join vampiric society some time before the turn of the first millenium. They betrayed/left their mortal mage allied, stole the blood of a 4th generation Tzimisce, diablerize the Anti-deluvian Saulot and wiped his clan the Salubri and made countless horrible experiments on others vampire to understand the vampiric state and to make weapons and servants to defend them (Gangrels among other serve as a base to make the Gargoyle bloodline). In others world, they made enemies EVERYWHERE and needed absolute obedience to survive those night... and they did. That Massassas war was the conflict between House Tremere and the Order of Hermes (parent mage organisation) when the later found out just what the newly made vampire did. It went on for decade without a clear winner and both side just kind of start focusing on something else (another eneny or a pressing threat). That conflict re-emerge evryone in a while. In 5th edition, some clue did indicate that mortal mage were ingaging their forteress in Vienna before the 2nd inquisition wipe the place. Regent is the title given to the highest Tremere present and posted in a territory. Usually in charge of the local chantry and the clan primogen in that city... unless he has very important research to focus on and cant be bothered with all that politicking going on.
Well... most of clan salubri... there are still a few kicking around doing their thing, but the general damage that the tremere did was enough that their status is similar to the Cappadocians, who were also dicked over by in this case... the Giovanni. Who are vampire necromancers who have ties to the mafia.
@@Motleydoll123 @jonathanphillips3052 Right right right, the tremere did tried to wipe them out but were assaulted on all front at once so complete replacement could not be achieve because they had other matter to focus on and so a few salubri did survive to modern nights. The Giovanni on the other hand did integrated the Capedocian clan for a while before going "order 66" on their non-Giovanni clansmen asses. Having a few century to take notes of names and places make for a much better coup than Tremere that basically went blitzkrieg on Vampire society, mortally offending like 3-4 clan on year 1. The whole Giovanni-Mafia link however is highly exagerated because of their Italian origin. Giovanni is historicly a very rich familly of traders (necromancers second) originating from the north of Italy near Venice. The origin of most mafia familly come from the much poorer south of Italy (mostly from Sicilly). When the new world looked like an opportunity to send away youger but entrepreneur vampire from european court where there was no room to rise in the local hierarchy (without removing their elders) clans present where mafian famillies existed followed too: - Lasombra literally have their clan founder home present on Sicilly so when population started emigrating to the new world. Some shadow followed them. - Ventrue yougling cant be lord in Europe cuz their sire occupy that seat and... well good luck removing them... but crime lord in New York... i guess that's an open slot of a kind... - Follower of Seth cuz they were trafficking drugs millenia before it was cool. - Other clans were more a matter of arriving in America and thinking "I need to live in the underworld and sometime kill/make some people disappear... and that mafia thing is already doing that so...". The Giovanni on the other hand were and still are very very rich and saw no reason to emigrate with other poor italian famillies. They are also still a very tighly held together clan and were not the type to send yougling oversea because they were too bothersome to have around. In truth, unless there was a very profitable trade route available in the new world, they would have no reason to establish themselves there and because of that they are one of the least present clan in america or the last to emigrate there in noticable numbers, Nevermind having ties in the Mob.
@@oliviernaud4373 ah. you make a good point. was kind of mistaken with the giovanni, but considering the antics of italian trading families of the era, they are extremely close to organised crime in terms of activity. they just kept things likely much more low key, certainly compared to some of their rivals. after all, within the dark ages, the giovanni were really not expected to gain much in the way of power... only to later subvert their progenitor clan for the most part and cement themselves.

From what I understand your generation indicates your raw power as a vampire and as Big D explained in the last audiolog, their vampiric abilities need to be honed over time meaning that a freshly sired 9th generation might be able to buldoze through a wall right off the bat with Potence but an experienced 12th generation, while not able to pull off feats on the same scale as lower gens, can still be formidable (to a point) if they play their cards right or in Pyotr's case master the art of being an opportunistic piece of work.
Your comment about renting out to ghouls and whether that would be a feudal approach: the answer is always gonna be a hard maybe. If they're Kevin's ghouls? Yes. If they're ghouls he's helping out to get back at their former regnants(masters), then... probably still yes. Clan Tremere is literally a Pyramid Scheme, with the clan founder at the top and they always claim they have the monopoly on vampiric blood sorcery... it's only true because few know about the OTHER types of blood sorceries. And no, not all vampires are blood bound to their sires. Only clans that do that are the ones that Kevin rails against (Ventrue, Tremere) because they prefer things to be "neat and orderly". Just learned of this most recent edit: Houdini is indeed a Tremere. The things I still have yet to learn. Y-yeah... your average Tremere is... rather socially inept... as far as they're concerned: social interaction is a distraction, focus more on your magical research and hand it in to your superiors so that they can get a promotion. 9th gen is the second lowest gen a player can be at start, 15th the highest. And Pyotr technically went down TWO generations. The thing with Diablerie is you do gain the skills/abilities of those you drain so while Kevin is a lower gen, Pyotr cheated his way to having more powers than Kevin did. I already sense an impending Leman analogue sometime in the future, and I already have a theory as to what form of werewolf they'd be down to the lunar phase he was born under. Odds of finding magic in a 99p store to break the blood bond... extremely rare. However, he could easily break the bond through negligence on his sire's part or just sheer willpower. Also... yeah, the Tremere are one of the clans that like to hear only what they want and get real... twitchy... when you're real with them... and yeah, no one really likes the Tremere because they're kind of elitist when it comes to their mastery over magic, the fact that they've brutalized most of the other clans (even using a few to make a new bloodline), and they literally weaseled their way into the upper echelons of Camarilla society by playing the "court wizard" archetypes.
Ooh! I'm curious now! What auspice were you thinking for Leman? I mean, Get is pretty obvious. One of the chiller, party hard and do battle good sects, rather than the Murder-Everything ones, but given the history/character arc of Leman in 30k, I can see them making it a plot point that he changed sects after some fucked up stuff happened. All that said....I acutally don't know which auspice would suit him best! I'm torn between Ahroun, Galliard, and Philodox.

Ahroun definitely suits the way Leman acted for like the first whole half of his life, and there are for sure plenty of wise and less batshit crazy Ahroun around, following how he ended up in later books. As for the wolfborn thing? Yeah, that makes sense. Given that he was literally raised by giant intelligent wolves? Absolutely. I think one of the books specifically mentions that Lupus Garou do often have kids with non-actual-wolf partners, given that there's no requirement for them to mate _with_ other wolves or _in_ wolf form. There's definitely merit to the concept that Known Lunatic Big D earned the respect of some terrifying gigantic Also-A-Lunatic Get of Fenris lady and the result of whatever property damage ensued was Leman.

Different Vampire lines have different abilities and specialities, as stated in the previous Audiolog. Pyotr is a Nosferatu, which are strong enough to juggle dumpsters, in Big D's own words. Also, as well as raising generations, Diablerizing also comes with the benefit of maybe allowing the Diablerie to obtain some of the strengths and abilities of those they consume. Also as Kevin is a Tremere there is likely some physical weakness there as they are not *_traditional_* Vampires as they stole their vampirism through a magic ritual, MAYBE. That weakness itself is just a theory on my part. Also, in regards to Leman... no. Zoran the Bear, the one that does the voice acting for Leman, said there are future plans for him to do voices for Ogre Popangan (how the hell do you spell that?!) and Hunter: The Parenting, but it is some time off.
There are exceptions, but the Tremere are typically not warriors. They rely on their wits and their blood magic to see them through the day, and so they tend to neglect their physical abilities, to the point where _VtM: Bloodlines_ actually reduced their melee and defense stats to emphasize this trend in their typical playstyle, although in reality Clan Tremere's inherent weakness is their vulnerability to Blood Bonds; they start bonded to the Clan, and if it or any other Blood Bond should be increased by a level, it goes up by two instead. This is why the Tremere rarely go rogue; the pseudo-Vaulderie the Tremere subjects their fledglings to causes them to have a full Blood Bond to the Clan Heads, the presiding Regent, and their Sire, which is usually enough to keep the Neonates in line.
Actually the act of diablerie mean to literraly suck the soul of your victim. Through that you absorb their blood potency and generation, but also theirs abilities and memories (basically, you get either random or DM negotiated additionnal dots on your character sheet from the victim character sheet). From last the episode clues: from Apeman, Pyotor got at least Protean lvl 1 (vampire discipline/power) that allow him to see perfectly in the dark (that was why his eyes were bright and yellow instead of dark and sunken into his skull) and maybe either or both dots of stamina (physical attribute) or fortitude (another discipline). Both of those last 2 would give him tremendous resistance to damage and... well... he take one devastating blow in part 3 and was able to walk off. From biker guy: his physical strengh (he look physically buffed now), maybe Celerity (in episode 3, he move around the house quite fast) and definitely Potence (ep 3: he kick a car against a house). Note that could also had absorb other skills and abilities like say the knowledge and skill to ride a bike from biker boy or... whatever academical knowledge he got from going to college but just didnt had any opportunity to use it or show it off. He could also got a very useless skill like say cooking because the dice roll didnt went you way or your DM had doubts about letting your character is getting too powerfull too fast and decided to be a dick about it.
Houdini is a famous escape artist, often also thought of as a magician. My bet is that D thought he was a Mage, perhaps of the Space arcana, and killed him.
Being a lower generation does mean you are more powerful, however being a lower generation doesn't mean you are older. So a higher generation vampire could be more experienced, which could balance it. Theoretically Caine could embrace someone in the modern world, and that would be a 2nd Generation Neonate. While it is possible for a relatively high (therefore weak) generation vampire (say 12th to 15 or whatever) to be centruies old.
fun fact: the Tremere clan started when mages became vampires because they wanted to be immortal(I guess they can't just warp reality and become immortal that way) which turned their "true magic" into "blood magic"

fun fact in the table top the 8th generation is the highest level you can get at the start but it has heavy skill investment meaning you have little resources otherwise, which is why Kevin has an apartment
Indeed. Unless it's dark ages, where 7th is the highest you can go at creation, but dark ages is also a very paticular beast in their own right. No masquerade at that point in time, and vampires had a bit more power and freedom...but it's still the dark ages...it's not exactly comfortable living and the supernatural is more open. High end vampires in that period could solo armies, turn into literal monsters, invoke subtle mind control over their whole line in their sleep. Or just punch some with such skill in potence...they get the fist of the north star treatment.
East Anglia was a small anglo saxon Kingdom in the early middle ages (circa 8th to 10th centuries) that was located in the eastern part of the british isles, being located where the modern North Folk is now. Kevin basically: im already dead! what will they do, kill me twice? btw hoduni IS a tremere! Despite making a habit of disproving superstition in life his knowledge ans studious work caught the tremere pyramids attention. while they are the blood magic style vampires they accept all nerds as they understand the need to adapt to new technology. they would know how dangerous muskets and blunderbuss are while other vamps would still blindly charge in. Also when pyotr ate the other vamps went from 12th to 10th so combine two power boosts with his skills and he becomes greatly powerful.
Y'know, The more episodes that pass, the less likely the theory some people hold of Big D being Big E becomes. Him referencing a father and brothers, which Big E did not have, and even if we say "oh he just transformed to appear part of a family". He also acts very much like he hasn't changed his identity in a very long time, where as Big E was constantly playing the roles of different people. Consequently, this taking place in the timespan it does, TTS emps mentioned what role he was playing during this timespan while talking to himself in an earlier episode. The life he lived was that of Sonichu's artist/writer CWC as an attempt to show humanity what could become of them through cringe or something to that effect. Even if we pass that off as a gag, emps also states that he didn't believe he could have children as he always assumed the mother had died and didn't know the sensei, his children in old lore and TTS, had existed. Last thing I thought of while writing this, emps is generally forward thinking about technology. While he recognizes its dangers, it's unlikely given the other information we have about him in general and him during the time, it's unlikely that he thought the computer, plasma tvs, or gas stoves were the work of the devil.
More comments for the algorithm! Generation measures potential power given enough time and age. Higher gen is worse cause you're farther away from the original, and lower gen means more potent power potential. Vampires, regardless of generation, tend to grow stronger with age since they gain more experience with the blood. What this means in game terms is dependent on edition, but basically lower generation means they can store more blood and unlock higher level abilities. In physical terms, it's the difference between throwing a motorcycle with no effort to throwing a TRUCK!
The only time in this series that D hasn't been in complete control was the ending of episode 2 when he realized how badly he fucked up by not telling the family about diablerization.

So there is a bit of a hierarchy in Camarilla society. The Camarilla will appoint a leader for a given territory, referred to as a Prince, which is essentially the Camarilla's equivalent of a mayor. They enforce the Camarilla's laws, but they are also expected to maintain the peace between the Clans and preserve the Masquerade, monitor the comings and goings of any and all supernatural entities or nosey humans, while also dealing with the Anarchs and the Sabbat, politically or militarily. Below them are the Primogens, the local leaders of each Clan. In the case of the Tremere, their Primogens are also usually the Regents of the local Chantry, a communal residence for the Tremere that is both safehouse and place of learning. If a Tremere has achieved enough clout, then it is entirely possible for them to be Prince, Regent, and Primogen all at once, although the title of Prince usually supersedes all others, and other representatives may be selected; a particularly large Camarilla territory may have a Tremere Prince, an older Tremere who would be the Primogen, and potentially several Regents overseeing Chantries in different districts or towns within the overall domain of the Prince. However, none of these titles are intrinsic to age, generation, or actual power, and both Caitiff, or Clanless vampires, and Thinbloods, who barely qualify as vampires, could achieve the title of Prince, and if memory serves correctly, a Caitiff was actually the Prince of Cairo for some time shortly before the New World of Darkness, although my memory is fuzzy on that one. To put this in more relative terms, Kevin, being the grandchilde of a Tremere Regent, was essentially the financial advisor of a local college. Impressive, but also painfully mundane.
@@davidfrancisco3502 Clanless or orphan vampires. Any vampire who cannot be readily identified as belonging to one of the recognized Clans or one or one of their Bloodlines is labelled a Caitiff. More often then not this is simply a matter of misidentification, typically when a Fledgling doesn't know enough to demonstrate the Disciplines or behavior associated with a Clan or Bloodline, which is rather frequent with Clans like the Brujah, Gangrel, or Malkavians that traditionally Sire irresponsibly. Airer, you do realize it costs money to access anything on the internet. In that, you need an internet provider and/or an electronic device to access them. And no matter how and in what combination, it costs money. Wikipedia is free, and always has been, but not the internet to access it. Only a few places provide free internet, and rarely a computer to go with it. Not to mention they expect you to buy things to have the right to access the internet. A restaurant will not let you come in unless you are buying food.

So um... Funnily enough... I found this in the sourcebook "Ashes to Ashes", but Houdini literally is canonically a Tremere vampire. So, in terms of Kevin acting more "human" the simple answer is this. Vampires tend to lose their humanity the longer they continue on as kindred. The toll of feeding on innocent people, killing, dealing with the machinations of kindred society and the constant itching of The Beast at the back of their mind. They lose themselves, eventually.

Basically the generation is the ceiling of power they can potentially reach. Even if you got embraced directly by an Antediluvian, you might still be outmatched by a Vampire from 6th or 7th generation simply bc they had a lot more time to hone their skills. But, if given enough time and practice, you could reach levels of power they could never hope to attain. With Vampires it's their experience that is the most dangerous. The older the vampire, the more time they had to master their disciplines, the more dangerous they are.

Think of blood like levels in end, higher blood means more feats and skills unlocked. Diablerie unlocks your blood skills but also gives you the stats of who ever you drained.

So Pyotr consumed two higher generations vampires from weaker to stronger, so he went from a 12 to a 10, which is already very formidable since the single-digit generations like Kevin are usually the deadliest in current eras while double-digit generation are the most numerous. Though even a highest generation vampire is still deadly compared to even a peak-performance human.

Generations in Vampire are...not that much of a power boost...until you get closer and closer to Caine. What separates 13-8 in game mechanics is they increase their blood pool for each gen. 7 and on you increase blood pool And the max of stats, skill And discipline ranks (The invisibility, command animals and strength given in the case of...sludge lad) for each gen. Most(!) Premogenitors are 3rd gen, they can flick their fingers (brujah) and your head will explode. Most vampire disciples are strong but once you start getting into 7th and lower...they become very very potent indeed.

To put the gen thing in character creation way of doing it, You got lower gen by using Advantage points. So if they were Player Characters at start Pyotr would have low bloodline but many advantages. Kevin would have more blood points for the clan powers but not the advantages that would be needed.
Lowering generation is a boost of potential, only with the variant rules being used is it an instant power up with diablerie. Most modern vampires are 13th generation.

In the world of darkness the actual vampire ruler of England is the literal god Mithras (who is a 4th generation vampire i think) , he like going to torpor for hundreds of years , so the rulers of different regions of the camarilla are called regents because of that i believe.
Regents are a tremere chantry thing. They're the local Tremere elder who is highest respected among the tremere as installed by the Overall Tremere Hierarchy. Prince is the local connection to the Camarilla hierarchy. For Sabbat you want the Priest (Packpriest), they have higher levels as well, but the Sabbat are a religious organization. The Anarchs are between the Sabbat and the Camarilla. They don't like the restrictions of the Capes, but they're not massmurdering vamp psychopaths so they agreed to a 'truce' back in the day. The leader of local Anarchs is chosen informally and is called the Baron, usually coinciding with who's the greatest social threat in the area, although it's not universal.
idk if this is spoilers or not but in hunter the reckoning, the hunters are psychic, tho we are not sure if they actually are psychic or just they believe they are but they do have psychic powers
@@Airier no more like in lore the hunters are a result of the IRL MK ultra experiments (maybe, not sure cause the hunters themselves are not sure this is their origins) regardless it is believed that the hunters were psychically awakened letting them 1 have psychic powers and 2 combat the things that go bump in the night. I think the "Wikipedia costs money to see" comment is about how it costs money to have an internet connection and a working computer, which are significant barriers and significantly more expensive at the time period HTP is set than they are in the modern day. Most libraries didn't even have free internet computers back then.
Remember going down the generations make you more capable it allows you ascess to a higher blood pool allowing you to store more blood to fuel more stuff like Disciplines. So lower the better but experience is very very good.

If WoD Fae are like old Fae, or like Dresden Files for the more modern name recognition, they are not a bunch you want to tangle with. Wikipedia is only free as long as you have somewhere to access it. Like a computer. Which runs on electricity. And if you can't afford your electricity bills, you have no internet which means no Wikipedia. Not to forget that this is 2006 before phones with access to the internet became the norm. Of course, there are always computers at public libraries, but in my experience they don't tend to be open after the sun goes down.

The lower the generation of vampire you are, the more potent your blood is and the stronger you are. Since Caine is the progenitor of vampires he is considered the first generation and you literally cannot kill him (it is actually in the rulebooks if I recall). 2nd Generation are those who were embraced by Caine and some ruled over the City of Enoch before it was destroyed in the Great Flood. The 3rd Generation are the Antediluvians who founded the 13 modern clans of the vampires. The higher your generation number, the further you are from the power of the blood of Caine and the weaker you are. So Pyotr diablerizing Ape and then Shitbeard made him jump up 2 whole generations in blood potency making him a 10th generation vampire.
With Caine and the rulebooks, pretty sure he has a character sheet in them, yes.
And all his stats have "you lose" written on them.

Yes Isis, as in the wife of Osiris and mother of Horus(who went on to become both the first mummy and founder of the Order of Light). In the Book of Nod Cainne encountered Lilith some time after he was cast out, but before he was cursed with vampirism. He was cursed with vampirism and all its weaknesses by God and 3 archangels after he had lain with Lilith and then learned the disciplines. There is a fan theory that Cainne and Lilith had a daughter who became the werewolf(which would lead some credence as to why one of his laws was"Thou shalt not feed from the moon beasts"). Later on in the book of Nob Cainne encounters a crone(which is believed to be Lilith) who blood bonds him and coerces him to embrace her, but she doesn't reinforce the blood bond and he kills her by shoving a tree branch through her heart, cutting off her head and leaving her remains for the sun, in Chronicles of the Dark Mother, it strongly implies, but does not outright say, that Lilith was the crone. Also in the Book of Nod it says that Cain didn't murder Able, after God refused his first sacrifice, he sacrificed his brother, which God also rejects, when Adam finds out about it, he casts Cain out into the land of Nod and curses him so that the land will not give him subsistence. Cain then goes on to change his name to Cainne.
Later on Cainne, now a vampire, finds him family again. He hides in shadow so as not to reveal himself to them and discovers that they've had another son, Seth, and he loves him as he loved Able. Which is why one of his first commandments is "Protect and guide the children of Seth".
On the generations, they represent the raw potential of a vampire, if an aprentice tremere from 12th gen were to go on a diablerie rampage and got itself to 8th gen he would gain some raw power but still having no training in his clan discipline he wouldnt be able to do much with his new powers, experience and work are what makes vampires truly dangerous
Yup. @Airier to put it in D&D terms. A 12th generation no matter how much they train or old they get they can never have more then 20 strength. While being 9th or lower you have the potential to reach 30 strength. Your not going to get there by just being 9th, but your limit gets doubled.
Aye. It's a power cap rather than a baseline. It does come with some out-the-door benefits, but even a freshly-sired 4th generation vampire would still be fairly weak compared to a two-thousand-year-old eighth-gen. Time and experience are what maximize the potential of Blood Potency.
Diablerie does more than just reduce your generation. you absorb the victim's soul and memories along with it. That's how vampires can gain access to new disciplines through the act, because they're stealing the knowledge of the vampire they consumed. Of course, this also runs the very real risk that the vampire's soul could overpower yours and take control over your body if your willpower is too weak to resist them.
Don't worry, that couldn't be a werewolf you heard. If it took a freshly strengthened Pyotr to bust through a secured door, then a werewolf would have the strength to rip that house to shreds like paper.

Only in crinos or hispos form. Although it could have been a gangrel as they have a tendency to be wild and often take on animistic traits. In classic World of Darkness they would gain animistic traits permanently and would permanently lose a dot in a social attribute for ever 2 animistic traits they took on(from what I hear they really nerfed that weakness in 4th and 5th editions, making the animistic traits only last for a short time).
It could just be Door built the room for the Vampires based on what he was given for information. If Big D gave him specifications that just so happened to match what a werewolf can do, I don’t doubt Door of all people could build a suitable cell/room for Not Russ to stay in.

10:31 Airier, in case you were unaware- vampire blood is extremely addictive in the world of darkness. If you feed it to a human they become more powerful, something called a ghoul in the game, able to tap into a small amount of supernatural strength, speed and endurance and heal injuries in an instant except for fire and supernatural harm. But they also start to adore the one they drink from. One drink, you like a person. Two drink you love them. Three drinks, you are willing to die for them or kill for them. This same blood bond also affects vampires. Its how vampires like the Tremere ensure loyalty in their clan- they force their new members to take at least one drink of their superiors blood. Nasty stuff.
If the VTMB video game is accurate, it also can help mortals recover from serious injuries that they have when you first feed them.
@@bthsr7113 Yes, this is accurate. Vampires and humans that feed on vampire blood have a "blood pool" that works similar to mana in some RPG systems. Basically, one pint of blood can be "consumed" to activate a supernatural ability or increase a physical stat....or heal a point of damage. Wounds in this game system come in three varieties- bashing, lethal, and aggravated. Bashing is damage from punches or similar 'minor' attacks- seven points of bashing upgrades to one lethal point of damage. Lethal is caused by lots of bashing or deadly attacks like shotgun blasts. Seven lethal and you are usually dead. Aggravated is a special type of damage only supernatural creatures suffer. Sunlight causes aggravated damage to vampires, silver causes aggravated damage to werewolves, etc. Vampire blood can heal one lethal point of damage or lots of bashing damage, but never aggravated wounds. Those only heal with time and significant effort on the part of the supernatural being.
Your average vampire has a max of 10 blood points in their pool. They lose one point every night and need to replenish it by hunting mortals. A vampire that loses all their blood for whatever reason risks entering a beserker state called "frenzy" or falling into a state of hibernation called "torpor". Worth noting that very old vampires (those of a low generation from Caine) have bigger blood pools, with the most powerful possibly having as much as 100 points available to them. Also worth noting that said very old vampires reach a point where human blood won't sustain them....the modern vampire society is deathly afraid of the oldest of their kind because they hunger for vampire blood and have the most terrifying abilities at their disposal to use in hunting their lesser kin. For example, during an event called the week of nightmares a third generation vampire awoke in India and fought some of the deadliest entities of that region to a standstill...and survived an emergency nuclear strike on the region by knowledgable government agencies monitoring the situation.
To paraphrase what I learned from Warlockracy's review of Vampire the Masquerade - the head of House Tremer centuries ago was a Wizard and something Wizards were constantly seeking to attain at the time was Immortality, but every attempt at it usually ended badly or had a unappealing catch to it. So this guy, the head of House Tremer, went "F@ck it. Let's try Vamparism." and that's how House Tremer became Clan Tremer - the Vampire Wizard clan. The Tremer Pyramid refers to their powerbase, iirc.

Another lore tidbit is that only the living have the potential to be Mages. Going undead means giving that up.
The "Pyramid" refers to the fact that every vampire in clan termere is blood-bonded to the vampir above them. Which means that every vampire in tremere is a slave to the one above them.
12:10 They've made reference to formally associating with a Hunter organization called the Arcanum in other videos, so it makes sense. The Arcanum are basically a Free Mason like society of knowledge seekers, they collect ancient tomes and observe the activities of supernatural beings around them. They aren't usually killers Big D and his posse are, which is probably why they currently aren't still working with them.
The Arcanum is particularly gun shy once they learnt vampires will retaliate hard if they dig _too_ deeply. They want to preserve knowledge, which you can't do if a supernatural faction gets PO'd at you and burns down a chapter house full of valuable books and artifacts.

9:09- Sort of. Most vampires are blood bonded at creation to their sires, but the Tremere enforced it tosuch an extreme that their clan curse became a weakness to blood bonds. Where normally it is 3 stages of blood bond, Tremere skip right to stage 2 at just a sip, and go to stage 3 (utter enslavement of mind, body, and soul) at the second drink.
Tremere ways: few if any other clans are as heavy on the blood bond as they are. So much so that it became their Bane: weaker to blood bond. if an embrace was planned and prepared as per tradition, on the day the new tremere will be forced to drink the blood of his sire and a mix of blood of all 7 leader of clan tremere (not sure if the blood of tremere himself is in there). this way, the fleedgeling will be and remain loyal to his sire and his clan above all else fro most of his life.
"House Tremere" history: they were a mage organization (an offshot of the Order of Hermes) that join vampiric society some time before the turn of the first millenium. They betrayed/left their mortal mage allied, stole the blood of a 4th generation Tzimisce, diablerize the Anti-deluvian Saulot and wiped his clan the Salubri and made countless horrible experiments on others vampire to understand the vampiric state and to make weapons and servants to defend them (Gangrels among other serve as a base to make the Gargoyle bloodline).
In others world, they made enemies EVERYWHERE and needed absolute obedience to survive those night... and they did.
That Massassas war was the conflict between House Tremere and the Order of Hermes (parent mage organisation) when the later found out just what the newly made vampire did. It went on for decade without a clear winner and both side just kind of start focusing on something else (another eneny or a pressing threat). That conflict re-emerge evryone in a while. In 5th edition, some clue did indicate that mortal mage were ingaging their forteress in Vienna before the 2nd inquisition wipe the place.
Regent is the title given to the highest Tremere present and posted in a territory. Usually in charge of the local chantry and the clan primogen in that city... unless he has very important research to focus on and cant be bothered with all that politicking going on.
Well... most of clan salubri... there are still a few kicking around doing their thing, but the general damage that the tremere did was enough that their status is similar to the Cappadocians, who were also dicked over by in this case... the Giovanni. Who are vampire necromancers who have ties to the mafia.

The Giovanni on the other hand did integrated the Capedocian clan for a while before going "order 66" on their non-Giovanni clansmen asses. Having a few century to take notes of names and places make for a much better coup than Tremere that basically went blitzkrieg on Vampire society, mortally offending like 3-4 clan on year 1.
The whole Giovanni-Mafia link however is highly exagerated because of their Italian origin. Giovanni is historicly a very rich familly of traders (necromancers second) originating from the north of Italy near Venice. The origin of most mafia familly come from the much poorer south of Italy (mostly from Sicilly). When the new world looked like an opportunity to send away youger but entrepreneur vampire from european court where there was no room to rise in the local hierarchy (without removing their elders) clans present where mafian famillies existed followed too:
- Lasombra literally have their clan founder home present on Sicilly so when population started emigrating to the new world. Some shadow followed them.
- Ventrue yougling cant be lord in Europe cuz their sire occupy that seat and... well good luck removing them... but crime lord in New York... i guess that's an open slot of a kind...
- Follower of Seth cuz they were trafficking drugs millenia before it was cool.
- Other clans were more a matter of arriving in America and thinking "I need to live in the underworld and sometime kill/make some people disappear... and that mafia thing is already doing that so...".
The Giovanni on the other hand were and still are very very rich and saw no reason to emigrate with other poor italian famillies. They are also still a very tighly held together clan and were not the type to send yougling oversea because they were too bothersome to have around. In truth, unless there was a very profitable trade route available in the new world, they would have no reason to establish themselves there and because of that they are one of the least present clan in america or the last to emigrate there in noticable numbers, Nevermind having ties in the Mob.
@@oliviernaud4373 ah. you make a good point. was kind of mistaken with the giovanni, but considering the antics of italian trading families of the era, they are extremely close to organised crime in terms of activity. they just kept things likely much more low key, certainly compared to some of their rivals. after all, within the dark ages, the giovanni were really not expected to gain much in the way of power... only to later subvert their progenitor clan for the most part and cement themselves.

From what I understand your generation indicates your raw power as a vampire and as Big D explained in the last audiolog, their vampiric abilities need to be honed over time meaning that a freshly sired 9th generation might be able to buldoze through a wall right off the bat with Potence but an experienced 12th generation, while not able to pull off feats on the same scale as lower gens, can still be formidable (to a point) if they play their cards right or in Pyotr's case master the art of being an opportunistic piece of work.
Your comment about renting out to ghouls and whether that would be a feudal approach: the answer is always gonna be a hard maybe. If they're Kevin's ghouls? Yes. If they're ghouls he's helping out to get back at their former regnants(masters), then... probably still yes.
Clan Tremere is literally a Pyramid Scheme, with the clan founder at the top and they always claim they have the monopoly on vampiric blood sorcery... it's only true because few know about the OTHER types of blood sorceries. And no, not all vampires are blood bound to their sires. Only clans that do that are the ones that Kevin rails against (Ventrue, Tremere) because they prefer things to be "neat and orderly".

Y-yeah... your average Tremere is... rather socially inept... as far as they're concerned: social interaction is a distraction, focus more on your magical research and hand it in to your superiors so that they can get a promotion.
9th gen is the second lowest gen a player can be at start, 15th the highest. And Pyotr technically went down TWO generations. The thing with Diablerie is you do gain the skills/abilities of those you drain so while Kevin is a lower gen, Pyotr cheated his way to having more powers than Kevin did.
I already sense an impending Leman analogue sometime in the future, and I already have a theory as to what form of werewolf they'd be down to the lunar phase he was born under.
Odds of finding magic in a 99p store to break the blood bond... extremely rare. However, he could easily break the bond through negligence on his sire's part or just sheer willpower. Also... yeah, the Tremere are one of the clans that like to hear only what they want and get real... twitchy... when you're real with them... and yeah, no one really likes the Tremere because they're kind of elitist when it comes to their mastery over magic, the fact that they've brutalized most of the other clans (even using a few to make a new bloodline), and they literally weaseled their way into the upper echelons of Camarilla society by playing the "court wizard" archetypes.

I mean, Get is pretty obvious. One of the chiller, party hard and do battle good sects, rather than the Murder-Everything ones, but given the history/character arc of Leman in 30k, I can see them making it a plot point that he changed sects after some fucked up stuff happened.
All that said....I acutally don't know which auspice would suit him best! I'm torn between Ahroun, Galliard, and Philodox.

I think one of the books specifically mentions that Lupus Garou do often have kids with non-actual-wolf partners, given that there's no requirement for them to mate _with_ other wolves or _in_ wolf form. There's definitely merit to the concept that Known Lunatic Big D earned the respect of some terrifying gigantic Also-A-Lunatic Get of Fenris lady and the result of whatever property damage ensued was Leman.

Different Vampire lines have different abilities and specialities, as stated in the previous Audiolog. Pyotr is a Nosferatu, which are strong enough to juggle dumpsters, in Big D's own words. Also, as well as raising generations, Diablerizing also comes with the benefit of maybe allowing the Diablerie to obtain some of the strengths and abilities of those they consume.
Also as Kevin is a Tremere there is likely some physical weakness there as they are not *_traditional_* Vampires as they stole their vampirism through a magic ritual, MAYBE. That weakness itself is just a theory on my part.
Also, in regards to Leman... no. Zoran the Bear, the one that does the voice acting for Leman, said there are future plans for him to do voices for Ogre Popangan (how the hell do you spell that?!) and Hunter: The Parenting, but it is some time off.
There are exceptions, but the Tremere are typically not warriors. They rely on their wits and their blood magic to see them through the day, and so they tend to neglect their physical abilities, to the point where _VtM: Bloodlines_ actually reduced their melee and defense stats to emphasize this trend in their typical playstyle, although in reality Clan Tremere's inherent weakness is their vulnerability to Blood Bonds; they start bonded to the Clan, and if it or any other Blood Bond should be increased by a level, it goes up by two instead. This is why the Tremere rarely go rogue; the pseudo-Vaulderie the Tremere subjects their fledglings to causes them to have a full Blood Bond to the Clan Heads, the presiding Regent, and their Sire, which is usually enough to keep the Neonates in line.

Actually the act of diablerie mean to literraly suck the soul of your victim. Through that you absorb their blood potency and generation, but also theirs abilities and memories (basically, you get either random or DM negotiated additionnal dots on your character sheet from the victim character sheet).
From last the episode clues: from Apeman, Pyotor got at least Protean lvl 1 (vampire discipline/power) that allow him to see perfectly in the dark (that was why his eyes were bright and yellow instead of dark and sunken into his skull) and maybe either or both dots of stamina (physical attribute) or fortitude (another discipline). Both of those last 2 would give him tremendous resistance to damage and... well... he take one devastating blow in part 3 and was able to walk off.
From biker guy: his physical strengh (he look physically buffed now), maybe Celerity (in episode 3, he move around the house quite fast) and definitely Potence (ep 3: he kick a car against a house).
Note that could also had absorb other skills and abilities like say the knowledge and skill to ride a bike from biker boy or... whatever academical knowledge he got from going to college but just didnt had any opportunity to use it or show it off. He could also got a very useless skill like say cooking because the dice roll didnt went you way or your DM had doubts about letting your character is getting too powerfull too fast and decided to be a dick about it.

Being a lower generation does mean you are more powerful, however being a lower generation doesn't mean you are older. So a higher generation vampire could be more experienced, which could balance it.
Theoretically Caine could embrace someone in the modern world, and that would be a 2nd Generation Neonate.
While it is possible for a relatively high (therefore weak) generation vampire (say 12th to 15 or whatever) to be centruies old.
It's like with gods and demigods. Ares and Heracles are the same generation, but one is a lot older than the other.

Indeed. Unless it's dark ages, where 7th is the highest you can go at creation, but dark ages is also a very paticular beast in their own right. No masquerade at that point in time, and vampires had a bit more power and freedom...but it's still the dark ages...it's not exactly comfortable living and the supernatural is more open. High end vampires in that period could solo armies, turn into literal monsters, invoke subtle mind control over their whole line in their sleep. Or just punch some with such skill in potence...they get the fist of the north star treatment.

Also when pyotr ate the other vamps went from 12th to 10th so combine two power boosts with his skills and he becomes greatly powerful.

Y'know, The more episodes that pass, the less likely the theory some people hold of Big D being Big E becomes. Him referencing a father and brothers, which Big E did not have, and even if we say "oh he just transformed to appear part of a family". He also acts very much like he hasn't changed his identity in a very long time, where as Big E was constantly playing the roles of different people. Consequently, this taking place in the timespan it does, TTS emps mentioned what role he was playing during this timespan while talking to himself in an earlier episode. The life he lived was that of Sonichu's artist/writer CWC as an attempt to show humanity what could become of them through cringe or something to that effect. Even if we pass that off as a gag, emps also states that he didn't believe he could have children as he always assumed the mother had died and didn't know the sensei, his children in old lore and TTS, had existed. Last thing I thought of while writing this, emps is generally forward thinking about technology. While he recognizes its dangers, it's unlikely given the other information we have about him in general and him during the time, it's unlikely that he thought the computer, plasma tvs, or gas stoves were the work of the devil.

Generation measures potential power given enough time and age. Higher gen is worse cause you're farther away from the original, and lower gen means more potent power potential. Vampires, regardless of generation, tend to grow stronger with age since they gain more experience with the blood.
What this means in game terms is dependent on edition, but basically lower generation means they can store more blood and unlock higher level abilities. In physical terms, it's the difference between throwing a motorcycle with no effort to throwing a TRUCK!

So there is a bit of a hierarchy in Camarilla society. The Camarilla will appoint a leader for a given territory, referred to as a Prince, which is essentially the Camarilla's equivalent of a mayor. They enforce the Camarilla's laws, but they are also expected to maintain the peace between the Clans and preserve the Masquerade, monitor the comings and goings of any and all supernatural entities or nosey humans, while also dealing with the Anarchs and the Sabbat, politically or militarily. Below them are the Primogens, the local leaders of each Clan. In the case of the Tremere, their Primogens are also usually the Regents of the local Chantry, a communal residence for the Tremere that is both safehouse and place of learning. If a Tremere has achieved enough clout, then it is entirely possible for them to be Prince, Regent, and Primogen all at once, although the title of Prince usually supersedes all others, and other representatives may be selected; a particularly large Camarilla territory may have a Tremere Prince, an older Tremere who would be the Primogen, and potentially several Regents overseeing Chantries in different districts or towns within the overall domain of the Prince.
However, none of these titles are intrinsic to age, generation, or actual power, and both Caitiff, or Clanless vampires, and Thinbloods, who barely qualify as vampires, could achieve the title of Prince, and if memory serves correctly, a Caitiff was actually the Prince of Cairo for some time shortly before the New World of Darkness, although my memory is fuzzy on that one.
To put this in more relative terms, Kevin, being the grandchilde of a Tremere Regent, was essentially the financial advisor of a local college. Impressive, but also painfully mundane.

More often then not this is simply a matter of misidentification, typically when a Fledgling doesn't know enough to demonstrate the Disciplines or behavior associated with a Clan or Bloodline, which is rather frequent with Clans like the Brujah, Gangrel, or Malkavians that traditionally Sire irresponsibly. In other cases, Clans may simply deny that an individual is related to them, effectively using the label of Caitiff as a form of de facto banishment or excommunication, although conversely a vampire may simply call themselves Caitiff if they would prefer to not associate with their Clan or identify their heritage. However, true Caitiff are abnormalities that tend to defy classification. Some of these become offshoots of their parent Clan that are recognized, officially or otherwise, as Bloodlines, and others may develop into their own Clans, much like the Tremere, Nagaraja and Baali have done, but there are occasionally outliers among outliers; individuals who can only be identified as Caitiff.

However, when you diablerize someone of lower generation than yourself, you can reduce your own generation and absorb their power. Pyotr was 12th generation when they were captured, and lowered himself to 10th generation after devouring his packmates.

Airer, you do realize it costs money to access anything on the internet. In that, you need an internet provider and/or an electronic device to access them. And no matter how and in what combination, it costs money. Wikipedia is free, and always has been, but not the internet to access it.
Only a few places provide free internet, and rarely a computer to go with it. Not to mention they expect you to buy things to have the right to access the internet. A restaurant will not let you come in unless you are buying food.
I don't know much about World of Darkness, but my assumtion is that Kevin is potentialyl very powerful as a 9th generation, but hasn't had time to grow into and master that power. He's 27, he's not been a Vampire for too long.

So um... Funnily enough... I found this in the sourcebook "Ashes to Ashes", but Houdini literally is canonically a Tremere vampire. Rather than just dying at the time he died in real life, he got the Embrace instead. So yeah. Also, apparently he WILLINGLY did so, accepting a Tremere vampires offer for eternal life.

a thing to remember is that kevin is also running essentialy on fumes hence his not so imposing pressence where as diablerised pyotr was running on full tank of blood from generations far stronger then himself if kevin had been the one to devour the others....i think the series would have ended
So, in terms of Kevin acting more "human" the simple answer is this. Vampires tend to lose their humanity the longer they continue on as kindred. The toll of feeding on innocent people, killing, dealing with the machinations of kindred society and the constant itching of The Beast at the back of their mind. They lose themselves, eventually.

Old World of Darkness and New World of Darkness, (aka Chronicles of Darkness), are unrelated other than the New World being inspired by their spiritual predecessors.
The Old World technically still continues after the end considering it takes place in 1999 known as the Week of Nightmares, this is 2006 so after the end of the Wraiths and the death of an Antediluvian.
New world (or Chronicles) is designed to have the gamelines be able to fit together in a more coherent world, not quite balanced but more so than the Old World.

I think the "The internet is not a right" means more that to look at something on Wikipedia, you need to pay for electricity, have a computer, *and* pay the internet service provider. So while Wikipedia itself might be free, *getting there* isn't.

Even if you got embraced directly by an Antediluvian, you might still be outmatched by a Vampire from 6th or 7th generation simply bc they had a lot more time to hone their skills.
But, if given enough time and practice, you could reach levels of power they could never hope to attain.
With Vampires it's their experience that is the most dangerous. The older the vampire, the more time they had to master their disciplines, the more dangerous they are.

All vampires start at blood potency 1, and increase every 25 or 50 years or so or with diablerie. It works functionally like generation for everything, except lower raw potential at the peaks.
At blood potency 3 or higher you can only feed from humans. At blood potency 6 or higher you can only feed from vampires or other supernaturals
Vampires decrease it by entering torpor, sleeping for years at a time. This makes them forget stuff and makes their mind fresh to encounter and adapt the world they wake up to. It also lowers their blood potency by 1 for every 25 years, used to ease feeding restrictions

32:20 Social credit is also a concept in other areas. Basically if you're for communal living in a society that does away with money then social credit is essentially what things run on. To a degree. It's also the concept behind things like community networks, which build up social credit by doing positive things for the community they are in which in turn allows them to get the word out about whatever it is that they are wanting. Church groups, for example, do this. But so do more political groups, like anarchists building up a community network to try to ensure housing, food security, and so on.

Pyotr diablerized Ape who was generation 11, then Shitbeard, generation 10. So Pyotr consumed two higher generations vampires from weaker to stronger, so he went from a 12 to a 10, which is already very formidable since the single-digit generations like Kevin are usually the deadliest in current eras while double-digit generation are the most numerous. Though even a highest generation vampire is still deadly compared to even a peak-performance human.

To put the gen thing in character creation way of doing it, You got lower gen by using Advantage points. So if they were Player Characters at start Pyotr would have low bloodline but many advantages. Kevin would have more blood points for the clan powers but not the advantages that would be needed.
Lowering generation is a boost of potential, only with the variant rules being used is it an instant power up with diablerie. Most modern vampires are 13th generation.

@@Airier no more like in lore the hunters are a result of the IRL MK ultra experiments (maybe, not sure cause the hunters themselves are not sure this is their origins) regardless it is believed that the hunters were psychically awakened letting them 1 have psychic powers and 2 combat the things that go bump in the night.
In lore you can flavour your psychic powers like what alfabusa did with the characters (just so happen) to have things they need for specific circumstances, but it is actually their psychic powers manifesting.

I think the "Wikipedia costs money to see" comment is about how it costs money to have an internet connection and a working computer, which are significant barriers and significantly more expensive at the time period HTP is set than they are in the modern day. Most libraries didn't even have free internet computers back then.

Remember going down the generations make you more capable it allows you ascess to a higher blood pool allowing you to store more blood to fuel more stuff like Disciplines. So lower the better but experience is very very good.

The power gap between a generation and another gets smaller as generations go up, a 13th generation vampire is closer to a 12th generation vampire than an 7th is to a 6th
Think of it like... Each generation being 75% of the last one, as you go lower that 25% lost means less and less

If WoD Fae are like old Fae, or like Dresden Files for the more modern name recognition, they are not a bunch you want to tangle with. If you do run into them though, they usually respect politeness and decorum. Also, don't take anything from them, avoid deals with them, be very mindful of hospitality. Also, trust no one and always assume there is a cost. If they're running old school, even the mere act of accepting a glass of water could be to your detriment.
