Hands down the best comparison video out there on comparing the two models, thanks for taking the time to get the facts out there!
Im completely new to 3D printing, and I was almost about to buy the Ender 3 V2, and then I heard "Its basically the Ender 3 V2 with every upgrade possible" So you are the reason for my purchase of my first ever 3d printer Anycubic Vyper! Thank you sir!
Hey i was wondering how is it working out for you
Too funny, I was going to do the same thing, but now I may get the Vyper.
@@kevinlew7781 i found the ender 3v2 on their website for 220 and its been great for me:)
Same I might get the viper now
How has it worked out for you?
Wonderful review. Looks like a no-mess, no-fuss out the box printer. As a first-timer, this looks to be the ticket to the dance for me. Thanks for the great comparison between the Vyper and the v2 Ender!
I love that you explain everything from assembly to printing on these machines, I would suggest a better microphone setup though. Nicely done!
Long time balsa kit builder trying my hands on alternate build, completely new to 3D printing wasn't quite sure which to buy until I viewed this nice review, a big thank you for this!
For someone totally new to this, that was a very helpful video thank you.
Great, another printer I want. I did pick up the Artillery Sidewider XI and like it so far. Guess I need to add to my Anycubic line, 2 so far.
Nice comparison video Troy, and you are right about first time bed leveling. I’m also looking forward to seeing the airliner you are working on. I’m printing a Cessna Skymaster 337 and a Pilatus Porter PC-6 by rc3dprint. Both planes look great and are fairly easy to fly should you run out of projects to build. You would enjoy either of these.
What website do you get/buy airplane STL files?
Nice comparison, lot of interesting points. The spool holder for your sidewinder, is that attached to the printer or to the wall? Do you ever experience underextrusion because the extruder motor struggles to pull filament from the spool?
Awesome channel please keep the content coming!!! Wanted to ask, I want to buy a 3D printer and to start in printing planes as well, would the Viper be the best printer to start off with or should I spend the extra $$ and get the sidewinder or would you suggest another model in order to build a complete plane. Thanks for your reply in advance! Congrats on the channel!! 🙏🙏🙏
Thank you for doing this comparison. There’s a lot of these two models for sale on Facebook marketplace and such and I wanted to know the differences.
Just so you know, if your leadscrew is bent and wobbles, and you constrain it up top, it will add artifacts to you print. Most printers benefit in quality from removing the top braces.
The dual z, seems to sync with g34 and that pair of optic sensors, very very cool idea!
I was considering buying the CR-10 but I changed my mind when I saw how convenient anycubic was with its auto level feat...
I'm wanting to do rc planes also, new to 3d printing, mind blowing for me, after watching the video ,made my mind up now thanks
I wish the Vyper was released last month when I was looking to buy a new machine. I am still very happy with my MegaX especially now with the MicroSwiss direct drive extruder and all metal hot end installed. But auto Bed leveling etc out of the box would have been nice! I will probably add it to my MegaX in time.
by far the best review i have found !!! what filament type have you used for the grey part printed on the viper? thank you
Does the auto Leveling turn the Z Screw to adjust the errors?
or does the print moves non planar? XYZ instead of XY to compensate for angular errors?
Welp you just blew my mind. I own an ender 3 pro and was just about to pull the trigger on an ender 3 V2 when I saw this vid. At this time the Vyper is $369 on Amazon and the V2 is $279. After putting together the ender pro and taking over two hours (first printer), I think the preassemble alone is worth the money. Throw in bed leveling, better extruder, dual axis z's AND a touch screen!!?? SOLD! Thankyou so much man.
Thinking about ditching my ender 3 pro for a vyper. Or anything that autolevels. Thanks for this video, its helping me find my way!
Hi Troy
I am totally newbie, which one would you pick to print teh RC planes, this one , Artillery Sidewinder or another ?:
Thanks
Was looking at the ender 3 v2 , thank you for saving my money and trouble. I’ll wait till the viper is available in Canada. If anyone finds a reputable supplier please reply, really would appreciate it. Take care everyone , stay safe and look after your health.
Years and I found a rc guy So cool I fly on long island Just started with a ender3v2 Just printed my first modified part for my havoc .I'd love to see some of your designs .
Hello Troi. I have finaly my Anicubic Viper. But what a dissapointment. The automatic bed leveling does not work. Every time i try a get the same message on the screen: Automatic bed leveling abnormal. cut of power and check wireing. I did check the wireing several times but everething is correct connected. Do you know wat is going wrong? Or do i have to send it back to Anycubic
can i print the flexible filament in the vyper without having to change the extruder and tip like in the ender 3 v2?
Great video. I was looking at getting my first 3D printer and the Ender 3 V2 appeared to be the most popular model. However, I read about the various upgrades to the Ender 3 v2. All your points of the Vyper having all the upgrades that you would add to the Ender 3 v2 made the Vyper more desirable. It also helped that I was able to get the Black Friday/Cyber Monday price for under $300. At this price, it was a no brainer against the CR-6 SE. I received my printer and it printed nicely right out of the box. Fan is loud though.
Do you draw your planes yourself? Do you use any 3d scanners to acquire any geometry for your prints?
Great tips and advice. Think most important takeaways you demonstrated and explained the differences. Important as most printers can be upgraded, but know which features are most useful starting you greatly improves initial experience. (more printing, less tweeting and building printer stuff)
A321, that's a serious project. Any plans to build fly another ducted fan model first?
I agree! I have the a321 on the bench now, that will probably be next followed by the fouga :)
Hey Troy. Big fan of the channel. This video actually inspired me to buy the Vyper to print my first RC plane. I'm struggling with the settings and wondered in you'd be willing to share your cura profile for the Vyper? My first attempt was the Pilatus pc21 from cults3D. It did not end well 😂. Thanks,
Brian
I just ordered a Anycubic Neo to replace a Ender 3, been building planes for 40 years and after seeing your J3 print & build I ordered it, what do you recommend for Prusa settings
Do you prefer the vyper or the super racer for thin wall rc plane printing with LW-LPA
is it possible to tweak Anycubic Vyper I want to put an laser/CNC extruder ? thanks
How loud is the vyper? I don’t have a spare room to put it in and I’d like to sleep. I was thinking of building an enclosure anyway though
which 3d printer would you recommend as the first 3d printer? for hobbies.
Great comparison, thanks for this video.
Thank's pal!!!
Hi, would you recommend the vyper over the artillery genius?
Troy, This was a great comparison. I am thinking about getting the Vyper. I just was hoping you could tell me, after this time, do you still love this printer and also was this a sponsored video? Thank you again, Troy. It was very informative.
Hi there!
But what would be your cohoise between Anycubic Mega S/İ3 and Mega zero 2.0(SE). Thanks in advance!
I haven't found anywhere online but does somebody knows can VYPER print with 0.25mm or 0.6mm nozzle? everywhere I read there is only 0.4mm nozzle for it
I just got the anycubic viper I'm brand new to 3d printing I will say for some one with 0 knowledge in 3d printing and very basic tech skills I have been able to print fairly easily and decent quality items
do you have a sharable print file for your filament wheel stands?
the ender 3 v2 glass plate has a good coating on it, i wash mines with warm water only, and find when the bed cools down things just pop off it freehand without removing the plate from the bed. no need for sprays or glues etc. try it out, if it works theres a video for you to make. if something is shallow . hard to grab i do take my scraper to 1 corner to start it coming off but thats the only exception. i probably will
thanks for the video, interesting comparisons between the two
I recently purchased a previously returned anycubic kobra max and not quite similar to my ender 3. I will say the anycubic support might be worse, trying to get parts can be more expensive on the anycubic, and trying to get a specific part like the max's hotend board has been unavailable online, auto leveling works but judging by postings it seems very prone to failure. Also dust on filament and dog hair, gets in the extruder which needs cleaning its nice to be able to quickly scrape the plastic dust off the extruder gear and get back to printing at a decent speed
Does anyone else have an issue where if you try to print something or use the auto bed leveling, the printer just turns off and turns on again? Thanks.
So much better than balsa and vinyl wrap. Been out of the hobby for many years, but this might be the beginning of something wonderful.
its a good time to get back into it! there are so many cool designs out there and printers are easy to use and work with! a good printer, pla and you are ready to go!
Hi nice video just wonder if the Viper is possible to install a Laser engraving ?
after two months of use, what do you think of the vyper ?
Just stumbled across your channel today. I must say awesomeness!!! Wifes tired of me watching Ur videos that passenger jet liner crash made me sick to my stomach but you srugged it off. Crashes happen I know but man that was well is a beautiful plane! I have a vyper and been looking at printing rc planes off myself. Do you have a Cura or Prusa profile to share? I've been tinkering with the slicers and settings. I haven't yet printed any thin wall prints yet but looking forward to it. If you had any profiles to share I would really appreciate it!
bought both! the vyper just work! the Ender need some more work but love that one to :)
I'd love to see a review on the Anycubic 3D Printer Kobra Neo. Just bought one discounted to $199.00 this amazes me considering the features. Can use open source Cura too. Currently have a Flashforge Adventurer Pro, the thing is bombproof although I guess It's a little overpriced. Although it prints ABS great. Wanted to try a direct extruder just to see what's up, the FForge is Bowden. Love those aircraft models! They bring back great memories of Dad and I in the 1960's although they were balsa, lacquer and paper then..
does the vyper have thermal runaway protection?
Thanks for sharing this with us!, could you please ma a video on how to 3d model and pri t a propeller? Thank you.
Please tell me how you acquire your plane plans?
Awesome video. Would you consider sharing the files for printing the airplanes? Especially the Airliner you're starting to print.
The Anycubic is looking to be a good buy for my first printer.
So...which one has better print quality from both..?
So Viper seems better than Ender v2 but is it better than Ender S1? i can't decide whin one i should buy. Ender 3 S1 or the Viper?
I bought the Ender 3v2 and have put $200 already from the $279 I paid on Amazon...now I got this one The Vyper on Ebay for $329 on a Male an offer deal and got it... I love it!! It's so much better than the Ender even after the upgrades!!!
i wish this was available when i got the cr-6 se i like the extra real state and someof the features on it seems like a solid printer specialy now that amazon has it on sale....wish i had more room to add one next to the cr-6
The proper comparison should be with a CR6SE lol.
?
what?
Great video Troy looks like a plug n play printer. That A320 looks like a big model, looking forward to that. Have you built any of the Eclipson flying wings? I build mainly with my own design CNC Foam cutter but I'm keen to try a 3d printed plane.
I haven't tried any of the wings from Eclipson! There are tons of easy to begin with 3D printed planes, nearly all from Eclipson! You should try it out :) The big A321 will be out in the next couple weeks
How does the Vyper hold against the Mega X
may i ask which one is quieter?
Thank you for this review
which one you recommend more?
any opinion about the fan noise? i want one in my bedroom! lol
Where can you buy this in Canada?
Hmm they need to take the quality of vyper and just make it bigger to something like the Chiron. Chiron is great but the probing auto leveling feels a lot to desire.
I kinda like the chiron system though. I leveled it properly once and then i just correct the heigh in the printer globally when i change the nozzle. It holds pretty well the level. Anyway chiron was an improvement in many details from the mega and i think vyper keeps the tendency.
were can i find your rc plane STL files?
Still saving almost 50.00 with the purchase of an auto level system for the Ender. More advanced users would prb lean towards the Vyper but beginners would benefit from the large community and all the add-ons including wi-fi for only 10.00. I do admit the touch screen is nice! Great video comparison.
Do you mean the raspberry pi?
How does it compare to the Artillery?
great video .... i need pick one Artillery Genius or Viper ??? thx friend
wouldn't it be a fair battle if vyper was compared to cr-6 (which has a closer price point compared to the 3v2)?
seems viper made a good choice of placing the filament roll low not on the top. That take the weight off the top. logical. like the auto level with Anycubic viper out of the box great idea for novice owners of the viper
It says they wont be available in the USA until April??
Hey chief great video, quick question do you know if the CR10 V3 has a self leveling system, I need a larger build volume and I am struggling so bad to get the leveling right, Ive been trying for almost 2 weeks now I am just about ready to pack it up and send it back to amazon, any help would be greatly appreciated or even if you know of a larger printer that can be upgraded with self leveling system 300x300x400mm is what I am seeking.
I'm not sure if it has self leveling, I have a 3d printing basics video on my channel that shows in depth how to level a bed.are you trying to print planes? you would never need that large of a bed!!
Ender 3 v2 or ender 5 pro what is the best plz help me 🤔🤔🤔🤔
I know that it has autoleveling but that is a softwaretool which adjusts the coordinatesystem according to the bed (from what i understood). But the printbed doesnt seem to have any screws for adjustments. can i manually level the bed if it gets to uneven for the software or if the sensor fails?
no you cannot manually level it, but you can set the z offset if it needs adjustment
which print is good?
Does it also have a stupid cheap fan that nullifies all upgrades just like the ender 3 v2?
Hi,
Do you remember the size of box vyper? H x L x W and weight
As this would be my first 3d printer, I'd like to be sure there is an active and quite large community of enthusiasts around this model to search for solutions to problems. Is it the case?
Just bought an Enders 3 v2 with BlTouch for £100 less than the vyper.
but as you say , For the beginner the Vyper looks and performs very nice and easy to get up and running. but the smaller & cheaper stepper motors of the Vyper will be an issue later on.
Shame that the enders don't have a Touch screen as that is a more modern upgrade. and guess thats where the extra money is needed.
so really if i had the spare £100 i would have gone with the Vyper after seeing this video.
may be in a years time you can do another review on the Vyper and share your experience on using it.
I have a creality cr-6 se.... and I also own a Anycubic vyper. Both are basically the same thing. vyper is anycubics answer to the cr-6. Both are awesome printers. personally I favor the cr-6 only because it has the capability to print a lot faster than the vyper.
100 mm/s vs 180 mm/s. other than that both are very capable 3d printers.
Looks like a great printer. New-years sale going on for $329 from Anycubic. Are you still liking it, nothing broke...? Very well done review
Hey Troy. New to 3D printing. I have the Viper, have not even set it up yet. I am a Bonanza pilot, fly a F35 1954 V tail. I like your printing of planes, very cool. I’d love to print a Bonanza someday. Great video.
set it up yet?
You should be able to just unplug the fil. runout detector. If you unplug it , it will just act like it doesn't have one.
Amazing
So after watching this video I was starting to second guess my order on the Ender 3 V2, and for a $100 more, the Vyper seems like a decent printer. But I had to slow down, and also I think the Ender will teach me how to care for things better. But perhaps in the future I will upgrade to the Vyper. Thanks for sharing, and keep these vids coming!
On second thought, I cancelled the order on the Ender, Vyper it is! Cheers
@@RCPlaneAddict I did the same thing. Got my vyper last week and loving it. How do you like yours? I don't regret not getting a ender 3 one bit
@@shanes1083 oh it’s amazing. No regrets
Very nice unboxing
Thanks a lot for do not print a Benchy like aaaaall others youtubers 😄. Nice comparison but seems a little unbalanced to me, being the owner of 2 Anycubic's printers ( i3+ and Chiron).
My personnal conclusion: all that remains is to add an insulation under the Vyper's bed and it will propell any Beginner to Maker level.
To be fair the Neo I bought has that autolevel now :P I am getting mine in two days and it has every thing but touch screen I guess they took notes from viper...
So, the Vyper versus the new Ender 3 S1?
Interesting, can you tell us more about how the ABL works on the Vyper? They probe with the nozzle? Where is the sensor? 11:01 Why do you need to set the distance between the extruder and the buildplate?
What Suicide Kyd said! :)
Can anyone tell me the height of Anycubic Vyper?
Thanks for this video. I've been trying to do as much research as possible before pre-orders go up on the 10th. From what I can tell, this thing is absolutely worth it, and might arguably be the best printer in its price range.
I absolutely agree, and I would highly recommend it!
isnt the ender 3 S1 more of a comparison?
Great video, thank you. Just a question: do you think the auto calibration should be done before any prints or seems to last a bit?
Oh, you only need to do it once whenever you physically move the printer to a different location. otherwise, only the first time and that is all :)
Thanks for the Q&A.
Once the bed is level it's level, unless you move the printer. With the Prusa mk3, it does a quick level check b4 ea. print, surely this machine does the same?
Finally, an out of the box beginner printer that just works!
I still don't like the fact that the Bowden and wiring are fed through the frame from behind i.s.o. from the front. There is always a risk of a pinch point.
It's good I've had mine over a week ots solid haven't seen any risk of pinching or anything. Was up and running in 10 min
@TaiRone Wassup that is why an ender would work great for you!! Tonssss of upgrades :)
@@zombiej79 it is literally the easiest printer I have set up
@TaiRone Wassup The ender is a great one for that
It does work amazing straight out of the box. I haven't had any problems with pinching, so I would say the risk is small.
