"Warm" vs. "Cool" Colors

- In this video I try to explain the difference between "warm" and "cool" colors. Warm colors are Reds, Oranges, and Yellows.... hues that remind us of sunshine, fire and warmth. Cool colors are those on the opposite half of the color wheel.... colors like Purples, Blues, and Greens that make us think of cool grass, water, or ice.

Cool colors are my jam. I was born in December and my favorite season is winter, so I more closely associate to those colors. As a result, my favorite colors are blue, purple, and green.

Orange warm and Cyan cool
Red warm and Aquamarine cool
Amaranth (Pink-red) medium and Green medium
Purple cool and Lime (Yellow-green) warm
Blue cool and Yellow warm
Cyan cool and Orange warm
See every warm is in combination with a cool colour and mediums tend to be the most beautiful with each other.

It's so strange, color has real temperature and energy vibration movement. Yet, when it comes to stars, BLUE IS HOTTEST, RED IS COLDEST. Why is this? Does anyone know?

How come purple isn't considered the coolest? Blue's in the middle. Red is considered the warmest, as it's on an edge. So is purple, so why isn't that the coolest?
Favorite color of all hues, regardless of "-ary" word *or* temperature: green
Favorite warm (and primary) color: red
Anyway, based on purple being on the farthest edge of the "cool color" section and red being on that of the "warm color" section, I would consider colors like magenta, fuchsia, or any other purplish red a "freezer burn" color.
As for yellowish green colors like chartreuse or spring green, I'd call *those* "room temperature" colors due to mixing the coolest warm, yellow, and the warmest cool, green, and room temperature is not warm *or* cool.

sorry to point this out but Red is not the warmest color in the color wheel, since it is close to a cool color: Blue. Both create
when combined create Violet/Burgundy/Bordeaux, which is a Cool Red or a Warm Blue ( red violet is warmer than blue violet). That leave us with the WARMEST COLOR in the color wheel, one you did not talk about much, one that according to my screen color calibration you are wearing: ORANGE. On one side it as Yellow a warm color and on the another it has Red, there is not cool orange ....Cool Yellow? Yellow green. Just check the split color wheel you presented, red is in both sides , yellow too

I'm having trouble finding the warm blues from the cool blues and warm reds from the cool reds in my palate. Can you clarify this for me?
I like orange, baby pink, and purple/blue, baby yellow, and silver. For dressed as though, I adore nature earth colors, brown, dark green, with cream tans and leather tans of brown, yellow, tan. Green looks best on me. Dark greens like the forest trees. Red shirts with blue jeans or white shirts with blue jeans, leather jacket, and I'm happy.

Wouldn't the warmest be orange? It's in the middle of the warm half.
Blue isn't the coolest color, it's Cyan.
By the way, what's the perpendicular counterpart to warm and cool colors? Is it bright colors (Chartreuse) vs deep colors (Indigo or 270° Hue)?

If the red value of the color is higher than the blue value of the color this is a warm color, otherwise this is a cool color; green gray and magenta are neutral. In printing if the yellow value is higher than the cyan value this is a warm color and otherwise this is a cool color.

Green is not really the easiest on the eye. We have more green cones than red or blue ones, so green looks brighter.

It's going to kill it! The isolation,cold feel (as in space) I mean. How did I do it?. Not a clue!

Fluorescence is a property of how light is absorbed or reflected (how bright it appears). We often refer to fluorescent colors as “hot” (hot pink, hot green, etc) but this is to describe the intensity and vibrancy, and not the color or color family itself.
