I think that has to be the most noticeable upgrade I've seen so far from a comparison video. I'm definitely pick up the box set when it's released at the end of the month (UK)

Sick! What a difference. I love the colors correction that bring mood to the movie. It's clear that the Blu ray has removed a lot of color. So bringing it back in 4K, perfect. I'll definitely buy the full box set. I have to.

It should be on amazon or target. Mad Max 2 and 3 were just released on individual 4K discs, along with a boxset of all the films.
First of all what a remarkable difference and second of all what a remarkable effort you go to to make these videos.
This looks amazing on my lg oled. For a laugh I had a look at it on my Huawei phone that pretends it can do HDR (it really can't).
Are you able to make a few of the comparisons flick back and forth a few times? Or can you do a short repeating video sequence (one or two seconds, without sound)?

New transfer looks stunning, thank you for the comparisons! What did you think of the audio? I heard the original 2.0 track might actually be a downmix and the Atmos mix has a lot of revisionism.
Well the Dolby Atmos is rather surprising there is a good specialization in the speakers but is not a great reference in the matter either.
Hardly anything drastic a few improvements actually more realistic but some softening of some soft effects like tyres screeching in the scene at the start when he comes across the tanker and comes to a sudden halt I had to compare to the Dts version and the Atmos track while it's still there it's too soft and when Wez gets shot with the arrow they took away the almost air explosion sound effect to what sounds more like sometime that would be air fired not as dramatic and Wez getting hit with soft thud , and when the supercharger fires up on Max's interceptor it makes an engine rumble effect if you haven't seen the movie in years and haven't seen it 100 times you would have to compare soundtracks to notice anything significant has changed has changed so its definitely not enough to say it's not an enjoyable track because it is , lots of movies have had updated sound effects like The Terminator his infer red scope handgun that effect was changed on its DVD release it sounded like Dirty Harry's 44 originally then it was changed to a more realistic Auto handgun effect but maybe for this release they should have had two tracks the original unchanged but in Atmos and the updated version so people can have the one they prefer they should know by now die hard fans hate change to what they saw originally and heard originally v
Did they fix any of the dialogue levels? In some scenes it’s really hard to hear what Papagallo is saying, on the blu ray release anyway.
Def re-graded to be consistent with Fury Road, but that title card looks pretty washed out to me.

Does anyone know if the new (1080p) Blu ray disc in the new set has the old transfer? Great comparisons as always.
So the new 4k set comes with an old blu ray disc? Or is the Blu-ray in the new set a downscale of the 4k version? Thanks.
