I am in Fredericksburg,VA where would I find the Expandable frame, could you give me the brand, model ,specs that you used for the demonstration. This will be going in my recording studio.I am changing my doors. My door with customizing will weigh about 255lbs.I will be using a solid core slab door with no knots ,locks.I’ll be using a push ,pull plate to get in and out of the area. What are the best door closers for this type of door?Thank you ,enjoyed the video!!!!!
Home Depot is Ok for what they already have in stock, but when ordering not in stock steel doors, I hear lots of negative talk on damages when delivered. As for Exterior Armor, they show up as cleveland support.
Great video, I'm sure you know by now but incase you don't Home Depot has air bags for lifting heavy items. They work fabulously for hanging doors. They take all the swearing out of the work
@@uptokode Ok,let's assume I'm not using the right search words; What USA Supplier near Beaumont, TX could I contact or check out their website to order a couple of them? I'm sure there are others who want to know this Supplier information, too. -Gregg
@@derekjordan1958 I went on their website (MDI Supply) and found steel slab doors but nothing on the expandable jambs. They don't even post a phone number. Thanks for helping with information.
I’m way up in Canada so I have no idea! You could try searching for welded steel frames. That’s one style of jamb. Once you find a supplier you can ask about the knock down expandable frames.
Baron Frames. We use them a lot. Just like the video one. 2 different adjustable widths 4.5-7.25 and 7.25-12.12"
Thanks for chiming in. I do like installing these types of doors.
VERY helpful video. Thank you. Just curious how on how long, start to finish, is installation for this frame + door?
30-40 minutes once you get a rhythm going. It’s pretty easy after you’ve done 1 or 2.
@@uptokode Right on. Thanks!
No problem
Nice work. Thanks.
You’re welcome Roger
Good Job. Really helpful video
Thanks for letting me know!
Good work
Thank you!

What is the brand of the door frame. I need info of the brand
I don’t actually know the brand. Sorry. I bought these from “Allmar”
Can I use this type door on exterior ?
Yes you can and yes I have. I throw some batts of insulation between the frame and my opening. And don’t forget to buy an insulated door. Cheers.

Ayyy this looks better! 👍
Thanks! And I appreciate you mentioning the low resolution. I have a new assistant and there’s a lot to this all.
No onsite modification is allowed on fire doors. other than that good work
Or, you can order the correct size frame. Expandable frames are always flimsy.
any one with a grinder can get through those doors
Difficult to find a USA Supplier. Search results in steel Door Suppliers has them thinking Expandable Steel Door Frames as a "Fantasy!"
mdisupply, i just ordered one
Perhaps my terminology is wrong, but there’s definitely suppliers in the USA.
