Working my way towards you build, getting close. Still have scorps and the birds, but recently started playing with the Spriggan form. The only thing that feels slightly bad is I'm feeling rushed while in tree form, because I'm having a hard time keeping it. I only have 6 vines max (not sure when they go up, you mentioned maybe having 9?), and unless I keep pushing really fast, it's hard to stay in Spriggan form.
You mentioned a unique very quickly in passing that allows you to 'stay' in that form permanently, but wasn't necessary for the build. I would very much like to know what that item is, so I (and my friends) can keep an eye out for it.
Logged in to check. The item is "Tears of the Forest" unique turquoise amulet. Gives 2 rage per second per vine.
And max large vines is 6 by default, not sure if there is a way to increase that.

Wait... you can put points into other masteries... and use their abilities??
Yes, you can put points into things other than what you specialize in, up until the halfway point in the tree (the chain)

is there a reason to go mixed dmg sources (physical, poison, cold) and not just 1 like cold?
In this case, the primary stat I'm building is + minion damage or + minion dot damage, which benefits all of those.

My biggest complaint about this game is the items look plain and uninspired
