    This was definitely one of the best tutorials I've watched on making something 3d using foam core board. You were clear, to the point and gave very easy to follow instructions. Your video should be used as an example on how to create a UA-cam tutorial! Seriously. Wonderful job! Thanks for the tutorial and inspiration. 😊

    OMG!!!!! This was so much easier than what I've been seeing. I will definitely invest in a projector. Thank you for sharing this! Will send you what I do when it's done! Thank you!

    If you have a Cricut, you can also make the numbers the desired size, slice sections off, and piece together after you cut to use as a stencil to trace, that's how I do it because I don't have a projector.

    Very easy to understand and follow. Even without a projector, just tracing the numbers or letters by hand and using this method of construction, one can accomplish a great result. Thanks for sharing.

    I love this. But I want one to hold up the table. I’m doing BABY. Any suggestion on how to make it sturdy? N hold everything up??

    • @EventAnswer
      @EventAnswer  5 років тому +2

      I don't think this design would hold a table. You could take the same approach and use plywood or MDF I. Place of the foam board and use 2x2" as the supports between the front and back. That would support a table. I've also seen designs that are made from solid foam and I think that would work as well.

      Use foam cups stacked in between the letter. theres a video showing how. you just cant use it for multiple uses.

      Insert foam cups

    • @EventAnswer
      @EventAnswer  3 роки тому +1

      The numbers are sturdy enough to stand on their own, but if you are worried about them being tipsy incase someone bumps them. You can attach a piece of foam core to the bottom that extends 6" behind the number creating a foot. them put a weight on top of the foot like a sand bag, exercise weight or event a canned food item. If you are asking if you can put glass on top of the numbers and use them as the base of a table, I would not recommend that, even with cups on the inside. The numbers you see on pinterest that are supporting a table are probably made of wood or fiberglass. My design isn't intended to hold that much weight. I hope that helps. Good luck on your party!

    Hi, thank you for such a lovely video. I want to try this, but want your opinion first. Can I make a 5 ft tall number using this projector?

    • @EventAnswer
      @EventAnswer  4 роки тому

      I would think so. You should be able to focus the projector to give a legible line to follow. What an exciting project!

    • @EventAnswer

      It is a 30x40" board 1/8" thick.

    FANTASTIC!
    Just two questions - - - did you have to transport these numbers to a location? What precautions or what did you use to assure the numbers did not get crushed during transport?

    • @EventAnswer
      @EventAnswer  4 роки тому +3

      I didn't transport these in particular, but I've transported a bunch of foam core props. You have to protect the foam board from being dented, especially corners, and the whole piece from being crushed. I cover large foam pieces with fleece blankets or if they are small enough put them in a box when moving items. These items are always the last thing in the car and first out.

    Just wondering ...could you use the foam around the sides instead of poster board?

    • @EventAnswer
      @EventAnswer  4 роки тому +1

      The foam board is more rigid than the poster board, so it wouldn't bend around the curves like the poster board. You could use the foam board if you cut scores across the board that would allow it to bend. I didn't do this because you can see all the cuts on the outside.

    Where can I find the Foam Core this large? My local craft store doesn’t carry it

    • @EventAnswer
      @EventAnswer  4 роки тому

      Oh dang. Most foam board that large is only sold in stores because it is so costly to ship. I found mine at Hobby Lobby if you have one near you. I've also gotten it at sign makers shops or university art stores because design and architecture students use it for modeling. You could also ask your craft store if they will order some in for you.

    You spray paint the foam?

    • @EventAnswer
      @EventAnswer  4 роки тому

      I didn't but you can. You have to use light coats. If you spray it on too heavy, it can bubble the paper on the foam board.

    How can I enlarge the numbers or a name without a projector?

    • @EventAnswer
      @EventAnswer  4 роки тому +2

      Absolutely! That was the easiest way I found, but if you don't have one you could try making the number poster size on the computer and tile printing it. You could also hand draw it. If you aren't confident in hand drawing you can use the grid system to help keep your proportions true. Once you hand draw the first one, cut it out and use it to trace the second piece so they will be a true match to each other. Happy making!
