Watching the Haka (male and female) gives me the shivers ! It is a fantastic cultural expression of strength and commitment. I have witnessed many Hakas and every time I am mesmerized by the expression of power and determination. Absolutely fab cultural tradition.
Beautiful Haka, Lady Blacks .. "Let it be known .. Who are these women .. [from this place and that place and that place] .. To transfer from the heavens .. to the world of enlightenment .. Life Force From Above .. Life Force From Below [earth] .. The gathering clouds .. the mountains that pierce the sky .. let us [fly] to the seas .. from the corners of the island .. to the islands [of our neighors] .. and around the world .. stand tall and proud .. Women of Strength .. Who will bear the future .. Rise and Press on .. We will gather together and unite .. Strength Together .. It will be done ..
Same for me! I'm still crying! Especially because someone shared it comparing these women to the mothers defending their children from getting injected with lethal poison!!
I am from Canada and have exactly no connection to this culture… other than I find it beautiful and captivating to see this tradition preserved, and even respected by both its people and by the world. Props to New Zealand for preserving the culture of the Māori and doing their best to honour it!
I don't know from which part of Canada you're from, mate - as I am also Canadian, but I share your opinion. It might be exagerated to say this, but being rugby players mean to improve some skills in maori. I wish there would be similar in Canada, where there would be something emphasizing (at least some) First Nations languages, since the national anthem have both English and French.
un magnifique chant qui vient du fond des âges pour bouclier face à l'adversaire qu'il soit sportif ou guerrier, c'est indiscutablement un booster d'énergie, de détermination et de force ! BRAVO - belle culture !
It is an amazing chant, from the first time I hear it i couldn't stop watching it again and again... big respect to you and I hope this wonderful culture will remain for ages ahead
The one from the Olympics today was amazing! Came here to show my husband what he missed. I appreciate the subtitles, as I only know a few words in te reo Maori
beautiful and bloody scary at the same time. I would have been pissing myself playing them after that! (But then i think that was the point with warriors years ago)
King Tawhiritau Tawhakou & The 37 Maori People And Capitain Abel Tasman And The 33 Dutch Sailors Fight. June 21st, 2021, The THX Logo Finally Meets It's Demise.
It's not that good dude, besides, the meaning behind these lyrics is kinda meh. Ka Mate has ancient history behind it and deeper meaning. Composed by a great Chief and leader of our people. There's no gender rules about Ka Mate, so the women could have used that too.
i feel you cuz, here are these All Blacks who say since kids they dreamed of being ABs , then get the chance of being 1 to get out on the field and say "car matey car matey car rolla car rolla " like wtf is that ? so you didnt have the respect well growing up to take note of the haka decades of AB have performed and some just as bad!!!! these wahine are the best thing to happen to rugby, at last some heart and not just a pay check.
Americans please leave the room.... you won't understand culture... where real women makes faces you would deem as silly as not instagram poses.... these are real women of culture... respect!
Thank you for the subtitles! This is absolutely incredible.
That's what I said!! Yeah
Turiki! Turiki!
Paneke! Paneke!
No matter how many times I watch this it still gives me goosebumps
The violent looks on their faces is enough to disqualify the game. .
Women ☕️
Looks funny
May have given you the goosebumps but gave me the geesebumps!
I get cringebumps at every haka 🥲

0:50 Lol, they had to specify 'earth' in parentheses so people wouldn't assume it meant hell.
This comment section is respectful and intelligent... the same video's comments on Instagram are full of misogyny and racism
