Hey guys Alex here, I just wanted to provide some additional info regarding the tournaments format, specifically how each roster is composed of an all asian roster +/- an import. This tournament has been running for a few years now and has been hosted as a way to celebrate Asian Heritage Month (The boys played these matches in May, we just a lil behind oops). Hopefully that provides some more insight on why the rosters are the way they are. I apologize for not having explained that in the video!
MARRCOOOO. You could easily hit over the block - if you would change your armswing. Most of the time, your timing is off (you're too early, thus you fall WITH the ball). And you try to compensate it with your insane vert. But sometimes that isn't enough 15:34 is a good example. Or 8:10.. You can either 1) change your armswing - Right now you're doing a "windmill". But you could change it to a "bow" --> bring your ELBOW up to your eyelevel --> keep it there! --> stretch your elbow as hard as you can and then HIT IT! - Windmill is more power but the timing is hard, since you have to do "half a circle" of an armswing. - bow is more control and better timing, since you only have to do "a quarter of a circle" of the armswing. (so this is almost very good 11:45, and everyone immediately senses the change in the hit.) Or 2) you can just do your approach a bit later than usual. Obviously it's just my opinion. I had the same armswing as you and just wanted to share my realisations, much love
Appreciate the feedback dude! I still have lots to learn and tons of bad habits to fix. My timing and arm swing are my two biggest concerns. So any feedback I get, I’ll be sure to learn from it and do my best to work at it. Much love to you ✊🏽
banger tip, I've also had this problem without even knowing why I'm always hitting the net until someone pointed out that my elbow is always low when I'm hitting so I ended up hitting it way lower than I could
ya all have any tips, i have a problem whenever i'm against a blocker i just go blind and all i see is the ball, that is why im having a hard time to work around the blocks and relay on my swing to power through the ball but ofcourse i got block alot like for real.
Can we talk about how high this man jumped at exactly 6:48. I've seen him test his vert already, but being able to gaze upon it again is CRAZY!! Miracle jumper right there, I'm jealous but absolutely in aw. LOVEEEEE!!
LETS GOO JERSEYYYSSS 🔥🔥 LIKE THE ONES THAT I SUGGESTEDD 😎 looks very cool and fire bro.. surely this tournament you guys are gonna get the W ❗❗ LET'S GET ITT

I've been watching this channel for a while now and I've come to notice that you only hit into the block on outside hits. For someone who jumps as high as you do you can easily hit over the block into deep corners or find cross and line. Im not sure if its your swing or your approach but its confusing to me.
He cant hit over block everytime thats just not possible. They'd get a touch on it or he'd swing out youd be surprised how high you have to get to hit straight over block
Yee I’m trying to get out of it. I still have a lot to learn, so keep the feedback coming 😈. I’ll be sure to work on arm swing this summer and hopefully things will get better from there
I think you guys need to start running quicker tempos. It's objectively and physically easier to hit a lower ball that's traveling horizontally. What's making it hard is just some mental block, train and get over it. Instead of Up up up or High high high, do Go go go and Quick quick quick, how cool would that be? Because right now you're just giving your opponent time to set up block.
Thanks for the feedback :) I am trying to hit more diagonally and/or around the block. I have much to learn. So hopefully things work out in the near future :)
Hey! I just made a pinned comment to address your statement. I forgot to include in the intro that this tournament is hosted as a way to celebrate Asian Heritage Month, hence why the rosters are the way they are. hope that explains it! - alex

I'm a bit similar, i go off too early and try to compensate with my vert expect I have no vert
