If I had discovered cruising younger in life and had the finances The Nordhaven 56 motor sailor is the boat that I would choose for many reasons. I’ve been drooling over this boat since I first saw it, I’m so envious. Thanks for the opportunity to tour another MS 56😁
I absolutely LOVE this video… for several reasons. First of all John’s wry sense of humor with the subtle Canadian twang is hilarious and had me smiling all the way thru. Ken did a great job teasing the humor out of John. On another level, I was SO happy to see our beloved MS56 presented in her glory. I am with the PAE/Nordhavn company and all of us at Nordhavn just love this model. We didn’t sell as many as we had wished, but we always knew that the MS56 was a brilliant technical success and just needed to be understood by people like John. The 10,000 mile non-stop passage? Yep.. it for sure is possible with this amazing boat. Ken.. may we have your permission to post this video on the Nordhavn web site? Sail on Migaloo!
Thanks Dan! You designed and made a great boat. It really does bridge well between a trawler and sailboat. We’ve added a few things to sustain ourselves indefinitely on summer anchorages (solar & wind power). I have no complaints about our Nordhavn 56 motor trawler and appreciate what Nordhavn has accomplished with it’s design.
I’ve watched many of the MS56 video tours and sea trials, but what I love is seeing it being lived in! Even something as simple as cooking breakfast in the galley and sitting down to eat and chat at the dinette. Perfect! My dream boat actually, but no way I could ever afford one. This sailing trawler design with the hundestedt (sp?) makes so much sense to me that I cannot believe that more sailors haven’t purchased one.
I love nordhavns, great boat. I had no idea they made a sail vessel.. love John's sense of humor.. you two are funny together. You would think you guys guys grew up together
Interesting yacht, didn't realise Nordhavn have a motor sailor version. Would be interesting to hear why they chose this yacht over other yachts as one would have many options at their price point. Although I get the impression it's a very sturdy boat that could be taken to very remote destinations.
Great great video Great people you really made my day with this one, Love Nordhavn and you made a great comprehensive tour for it ,im pretty sure this video will have a lot of views! this one needs to be watched more than one time....its really worth every minute. thanks again for sharing this take care all looking forward to the next one Cheers
What an interesting boat! I wonder how she behaves sailng and on rough seas. Is it fiberglass or aluminium? And your friends, oh, htere's nothing more I can say about them than what others have already said. must be very fun to spend time with them! My best!
Ok, that's just sweet! And what a great idea cooking with the waffle and bacon at the same time! What brand was the waffle maker? Like everything on this SV, even the kitchen is well thought out.
Mixed feelings about the boat - love the idea but areas like the galley have shrunk to allow for the massive engine room. Maybe its the lens as 1k sq ft is a lot. I also know they are expensive. More than a comparable Oyster for example
I know the Nordhavn 56 would be a great home on anchor or in the marina. Would really like to see how she sails. Maybe we will get the chance in the next few months.
Hello captain, I don't understand why you introduced this boat. It did not suit the character of a real sailor and sailor like you. The owner of the boat does not have a sailor type anyway, and his boat is in the middle just like its own character. I don't think this boat deserves that mast. Take the pole off and go on your way. The only thing he understands from sailing is making waffles. It's a very ugly boat. Greetings from Bodrum, Türkiye. You have approached the most beautiful seas of the world. You should definitely see Bodrum and Gökova Bay.
Really, I am unsure what a "real sailor" is .. I am a traveler who primarily uses sails to power the relocation of my home. Seems these days too many people argue about definitions of words. But, I have always said I am not a Real Sailor, I just know a little bit about sailing... And I like it! And I really like Migaloo, and would like to see how she sails. Fair Winds my friend!
I think we should to ask other captains that have crossed oceans, what they do with Glass, Metal, and Paper... Please respond below only if you have made the Pacific, Indian or Atlantic crossings... Thanks.
I can't afford the boat, but I'm out shopping for a new waffle maker...
🤣🤣🤣
Well, it's been a year. What is the review on that waffle maker?

What a beautiful boat. John is a very pleasant gentleman with a great personality!
Gentleman? He only gave me 2 gold stars! A gentleman would have offered at least 3!
I miss you 2, 2 months without a video so watching a tour
Great video. The guy is a natural for video
Yes. Indeed
from playa del carmen, base in white rock bc,....goood fun video of a solid boat
Very nice intro music.
I’m with you on those doors… it’s the little details in life that make all the difference. Nice boat.
Thanks for the nice comment
John was an absolute trip awesome boat tour and interview Ken!! You guys were awesome together loved the whole video!!
We really like the crew aboard Migaloo
Found myself smiling throughout, what a boat! Zombie plan winner.
Wow so glad to find this video. Loved everything about the boat and the owners are a riot. New Zealand 🇳🇿
Best tour guide! Love his humor
Yes, we had a great time together!
Bacon waffles 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 This is called Kens Raw Bacon Waffle!!! 😂😂😂 love the humor between you two.
Hey I I’m just listening to the intro music over and over with my hounds
3:07....Hey Skipper, we have something in common, I also have several pairs of those socks.😂😂😂
Nice vessel by the way.👍
I've spent the last 7 years refitting a Cal 2-46 ketch. She's everything I'd hoped she'd be... and the 56MS is the only boat I'd trade her for. :)
I love nordhavns, great boat. I had no idea they made a sail vessel.. love John's sense of humor.. you two are funny together. You would think you guys guys grew up together
We're brothers from different mothers!
Ok watched the whole thing and it was good
Share it in LOTS of places if you really liked it! Cheers

Glad you enjoyed it

This is my dream boat...😊
Dreams do come true ☺️😉
Enjoyable segment!
👍
Awesome boat and a super nice family!
Yes, we really enjoyed hanging out with John and Cora!
Damn awesome video, beautiful boat video, love the boat.
That boat is an awesome vessel!
Capt'n Ken finally met his sarcastic match! Hahahahaha
It took me a few days to figure out how much I liked John. He's one cool cat!
EPIC!!
Cool story,
Nice Boat if ya can afford😜 Personally, I would still prefer a Ketch…Continue to Stay Safe and Enjoy😎
Every boat has some good, and some bad. I like both the Amel SM, and Nordhavn 56. But, I can only afford one of them. :)
Hilarious. Great video
Glad you enjoyed it
I love the layout of these boats!
Nice boat...curious if you can have it built with those "divides" in the windshield? I'd be cross-eyed I think driving that beaut
Love it! My take of a MAN CAVE
Are they still being made? Is there any larger hulls that can be adapted to be made into a motor sailing vessel ?
Lekker man lekker 🇿🇦
Thanks for watching ☺️
Nordhaven are a more expensive Amel. Good boat tour like you once did on mine.. Cheers.
Yes, the Nordhavn is an expensive well built boat.
no trash should go overboard. not even glass or metal. it just does not belong on the seabed
Glass and metal were in the sea bed and became glass and metal genius
Seriously?
What an interesting boat! I wonder how she behaves sailng and on rough seas. Is it fiberglass or aluminium? And your friends, oh, htere's nothing more I can say about them than what others have already said. must be very fun to spend time with them! My best!
Yes, we had a great time on Migaloo. I believe the hull is Fiberglass. Fair Winds
All fiber glass hull- made in Taiwan. It laughs at bug waves and keep motoring along, like all nordhavens.
Ok, that's just sweet! And what a great idea cooking with the waffle and bacon at the same time! What brand was the waffle maker? Like everything on this SV, even the kitchen is well thought out.
Well, everything, except for the heart attack, is well thought out!
@@SailingAquarius No heart attacks allowed Ken!
you guys are good. hahahahaha
Por Gentileza ATIVA A Legenda para Português Obrigado amigo....
my resolution got stuck at 360p :( Feels like 20 years ago. Did you guys uploaded the video with low resolution?
No, but we will look at this. Sorry
@@SailingAquarius Now it is playing in 4K. Sorry, must have been a problem on my side! Thank you!
Mine tried to run at 480 but I can see 4k and I forced it to run at 1080
Thanks for the heads up though!

4:24...that's what she said....
I wont be rude and declining!
❤sexy boat, but would prefer Aquarius, but awesome tour
Thanks!
Did I hear him say he throws metal food cans overboard? So sad
The metal dissolves in the salt water.
sound quality of the person behind the camera not good
Yep. He really sucks. But, he has not sunk his boat yet!
That music was the worst. This is a motor yacht.
throwing glass and metal overboard?? That's awful. WTF???? @3:15
Ashes to ashes dust to dust
@@SailingAquarius Thats a great attitude when polluting the ocean. Cheers!!!
I'm not sure they liked you so much. The vibe back and forth between you and the ladies seem (to me) so negative
Wrong! We are looking forward getting together and sailing together in Croatia 😁

How stupid is he to put glass and metall over into the see? Did he never heard from receycling? Very stupid and sad for the enviroment.

I feel sorry for you women, all that schoolboy humour, ticked my box.
They are treated well, fed a few times a day, and we take them for a walk now and then. What else could then want?
@@SailingAquarius what a faultless reply, just love it
