This has got to be one of the best looking, best overall MK6 GTI i have ever seen. The fact this owner did all the work himself (mostly) and has no experience just winged It and came out with this as a final result? One word folks... Amazing 👍👍👍👍
I chat a little with him on ig real cool dude and comes up off that info. Theres lots of people out there that keep that shit to themselves, like share the wealth.
Damn! This guy went all out with this build! And it’s all so subtle! Nothing crazy over the top until you really look! Did you guys catch all the polished trans linkage in the engine compartment? Amazing! But I wanna know where he got those interior parts! The cf center arm rest, cf e brake boot, and how did he do or get done the alcantara all over the dash?! Speechless!
This car is so sick. It deserves a full pump gas N/A engine build. If it's making around 280 now then you should have no problem making 400 with the right compression ratio, cams, and porting the head with a nice intake manifold and equal length header. Could also convert it to awd with a MK6 Golf R drivetrain and custom trans plate with a DQ500 or DQ250 DSG trans. The MK5 R32 drivetrain may possibly work as well, something worth looking into for cheaper cost and better parts car availability. Then put Motec on it for engine management and call it a day. That'd be a really unique set up.
Craaaazy build! Very cool car, nice guy, love the honesty about the trial & error. Hope he is able to fine tune the things he wants to work on. Kinda scary build too. Haha
Matt is being modest. This car gave him a shit ton of grief. Sucks I didn't know then what I knew now with my 3.2 when he asked me a bunch of questions about the swap. Could have saved him a ton of grief.
Standalone like syvecs would solve all your ecu problems only they are stupid expensive. R36 engines are pretty rare even here in Belgium where i live, i used to work for a vag parts dismantlement firm, we bought containers from wolfsburg with almost new parts from rejected cars and they had 1 3.6 vr6 in stock ,problem is they only came in the regular passats R36 and the CC R36, always wanted to put that engine into a a3 8p 3.2 but due to taxes for high displacement engines beeing high and strict modification regulations in belgium( we can't even but on bigger brakes, we got annual car inspections here) i ended up buying a 05 2.0tfsi quattro manual a3 8p (3doors you guys in the us didn't get the 3d if i am not mistaken, only the sportback which i don't like) and s3/ed30 swapped it(cdl/byd) in the end pretty happy with the ea113 2.0 it's making 414hp at the crank with a tte420 and 545nm, goes well but car is still pretty heavy for a a3 even after weight reduction like removing the aircon, recaro pole positions, rear seat delete, lighter suspension like coilovers, passat 3c front alu control arms, and lighter exhaust, it's still around 1540kg wet with me in it.But great to see this mk6 with a 3.6 in it, the sound on it's one is truelly amazing.👍✌️👉
Hi, I been gifted a wonderful mark 6 vw TSI 1.4 with a knackered seized engine. I’m thinking about doing an engine swap possibly with the S3. What would be the easiest engine swap for this car, preferably with the same mounts and bolts. Please advise
nice build :) one thing, when you installed Porsche logos on your wheels, make sure the Arrow targets the tirevalve... every one in Germany, if it comes to people who knows porsche will look at that at.
I’ll admit, this is a cool build. Especially all the non VW parts, or not mk6 parts on it. I’d still love to do a MK7 VR6 swap, and maybe make it AWD as well. But I’m dreaming.
Awesome to see another person who does a build right and isn’t scared to drive it !!!! Why do all that to your car and be scared to drive it!! I drive the crap out of my tuned 2016 MK7 GTI
Hey brother, I just swapped a BLV 3.6 into my MK5 GTI. How did you get around the coding for the ECU? Seems the automatics are hard coded. Was there any driveability issues when you got it running?
Sweet I was thinking of putting a 2013 r 14 direct injection in my mk5 r32 but I scrapped the idea because too much work involved. This is gr8 tho 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Awesome build love the VR6 engine. Had a Deep Blue Pearl MK4 R32. To bad VW won't/ didn't at least offer the VR6 engine not every one likes the four banger fart maker's. Again nice build and enjoy it 👍. Oh one more thing I would like to add/ask , wouldn't it been easier if you swapped out for the MK5 R32 engine? I believe the computer ECU would be more compatible plus there are more tuner part's for the 3.2 VR6 than the 3.6 VR6.
All the control modules in the car are tied together via CANBUS. You might be able to keep the ECM and fool it into thinking it's running the engine, then have standalone running the engine, but that's above my pay grade
@@Biggspeed If you want to keep the ABS, comfort / convenience, power windows, even dumb shit like the stereo and automatic wipers working, it's all tied to the ECU. Pull the ECU out and all the control modules in the car either don't work right or don't work at all. Every car I've seen newer than Mk3 running standalone every warning light in the cluster was on. AEM will allow you to keep drive by wire.

Im not really a big fan of that kinda drop...but the car overall looks really good...engine bay done very well...and the engine and trans 😎 well done mate
Nice build. I own an MK5 GTI that has a swapped MK6 Golf R engine with a Precision 5858 big turbo kit from CTS custom tuned. Hence it's called Half R MK5 😁😁. Would love a VR6 or 2.5 engine and BT it.

“No body work experience” dude clearly was experienced in cars.
Love this dude’s attitude

Woke up to hearing this Wookies sound every morning!! One of my favorite cars in the parking lot and the RHD Corrado 👍🏾❤️👊🏾🍻

Honest and humble guy 👍🏻
Here in Brazil we would have thrown away the stock ecu asap and installed an fueltech module to run and tune that engine!
Big money
There are far better brands than Fueltech for Stand alone ECUs.
Hey Matt,
Great GTI!!! Congratulations. I admire your hard work, intelligence, and perseverance in completing the project. Happy motoring.
I like this guy, honest and likes to drive his car. Awesome video
VR6s sound amazing. I had a mk4 Jetta GLX with a VR6 and put an after market exhaust on it. Gotta a lot of looks man!
Great series of videos, let's keep them coming, I want more.
I’m stilling trying to change my own breaks and this guy is swapping engines. Hats off
Rad! Motor swap and interior upgrades look dope man!
This exact MK6 GTI Reminds me of one by these guys at LuftTechnik in Coral Springs FL
That's looks so good.
How can the engine bay look so empty like that? Battery? Coolant reservoir? Etc?
It’s a shaved bay they tuck all that away
Beautiful build!!! These shots show it off so well

Luft Technik is the best shop in South Florida. I’m so happy to see Matt get a proper highlight! If you see this bro! Congratulations!
Thanks!!
Ironically enough im in the process of swapping a 12v 2.8L Vr6 into my mk5 Rabbit for a track only build. This is an interesting parallel
Epic build and something unique.
Thumbs up for the content
I just was thinking of doing a vr6 in a 2012 Jetta S..this car is Amazing!!🔥🔥

Love the bay on your vw ! Great & clean job man !
DUUUUDDDEEEEE MY SET SCREW DID THE SAME THING FOR MY BOOST TAP. Had to rebuild it and shave down that piston a bit lmao
Hahaha yup exactly what we did too! Updated tensioner and carbon cleaning while we were in there
listening to him listing out the problems after the swap got me overwhelmed and anxiety build up lol
Sound track must be amazing!!!
This is so sick! 🔥🔥
Im shaving my enginebay too. vw rabbit mk5 with R36 engine and manual transmission too. This mk6 is insane
There’s a guy here in the UK fitting a turbo R36 to a Mk6R, the setup was previously in a Mk4 R32.
3.6!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
this is simply correct.
Very nice set up
The engine bay clean

Beautiful car!! Lovely build. I don’t really ever make comment but had to for this! Well done
Love this build. So sweet and epic.💥💯💥
That radiator fan thing is a MkV platform bug in general, happened on my 2009 Jetta and baffled me.

Better off getting a used R and do the swap. Would probably cost you less money.
I would like a mild build list for the swap. Wanting to vr6 swap the ol’mk5

Curious why he didn't go stand alone like Haltech instead of fighting with the oem ecu.

A small fortune right there 😜
Looking into doing a r32 swap into a mk6 Jetta, any advice or tips to make the process go smoothly?
whats the power after all the mods? Did u were on dyno ? :)
That is sick!
What exhaust set up is this?? It sounds amazing and I’m stuck on what route to go with my Passat gt. Beautiful swap man😮💨👍🏽Thank you!!
Where did you get your fog lights gloss black cover ?! 👀
what an awesome dude ! and a great car man ! wow
Engine looks cocked I would assume the MK5 R32 mounts would fit better than the modified 2.0t ones.
Looks and sounds amazing 🎼👌
Sick car! Please come to UK and convert my 6!

any tips on how to get that interor on the dash done?
