- The Catacombs of Paris are underground tunnels in Paris, France, which hold the remains of more than six million people.. after there cemeteries started to overflow with dead people and created horrible smells they decided to move ALL the body's from their city cemeteries and put them UNDERGROUND. Nowadays there are many people who go down their and build rooms and live down there some just visit once a week , they are called the cataphiles. IN THIS VIDEO We adventure under paris into the city of the dead and explore and film our experience!

It makes me sad to see all those bones just tossed in there. Like, they all belong to a person who deserved a proper burial. It’s like an eerie sadness. Great video Josh! You really captured the emotion and beauty among the sadness there.
Bodies don’t need to be buried… It just creates more waste on a planet were already squandering. Just so “” loved ones can go and cry at a stone. Never gotten that
@@kateapple1 Lets also not assume all of them "deserved" a proper burial. There are millionds of people down there, we dont know what type of person they were before they died. There could be rapists, pedophiles, and God knows what else. Still spooky nonetheless.

To the French at the time this was a proper burial after spending a year or two in a cemetery. They ran out of space and to give other families a chance skeletons were moved to this area so bodies can be buried.
Indeed, that was a proper burial for the times. After some time, bones were generally dug up and piled up in an ossuary within the cemetery to make room for new bodies. So most of them were probably moved from a pile of bones above to a pile of bones below.

The France series was amazing. I saw multiple videos of catacombs, but these one is the craziest I ever saw. The part that is accessible to visitors is also scary, as the same point. There are so many unsolved mysteries that give the place a particular atmosphere. I love how the way you were respectful and how the cataphiles seemed to let the place clean. Also, as a French fan, I heard some comments from the cataphiles and they made me laugh, I don’t think these comments were hurtful or something (due to the language barrier) - but their reactions, when you did the « ceremony » really end me. 😂 Big up to all the team, I can’t wait to see your next explorations !

@@catatoric The only reason I haven't is cause I don't have a vehicle or income but maybe if I can just find a really good place 2 start on I live in centraln Florida & all I need is a few supporters or maybe someone I could go with etc. My time walking is limited maybe several years left (as I have a progressive disease that destroys my muscles in the legs) I want more than anything to be able to do a few good exploration trips with Josh while I still am able. I dunno how that could ever happen maybe he'll see my comment or story & HMU who knows but it's my dream!

I remember watching when you went to the paris catacombs in 2017 and life kind of got of busy and haven’t watched since, so I’m back here and you went back 2 years ago realizing this now how crazy it really is to be an urban explorer. If you’re busy with life, then what do you call doing this with your life? People dream to go to Paris so they can see the Eiffel Tower, but ever since I watched your videos I dream to go to Paris BECAUSE I want to explore the catacombs or what’s hidden inside the city. I hope when u grow old you stay young and keep making stories. I hope you know people live through your videos when they cannot and I’m really grateful you chose to document your adventures and share it with the world!
This video is BY FAR the most suspenseful thing I have EVER watched 🥴 I can not imagine being underground, in a foreign country, can’t speak or understand their language, and have to go through tiny holes to get to another room that might have someone in it that may or may not kill you!!! Nope!!!

I have crazy fear of heights & claustrophobia, and especially at 21:58 - 37:51 - 41:49 where you have to crawl on your knees, I would have died from my fear.
I don't know if I could visit the catacombs there, and above all, I don't know how you can find a good person who knows the catacombs, so that he doesn't trick you and leave you there to get lost on purpose.
I don't even know where you can find group members to show you around the catacombs there.
With money; Without; I don't know if they also asked for money, and how much money...
Meanwhile the guide's face at 27:12 onwards is quite clear before the blur (probably Josh's omission).
I also wonder how the batteries of everyone's camera lasted so many hours, about 10 to 15 or 20 hours, and especially in Video mode.
Besides, you have 4-5 batteries with you and when one runs out, you put in the next one.
P.S.: Anyway, I think it's very difficult to find a guide, trustworthy above all, that you can trust, or to find people from groups that are trustworthy, and to know that they won't trap you in the catacombs, so that you can't to find after the Exit Never...
