As a Christian who happens to be gay, I am extremely hurt and saddened to hear the comment about the new Lightyear movie. This is the exact reason why gay people stay away from the church. We are treated by so many Christians as if we have "the plague". As a Christian, you should know better than to speak such hurtful words. I am also puzzled as to how someone can speak about something they know nothing about. What do you know about being gay? You're straight. This is not an attack on Pastor Robert Madu. I have listened to his sermons for over a year now, including Jesus, The Unseen Savior. I thought these were safe sermons to listen to where I wouldn't have to deal with church hurt. I was clearly wrong. I just want Christians to open their eyes and hearts to the hurt gay people deal with. Let us represent Jesus Christ, our Savior, the lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world, in such a way that reflects His LOVE for us. ❤ After all it is GOOD news that we should be sharing.
You are a person who struggles with the thoughts and desires to be gay, it doesn’t mean you ought to be and continue to be that way. A thief struggles with the thoughts and desires of the flesh to steal, it doesn’t mean they ought to be and continue to be that way. Resist and argue back about your identity in the prayer war room in this life so you can press forward to the eternal prize. You could start by praying to God for wisdom and revelation by the power of the Holy Spirit in Jesus Christ name for the cause/root of this desire and if this way of life be pleasing to God or not. Hosea 10:12, Matthew 6:33 Matthew 7:7-11, Jeremiah 29:11, Jeremiah 33:3, 2 Corinthians 10:3-5.

Instead of telling this dignified and worthy human to pray to god, take your own advice and ask God to show you His grace, His acceptance, and His Love. Hi Clarissa, I want to just say a few things! It wasn’t mentioned as to what Pastor Robert was keeping his son from witnessing towards the movie. That would be a hard way to judge him base on one decision. He never talked down on anyone of your community. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion so that could come off hypocritical to say he is wrong to want to raise his child the way He feels is right. As someone who has experienced being with the same gender before, it was because of personal issues I wanted to find something of feeling the void with! But continually telling myself that I was happy trying to work hard on being what I wasn’t was worse. If you guys want to teach your children that it is ok although children don’t fully understand life at such a young age… It cant possibly be a problem for a parent from another background to simply try and say it isn’t ok. That doesn’t mean that you both can teach your children to respect and still treat each other as human. Dont allow EMOTIONS which come and go, to cause you to look at someone different because of an opinion if you don’t necessarily know him. And Vise versa! I hate that you only took that from the message and I am praying for you to see only through the eyes of God! Treating people as you want to be treated and that you receive treatment from those as you give love! Rmmbr we can still receive hate yet cause a difference with our Love!!! God bless
The comments about the buzz light-year movie make me really sad. I feel like we should really move past homophobia from the pulpit. I really expected more from Pastor Robert. It’s also ironic that this sermon is called lame excuses. Do you avoid letting your son see all movies that have “sin” in them? I’m guessing not because I’m pretty sure you’ve mentioned your son watching superhero movies and the Jurassic park movie. When you specifically call out that one scene from buzz light-year and discuss how you will not let your son see it it really shows your homophobia. I really hope that you decide to be better than that moving forward. Unfortunately this will be the last sermon I listen to from you and social Dallas. And I urge everyone else to do the same. It’s pride month, and this kind of attack from the pulpit it’s really uncalled for and unnecessary.
It is his responsibility to preach God’s teachings, he never said he had a problem with homophobia . He’s stating that he wants to teach his children and not let media do so. A child /Adult should direct their own paths without subliminal messagings .
