By far the best AC/DC cover I've ever heard. Incredible accurate playing, especially. "Mal", Bon's voice is perfectly nailed. So much love to details, it sounds like they've deencoded the DNA of AC/DC. Hats off!
Wow that voice is easily the closest i have heard to Bon. We all know how you nail the tone on the guitars but damn that voice, when i close my eyes all i hear is Bon.
Amen! Close your eyes and you'd swear that Bon was singing! Especially near the end where quips, "So they told me." And then there are da pipes! I applaud all of the musicians, engineers, producers, technicians, etc who made this video possible! Thank You!!!
I was 11 years old in 1977 when Elvis died on 16th August. On the 17th I heard this track... 55 today and as I closed my eyes that track absolutely sounds like it was coming from the vinyl... Tear rolled down my face & a chill down my spine as the memory of seeing Bon on 6th Nov 1978..... Wow.... What an incredible tribute to an incredible voice... STU
Stu, TONS of love from all of us here. From the whole team. BTW WE READ comments every day for this video. We were all into this one almost religiously; this one mattered to all of us more than usual (and we always care). Yours truly - Fil
THAT WAS EPIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! R.I.P. Bon Scott and Malcom Young. I love it when you guys do AC/DC covers! Take it up a notch and do some Highway To Hell, Touch To Much, Overdose and If You Want Blood, You've got it!
We did HTH in July 2020 but was recently blocked, sorry about that - not much we can do. If you want to watch it, google "SoloDallas vimeo" and it's on there. Can confirm IYWB is on the list! Appreciate the comment!
That rhythm guitar is so close to the album. It's amazing. Now we need Michael to do some Brian songs to mess with our minds because we all wonder what might have been.
"I wonder if they're going to do the bagpipe solo" *sees guy walking down a corridor assembling some bagpipes as if they were an assault rifle* "Ok, this is gonna be good"
SoloDallas, you and Michael Vincent can provide the answer to an age old question: what would AC/DC's later music have sounded like had Bon Scott survived?!! I have always tried to imagine iconic toons like Back n Black, For Those About to Rock, etc. with Bon on vocals. What a great experiment that would be! Please do it!
@@SoloDallas The thing is that you can get a soundalike to sing 'Back In Black', but you can't predict how Mr. Scott's songwriting input might have affected the lyrics themselves. The songs themselves would have been different, and there would have been other songs in addition because he wasn't just a vocalist but also a songwriter. I enjoyed this cover however, so more power to you and the group whatever you decide to do.
@@Kowasi Yes, u are correct. The experiment would not be without flaws. But it's the best we can do. There are songs written by only Malcon & Angus. Perhaps they would offer the purist example of Bon doing Brian era stuff?
You guys ROCK and it’s 95% close to being the real thing, the other 5% is that I know it’s SoloDallas. If someone played me the song without knowing, I would have swore it was AC/DC without any second thoughts. I’ve been an AC/DC fan all my life at the rip age of 49 years old. Absolutely AWESOME 👏🏻
Faaakkkkkk you guys ROCK! Best cover I’ve ever heard! Got the vocal chops, seemingly naturally and that’s all the marbles right there. Burn strong and bright fellas!
I have seen & participated in many ACDC covers and that my friends is simply the best. I mean.... He nailed Bon for God's sake!!! Anybody can woodshed and learn a good ACDC cover but Bon is a different beast. A+ boys!!! You killed it!
Not just the best AC/DC cover I've ever heard. One of the best covers of any song I've ever heard. Period. If I were looking at it, I wouldn't have known
Just listened to this again and wow. This is so right on. The rawness. It sounds and feels like acdc. And that's the closest to Bon Scott l have heard. The rhythm carries the spirit of the brothers. And that underlying bass line. And of course the crack of the drums. Takes me back. It's a beautiful thing.
F*****g nailed it, Fil! Credit to all musicians and top notch singer. As a Scotsman, there aren’t enough bagpipes in rock’n’roll, but this restores some balance. Thank you. 👏👏
There is the work of a life time to replicate this perfect piece. Some might not see the value, but these men are historians of rock and roll in their own right. If Harvard had a chair for hard rock these fellas could easily take on it.
awesome. simply the best cover of 'Long way to the top' that one could ever hope to -and Can find. The attention to detail and execution of what many say is the greatest AC/DC song and possibly greatest rock song in history- is breathtaking
This is totally mind blowing.................bagpipes and snare drums send shivers up my spine to this day. I grew up in a small Michigan town known as Scotland, USA. We had a Highland festival every year with a parade and Highland games........I still hear those bagpipes. Extraordinary effort to everyone involved in this venture. Thanks to Fil especially.
Not really, but now that you mention it, 1 thing I hope someone out there can answer; to my knowledge bagpipes are in the non-negotiable key of Bb - & Acca Dacca actually played it in that key! Dunno how they did it (except tinkering in the studio) since they're not capo guys & it would be a bit of an inconvenience to drag out 2 guitars & 1 bass tuned down a semitone for ONE song. Anyone know what went down?
THAT was even better than the original! Vocalist Michael Vincent sounded JUST like Bon Scott, and all the instrumentalists rocked out every single note and beat perfectly! Amazing work, guys.
I am almost in tears. This is such a beautiful and iconic song celebrating Mal and Bon playing together. This is my absolute favourite band. I never tire of their music. It’s 70% of what I play on my guitars.
@@richardroyal9632 Of course - thank your for supporting us! TUNE your guitar higher. Fantastic. Easily the best AC/DC cover I have heard in 40 years. The singer is scarily similar to Bon, which is some achievement, guitar tone is spot on. Absolutely brilliant.
F*ck me! Best damned ACDC cover band out there. The problem with these cover bands is that the voices of Bon Scott and Brian Johnson are so hard to replicate. So most cover bands fall short. You guys owned it. Rock on.
