    Hi I am someone who has just used a Drain King and is in love with it!! it worked excellently!!
    If you have not used one before, it is extremely simple - you literally take the Drain King screw it on a hose put the Drain King down the pipe enough so that the bladder is completely covered up or submerged in the pipe and then turn it on. The bladder has to be completely inside the pipe because one of the key features is that the bladder expands to lock the Drain King in place to prevent any water from coming back on you.
    The dream-king works by locking itself in place with the expanding black rubber bladder and then through devices that are installed on the inside of it, on the nozzle it pulses the water. This has a powerful effect on the line because one of the things about liquids like water as compared to air is that a liquid cannot be compressed which means any pressure placed on one portion of a body of water will be transmitted through the whole body of water so the pressure created by the Drain King at the end of the nozzle is felt throughout the whole pipe that's filled with water or your clock whatever.
    A few key things to understand about the Drain King. In the video here the fellow had a very long drainpipe and it looks like he's simply shoved the Drain King down it. You may have a clean out in a wall or some other sort of access that's not just a simple open pipe in a room that you shove the drinking in the hose down. If this is the case it may or may not be possible to get the drain king and the hose in the pipe to do the job. As I said above it's critical that the Drain King be completely in the pipe so it can expand and do its work. Now, having mentionef different things where your Drain King may not fit in, it is also possible to create or make a situation that lets your Drain King work properly. What I am talking about is cutting off, or cutting into I should say, the vent line associated with your washer drain line. That is what I ended up having to do. The vent line is typically buried in the wall above your washer drain connection and or your clean-out, you'll have to check your house. To get at it youll to punch a hole in your wall but that's not that big a deal to fix a hole in the wall compared to being able to drain the washer drain line and have the little lady use the washer to wash clothes, trust me. You'll also probably notice your clean out and or your drain connection are made out of cast iron or some sort of heavy metal. When you cut into the wall you'll most likely find that the drain line going to the roof is made out of copper and is very easy to cut into. When you finally do get to this point if you are going to cut into a copper vent line make sure the section you cut out is big enough to allow for the couplings that you'll need to use to put it back in place, in other words to restore the drain line to a single pipe. I would recommend cutting at least eight in probably closer to 12 of pipe out for you to work with. Punch a hole in the wall, expose the copper pipe, go 5 or 6 in above where the copper pipe meets the cast iron, and then cut out a 12 in section. Your drain king and the hose will now go straight down into the pipe to do their job and, once completed, you can get a couple of rubber couplings with radiator clamps from Home Depot just ask for pipe couplings in the size of your pipe and basically slide them over the top and bottom lines where you cut tying them up in your pipe is back to being a solid piece. You may also need to get a handheld snake to work with the Drain King. That is what I had to do. And that is no rap on the Drain King! The Drain King was a huge help in developing pressure and pushing stuff out but I was cleaning a line that it's probably not been cleaned in 50 years and I'm not kidding 5 0 years. if you do get a snake I would strongly recommend that you get a simple handheld electric snake that goes on the drill and works with some sort of motor to turn the snake. Again you can rent them from Home Depot and if you have an inch and a quarter inch and a half drain line the 5/16 snake let's down to the electric drill work late. Try not to listen to The Home Depot rental people cuz half the time they don't know what they're talking about. last night's th HD guy was trying to tell me a 5/16 diameter snake would not fit around the corner in a one and a half inch pipe cuz it had quote-unquote a piece of metal inside the snake. Freaking ridiculous!! it works like a champ!! anyhow I pretty much put a ton of stuff down here for you think about it and act on. Remember there's always a ton of information or other UA-cam videos that you can amass Knowledge from. Good Luck sorry if the spelling awarding was dinged up anywhere I tried to catch it when I could0

    I had a short washer drain that frequently would overflow and I had to call the plumber out every six months or so. I finally got a plumber who suggested putting a taller drain pipe as he had found that the shorter pipes like I had often had that problem. I had him replace the pipe with a taller pipe (it's 3.5 ft from the floor) and I have never again had that problem, in 20 years.

    Lint build up coming from the washer causes these backups.
    Our washer drains into the sink in the basement. We put a cricket cage on the end of our hose because of the lint always clogging the drain. I know not everyone can do this because your drain house is in the line running to your sewer. But, you'd be shocked at the lint coming out off the washer. We have to clean out the cricket cage at least 2 times a month.
    It becomes so full water no longer passes through the mesh.

      I know this is exactly my problem. I wash the blankets my dog lays on, etc. Plus the regular shedding everywhere else and normal lint, etc. and my washing machine drain stops up and drains into my bathtub. Not a huge problem, but it It keeps my kitchen sink from draining too, which is a big problem!! I live in a small apartment. It took me a while to figure it out, because our maintenance guy never could. It is obvious what the problem is now, but I need suggestions. I would love to do what you did, but as you mentioned, I don't have access to the pipe to "catch" the lint. Ideas??

      I agree but in our case I think it's more. We always due a gallon of bleach 1x/month and let it sit for 24hours and then run an empty wash. The bleach eats away at this gunk and we are good for a month. Usually works but now the water back up is getting worse and we wonder if dirt, pebbles and sediment from an outside drain is causing the back up.

      I also used a cricket cage and that has resolved clogged drain from washer. I was shocked how much Lint was in the cage after just 6 washes had to be cleaned. I also lay a small rag over the cage because when it gets full it squirts on to the floor.

    I had the same problem with my main line outside the house,snaked it with my 25 foot snake, no dice, paid morris jenkins to snake it and they did, five times, poor guy was there for two hours. Still clogged even after he made it all the way to the street, it seemed to seal up after the snake. We bought a different brand than drain king, it had no pulsating tip, it worked good though. I recommend getting all three sizes to have on hand.

    Thank you so much! I have a slightly different chronic clogged drain problem. I live in an apartment bldg and my tub drain clogs all the time. I've tried all the things you talked about snaking, heavy duty drain openers. Works for awhile but always backs up again. I've spent a lot of money on drain screens, nothing is going down there but still clogs. I think the pipe is connected to other apartments and that may be the problem. I'm interested in trying the Drain King. Looks like I'd also need to buy a hose to attach to my bathtub faucet to attach the Drain King to. Looks like I would need to keep a good grip on the Drain King push it down into the drain and turn on the water for approx 5 mins? Is that what I would need to do in this case? Thank you so much for all your help and advice.

    For best results, bend the snake head about 20 degrees in the direction of the tip. After many tries this idea broke up the blockage.
    A straight head will only go into the center of the block - if the blockage very tough.

    @JT Chavez. ... I have the exact same issue. The same exact configuration in the back of my washing machine as yours.
    So you say it worked right ? Reason I say that some other reviews of this bladder product says that when someone tried it the bladder burst inside the pipe and made the situation even worse. That's the only reason I'm a little skeptical about using a bladder. It's either that or pay a plumber a lot of money..

    I just tried the DrainKing VIP2 with no success. Tried it on the sink drain with supplied sink adapter, tried it in the drain pipe under the sink without the sink adapter, and I tried it in my shower drain all with no luck. I was very surprised because most every review of this product claims to have great results. Maybe I got a faulty product that doesn't work normally like the rest of the drain kings...
    I had 2 main issues while using the DrainKing...
    #1 - The sink adapter has a hole in the bottom that the water is supposed to flow through...the hole on the adapter and the hole on the DrainKing didn't line up so the water didn't come out in the strong stream it was supposed to...but like I mentioned earlier, I tried the DrainKing without the adapter and it still didn't work.
    #2 - I experience no "pulsating" of any kind, and when I turned the water on full pressure as the manufacturer recommends, the DrainKing started making a weird constant "honk" is the best way I can describe it...
    I called the DrainKing 800# and talked to a lady there and asked her about the pulsing...she said you can hear it when it starts pulsing...I never heard it, she took my phone number and told me a technician would call me ASAP....haven't heard from him yet....

    • @SpaceCampOfficial
      @SpaceCampOfficial 6 років тому +1

      @freezedried ak
      hard to say, but it wasn't roots...
      it was a clorox bleach wipe that got thrown in toilet and flushed on accident while trying to potty-train my daughter. my house/plumbing was built in 1979 so we have cast iron pipes which have caused us a lot of problems, so i have a strict 'toilet paper only' policy due to multiple plumber bills in the first months after we bought this house
      still though, its crazy to think that one wipe caused this big of an issue. the plumbers said those wipes don't dissolve like toilet paper. so if you have an old house with cast iron pipes be careful what you flush...
