The difference between BMPs and BMDs is that BMDs are designed to be ostensibly air-transportable and air-droppable, with lighter armor and collapsible running gear.
The armoured wolfpack can be very effective if done correctly. You hunt the enemy armour down to clear the field so you can limit the maneuverability of enemy infantry while clearing the field of enemy armoured threats so you can focus heavily on infantry support in between respawn times. This can also equate to a significant ticket bleed for the enemy, and limit if not strangle their logistics. Was a common tactic in competitive play a few years ago.
I believe the BMD line of vehicles was made to be light so it could be deployed alongside or near paratroopers or airborne forces. It wasn't just a reskin of BMP1s, 2s or 3s that could also go in water.
That would be interesting. I have wondered how it would play out. It would make FOBs located at more logical locations based on good locations with map control and defensible areas@@hnojic

Sq 1 Hat (Jonas) was my battle buddy for most of the game but as you can see in 3:34 he flipped us over good thing was that we help lead a group of blueberries to VDV G5 radio destroying it. As for Qurray it was a mess no Hab only rally with vdv everywhere 35:23 favorite last line before dying was Broken Arrow
Dude that guy trying to repair the Abrams was hilarious.... there he is trying to put the fire out and repair the Abrams, looks briefly to the left sees a Russian standing next to him planting C4, he drops his toolkit and whips out his M9 and papapapapapapa... saves the Abrams lol
First 15 minutes is Squad Map Simulator... All this other action going on and we're just hanging out at the top of the level staring at the map, calling stuff out, and watch a couple tanks drive by.
Always a good time to watch! Although I must mask if there’s any chance we could see a “Best moments from eye on sky” type video showing the best highlights from all the games? One could only hope!
I keep saying it, but MAN THIS ONE WAS GOOD!! Some amazing little moments here n there, that desperate defence of the damaged tank with the other 2 vehicles was epic, like something out of a movie. Amazing round, like watching a sporting event!
I just got squad not that long ago, and while I absolutely suck for now, I am slowly learning. I got one of my first confirmed enemy kills earlier today (most of my kills are friendly fire from one match where I was suppressing a Russian position as a chopper gunner because my pilot chose the hottest lz known to man, and I didn't expect the dismounts to spawn right in front of the gun lol), but for now I mostly spot enemies for my team, shoot in their general direction as best I can, and soak up lead while I try my best to learn the game
that's the ideal way to start man, much better attitude than just pricking around and making a problem of yourself. If you're interested you can always come along to the Skira server, we're pretty good at teaching people up to speed.

I spent about five minutes wedged prone in-between some rocks while facing the heaviest bombardment I've ever seen. We won eventually, but it was incredibly tough (I also got a kill, and only fully died 4 times, and 2 of those were from the only 2 times I was in a heli that game). Turns out the reason why the militia wasn't giving us too much trouble besides the occasional small ambush was because they were building super fobs and mortar emplacements

For me personally, Squad is 98% infantry combat. I rarely play in vehicles because they are nearly unusable with my control scheme. So whatever they do during a battle barely gets noticed. It's funny when you watch the match as a whole from above, how much focus is actually put on the vehicle units, compared to infantry pushes etc.
I think the ICO will indirectly help with that some. The meta is definitely starting to shift to at the very least having IFV's or decently armed transports actually sticking with the infantry for fire support. My biggest problem with vehicles in Squad is the way they're handled encourages too many players to just draw off away from their team to go play warthunder with the enemy who also drove away from their team to deathmatch in the middle of nowhere.
@@36G The biggest culprit is sadly the one hill the non-PR players and non-backers of Squad have chosen to die on, given the reaction to the ICO: The casual audience of squad will not, under any circumstances, allow for the devs to give weapons actually realistic sway or sight-in times. When it's laughably easy to just whip out a rocket launcher and laser-tag a vehicle down in seconds, no one is going to want to support infantry. The ICO tried to fix that by adding at least some level of a skill floor to the game but the casual audience cried to high heaven and got the ICO completely neutered into just being a suppression update.
I would love to see squads vehicles with some more variation in appearance maybe some wear on them instead of looking like they all came right out of the factory clean and brand new looking. I think it would add a ton of immersion. Imo
There are so many cool things going on during the match but we can only get a glimpse of it because Moi can't be everywhere at once. Would it be ever possible to have one or two more admins roaming around and you could combine the material? :)
Vehicle focused maps are just so bad in Squad. No one ever does a damn thing to actually help the infantry, the vehicles always just go off on both sides to play their own separate game.

The ICO was going in the right direction by not making man portable AT so insanely easy to use but people cried and now the ICO barely has any sway for weapons anymore. People don't like supporting infantry because Squad is currently heavily suffering from 'milsim laser tag' syndrome where milsim games go for realism in everything BUT the gunplay. Everyone being so insanely, arcade-level accurate with every weapon makes vehicles paper tigers in close support because they tend to just get instantly deleted effortlessly. If there's no real skill requirement for weapons like AT the vehicles are just going to keep deathmatching in the middle of nowhere.
@@Slenderneer Maybe, I'm not too experienced with armored combat in squad, but I know that one of the main reasons why combined arms is so common irl is how vulnerable, yet powerful AFVs are. Infantry is one of their greatest weaknesses, and infantry is your best defense against infantry. AFVs are also really good at assisting friendly infantry, hence why they stick together, and why you almost never see successful armored attacks without infantry. Even if armor stays further back, so long as it supports infantry I'm happy, and there would come a point where they have to get closer to the action to engage each other

Does anyone know how to load the game without it crashing? I’ve played a few times just fine but it doesn’t get passed the loading screen. I’ve reinstalled already with no results
@rayotoxi1509 No, there are T-90's that are operated by Guards tank units. VDV has no operational control over T-90 tanks. Russia does not gift units to other formations like America does. These are tank units that are operating alongside VDV formations.
1% of squad players know how to execute armor battles. Planning to get back in squad and when I do you'll have the most epic tank battle clip on your channel.
Gotta love that nato bias bs vehicles in game, hp difference bs, the shell damage difference bs 30mm better than 25, tanks complete bs 2 crew abrams =5 sec reload and auto loader has incorrect time and bad armour models.
I love eye in the sky games but IMO these recent uploads feel like it's 50% staring at the map, 30% of Moi going from one side of the map to the other, and 20% of us seeing the action. However, even when there's some action going on Moi quickly moves onto something else/cuts away so we don't even get to see if an assault was successful, if an LAV was able to get away, etc. Just some criticism. I was watching a handful of older eye in the sky vids from 10-12 months ago and it seemed like Moi would spend more time watching out how an assault would play out or if it was a single soldier defending, stay on him until his death, and etc. I feel now we're just constantly zooming around while staring at a map for so much of the video. Again I love Moi and everything he has done for squad but I'm just leaving some constructive criticism... We don't need to see everything going on the map at all times, rather focus on whatever action you have going on in front of you, if it dries up then sure move on...

Yeah, the BMD family is the Russian airborne armor. They are smaller and lighter than the regular army BMPs

BMP's are meant for the ground forces and the BMD's are lighter builds made for the VDV
