I always appreciate a real tonal demonstration by Quentin and not just the usual thrashing on chords like most guitar reviews

  • @uvp5000

I realized how I differentiate instruments demonstrated on this channel: I listen to Quinton and Paul talk. The room is the same, the microphone positioned largely the same, and Quinton's playing creates good variety to understand the acoustic instruments demonstrated here. There are ways to create a context to figure out how an instrument sounds and talking is one way to do so. I feel this is one of the best channels to hear an instrument.
This Eastman is quite nice and should make most guitarists pleased they made the purchase.

    • @markrobinson891
      @markrobinson891 2 роки тому +2

One thing they should factor in. When you play in a room with other guitars hanging on the wall the sound goes into those boxes and resonates. Especially when the one in your lap is in front of a microphone. You really have no idea what you will hear at home. These demos are only good to a point.

@@markrobinson891 Good point; you're right. I've noticed this too when I play acoustic guitars in a room full of other acoustic guitars. That said, I've become relatively good at hearing an instrument's tone in a context like this. Now, does the instrument vibrate through its body? What does it feel like? Those are among some considerations for me that go into deciding whether an instrument is worth purchasing. Another, albeit vicarious, consideration is Quinton's reaction.
Considering that even the most consistently built solid-wood guitars don't sound exactly the same, I only comment on the instruments I've played or heard in any respectively posted video here. Ultimately, for me, I would have to play an instrument before I purchase it unless I place an order for one in which case I'm hoping that it turns out the way I hope.
Since I am nowhere near Bozeman, MT, the likelihood of me playing a specific instrument demonstrated in these videos is low. Still, I enjoy these videos a whole lot.

@@uvp5000 Same here to all the above. I recently heard Joe Bonamossa say the more he plays a guitar, the more it sounds like him. In other words, the artists make a guitar sound good. Hence kudos to Quinton. He’s got a sound all his own. He picks the right licks to bring out the best in each guitar.

Another fun and informative episode of the Paul & Quinton Show. Eastmans are truly great guitars. I have an AC508CE and a AC822ce Koa LTD; anything similar by Taylor or Martin would be two to three times the price. While their price make them practical, it also makes them one of the best deals in the guitar making industry.
    Thanks again!

Eastman make great guitars. Eight years ago I bought my first acoustic. I really wanted my dream guitar. At that time this was a Gibson J-45. I went home with the J-45. I bought it with my heart, but my ears told me to buy one of the Eastman guitars, which was 66% of the price of the J-45. I don't regret the decision I made, but when I need a great back-up guitar, or just something else to enjoy myself with, like a parlor sized couch guitar, I would definitely look at Eastman.

Only that Eastman HANDCrafts the guitars with individual luthiers and the factory is without noise, a thing made by hand, hard to find these days ... the machines make a good job to multiply a product but an acoustic guitar is more than a product, should be an art creation ... so, really appreciate Eastman and love my E1D, didn't understand the hype about Eastman until I've got one...

Yep, they are very nice guitars. Recording King also makes their guitars like Eastman does, the Chinese made guitars, I would definitely be happy with an Eastman too. The one and only one thing I don't like about the Recording King is the neck shape.

Sounds great. Very open. Interesting hollow tone to it. Great flat picker there. The second demo shows its limits. The opening sound was impressive. The later bits you can tell it lacks real dynamics. But he had the body moving a lot more. N itd be a great busker guitar.

I own this guitar and really like it. But my one is a bit smaller than my other Eastman dreads in both depth and width. I did a video on my channel called Eastman Shrinkflation about this. I would be interested to know if mine is an exception or have Eastman made all the E3DEs that bit smaller, maybe to go along with the pickup? To play mine back to back with my E10D it does sound a bit more delicate with less size and bass overall.

Thanks for the clarification 3CM - Adirondack didn't quite compute given the price! I was thinking I should be able to notice Adirondack vs Sitka, but never been too confident in distinguishing woods just by listening - perhaps this should be the subject of a comparison, i.e. "guess the top wood" (presuming we can find instruments were this is the primary variable) . . .

You're both wrong, China actually is going to pick up where we left off in Afghanistan, they are also committing genocide of the Ugar population, also Japan exploits their population too. All capitalist countries are bad AND so is the US imperial forces. But in the end its a guitar and Eastman makes fine instruments whether or not u consume them or Martin is arbitrary and just capitalism(which is exploitative) no mattar what.

I was curious when i bought it, how long a cheap, er i mean inexpensive guitar would last.. A year. I might make a hot rod out of it..
the next step was larger.. i bought a Mexican Taylor 214 ce DLX in December of 2019, making it a pre-Wu guitar, lol..
