Hello there! This sounds like an issue with the wiring harness. If you have a multimeter, check if the power wires are properly connected and is showing a voltage reading. Otherwise, I suggest getting in touch with the seller to help rectify the issue. Good luck 🍀
Hi George, you might be able to fit a 2-DIN headunit if your dashboard type looks like as shown in timestamp 1:23 in my video. If so, then have a look at this option from JustNavi in the link below. It looks decent and seems to be popular as there had been 82 orders already. Product link here 👉s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_DDUwDu7
Hi Federico, I’m doing alright thanks for asking 👍 The updated link where you can buy the product is in the description section of the video. Please make sure to confirm with the seller if this product is suitable for the exact make/model/year or your car before you make the purchase. For a full list of items you may need to help you with the installation (e.g. fascia, SWC, Quadlock connector, etc), please make sure to check out the description section of this video. But for your convenience, I’ve copied the link to the radio (headunit) down below for you. Please note this is an affiliate link which means I may (or may not) qualify for a small commission from the transaction. ⭐️ JoyingAuto Universal 1DIN Android Headunit (s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_9HXTKa) Thanks for visiting my channel and good luck on your install. Hi Ashley, this was one of the very first video in my channel so I was learning, experimenting and making lots of mistakes. In addition, there were very limited plug-and-play all-in-one headunits specifically for the E87 back then. Which is why I bought a universal headunit and unfortunately, the wiring harness that came with it didn’t work. My mistake was trying to re-wire the wiring harness to make it work with the car - which probably breaks warranty and support. So in the end, I bought wiring harness from a reputable company and it was plug-and-play after that. I hope this is helpful 😊
Hi there, in this video, I used the 7 inch display but if I remember correctly, it can accomodate upto 10.25 inches without blocking the aircon vent because because it has a wide aspect ration. I remember creating a mock of the 10.25 inch screen using a piece of paper to make sure it wouldn’t block the aircon vent. In the end, it comes down to cost as the 10.25” screen was over my budget. When you installed the connects2 steering wheel control interface, did you have to connect the 12v constant yellow wire to the battery? It doesn't say to in the instructions but it's not working for me!
Hi Phil, The Connects2 installation guide that comes with the product actually do say you need to connect the Yellow wire to a permanent 12v source (Refer to the last image on this page: www.dynamicsounds.co.uk/connects2-ctsbm005-bmw-1-3-5-6-7-series-mini-steering-wheel-stalk-control-adaptor.html) If you are still having problems with your SWC, please watch this video ua-cam.com/video/htC2hpzHQ_M/v-deo.html as it might give you additional information how to make it work. In particular, you need to connect the SWC to the headunit first before plugging the SWC into power. If you connect the SWC to a power source first, apparently the SWC will program itself to an incorrect headunit as it is not connected to anything when it first received power. I hope this helps. Thanks for visiting my channel!

I can’t seem to get any power on the android screen. Do you have to join the yellow cable to battery? The cable is too short to reach the battery so which cable should I buy to link them together?
Hi there, most after-market Android headunits I’ve come across have 45-50 watts output on 4 audio channels. It doesn’t seem to have a dedicated output channel for subwoofer. I’m not much of an audiophile but I find the sound quality acceptable and the built-in equaliser helps to improve it a bit. But compared to my other car that has an 18-speaker system, this one definitely sound Lo-fi. Thanks for visiting my channel. If you haven’t done so already, please consider subscribing to support this channel. 👍
Hi Besham, If the headunit on your 1 series is similar to the one in this video, then it should fit. However, two things you need to consider: (1) This exact headunit has been discontinued by Joyeauto so I can’t comment which of their new headunits will fit your car so you need discuss this with them, and (2) There are better Android headunit alternatives out there which gives a better fit. This is probably not the answer you are looking for but unfortunately this is all I can say right now because I no longer have this car.
Hi there, I didn’t get to fully video the end result because I made a lot of mistakes along the way - it was a very frustrating exercise. I also got a buyer for the car sooner than I expected so the car was already gone when I decided to make this video. But all up, I was happy with the headunit and how it performs - especially the built-in Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The only regret I have is not spending that extra $$$ to get a bigger screen. That will be my next project if I can get another 1 series as a project car.
Hi Mr. Observer, it depends what kind of OEM stereo and HVAC setup your car have. In my case, the centre dashboard wouldn’t be able to accommodate a standard 2-DIN stereo so I opted for this floating display. Have a look at this picture I found on the internet and compare it with the one you have and determine if a 2-DIN stereo will fit. www.carnaviplayer.com/images/ref/8820-4.jpg

So once you’ve bought the quadlock iso with swc you still have to wire the live cable to somewhere? Or is it just plug and play in confused
