So much emotion by beautiful Koji Tamaki. He is like fine old whisky. A 'samourai' from a forgotten age. I love this piece by Koji tremendously (as a hard core Dimash fan I can say that with ease, I think Dimash feels the same way about him and gave him honour).
I already knew the original and it's fantastic. In Dimash's cover I hear sadness and in Koji Tamaki's version I hear pain. Wonderfully emotionally performed!
Dimash needs some ageing and feeling pain, he is too young, so focused more on singing not delivering the text. It is also difficoult for him to feel, because japanese is not his mother language.@@hellowingy

Dimash is a really amazing and very technical singer.. Koji Tamaki, a wonderful singer on his own right, makes you feel the pain. People usually (generalisation) prefer the song version that they first hear however this is one of the very few rare occasions whereby I absolutely adore the original.
Fil, when I first heard this song by Koji Tamaki it left me in tears...so much emotion. It is incredible and he does look SO wise. He truly feels that woman's pain of rejection from a country and fans she loved SO much!! It is such a shame that there has ever been such prejudice and that it still exists in our world.

- Tamaki Koji divorced twice, hence the overwhelming pain (jjoke) - Actually, if you look at how he performed Koi no Yokan and Ikanaide many decades ago, back in the 80's on the original album, he was quite awesome even back then. I believe he always has focused on expressing the emotions as authentically as possible, and that he has a special talent for it. Nothing beats talent + effort

I cannot disagree more. Dimash is a pompous singer who forces himself into his song. He doesn't have much subtlety to his singing. He is either too much or too little and it never feels natural. Koji Tamaki on the other hand has refined his singing over 50 years and has transformed throughout the decades. It's like comparing an ancient Samurai to a cosplayer.

Koji Tamaki IS the "original" singer and composer. Ikanaide is HIS song. But Dimash is Dimash...
Koji Tamaki wrote this song in the late 80s and it was released as a single in 1989 if i remember correctly. He was at that time in his early 30s.
