It's shallow, but I'd like to see more colour options, especially some darker colours like burgundy or navy. I know candy colours are part of Moxi's branding but I don't feel like they go with anything I own, haha.
angelus suede dye works great for moxi’s and they have a wide range of darker colors. you can also buy multiple colors and mix to create a custom dye. moxi skate shop has M cutouts you can test before dyeing your skates. there is a tutorial on youtube :)
I saw a video on dying them but I am just way too lazy for the upkeep, and definitely wouldn't want dye transfer onto my stuff. But thanks for the reply!
I feel u with them not going with anything. I think there awesome but there is no way they are going to match anything I’m my wardrobe.... ie black with black and more black and maybe if we’re lucky a tiny bit of denim
I don't think it's shallow considering having cool colors was a huge part of why Estro founded Moxi to begin with. I'm super stoked on these new summer neutrals.
Also this video is super informal. I am still on my Lolly's and if I can get better at ramp skating I will definitely invest in the Jackboot. But for now my Lolly's are perfect for my beginner stages.
My dream is to have a Moxi, but here um Brazil the shipping taxes are sooo expensive! I wonder if maybe you guys could come to an skater event here and sell some pieces 😝 in october we will have the 7th Brazilian championship of roller derby at São Paulo.. It would be awesome to have some Moxi selling here 😝😇😍⛸
My friend from Brazil said the same thing about the shipping taxes! When she came to the US for a trip she ordered Moxis so they would be here waiting when she arrived! Hehe! I will tell the Moxi team about the Derby event! Maybe someone will make it out, I know they are really trying hard to make it easier for international skaters to get Moxis!
Yey it wold be great if someone from Moxi team could make it ou to come at our event! Tell me if you guy need some contact from the organization. It wold be great to have my first Moxi, a Lolly by now, and in a couple of years I plan to go to California to have a Jack boot and roll out with somebody from the Moxi team
Juliana Cavichiolo the Moxi skates are excellent. I have a pair of Lolly. What about Chaya skates? Can you get them there in Brazil? Barbara Luciana from Argentina skates on Chaya skates. As I said, love my Moxi Lolly skates, but if I upgrade I'll definitely look at Chaya skates. 👍
Hi Mandy! I know about Chaya and Barbara, she is amazing. The fact is that I already have a pair of skates that look like Moxi (this traxart.com.br/produtos/patins/patins-completos/item/patins-quad-traxart-glitter) and I am a big fan of the brand Moxi. As a begginer on rolling, started last August, I have this 'dream' to get a Moxi, and maybe take a trip to know the store at Long Beach, to buy a pair there and roll out with somebody from the Moxi team. We do have a Chaya store in Brazil, maybe my next derby skates will be their :)
I am a 220 pound male who is learning to bowl skate. Love my Moxi Jack boots (owned them for about 6 months now). I also have Reidel derby skates for indoors-very different feel regarding ankle support. Bambi nailed it on ankle support and comfortable feel. Also, break-in does take a while. BTW, there is a real pride that goes with owning these babies and people will check out your feet when you skate.
Hey, Bambi, great video, I loved it, you said a few interesting comments that I didn’t know about. I’m going to LA to get the Jack boot as my birthday gift but the real problem is which color to choose haha The taffy looks really pretty but I’m not sure yet. As for any tips for the next videos, I would love to see the top 5 tricks you love to do when skating and also your opinion on the plates with different degrees, which one have you already tried, which one you prefer and why... I’ll definitely keep watching your channel. Best wishes from Brazil 💕
Ooh love it! Great video ideas! :) So exciting you are getting the Jacks for your birthday! I forgot too mention in the video, but they come stock in the Jade color, you can order them custom in other Moxi colors, but you would want to order in advance and there is an additional $90 fee. If you're going to get them from the Moxi Shop in Long Beach, just call the shop and they can help you out!
I bougut myself a pair of Moxi Lolly Taffy boots around May of last year. I have outdoor wheels on them at the moment but I’m thinking of getting indoor wheels for when I go to a nearby roller rink. I also want to get myself a skate leash but not sure what color. A cousin of mine would like to get a pair for her daughter by summer (her b-day). They are slightly expensive but worth it in my opinion. I did my homework on almost everything before buying and I wanted to go for a product more true to made in the U.S. so thats why I chose Moxi, rather than a product that is sold oversea (you can correct me if Im wrong).
Ooh yes, you'll love having indoor wheels for the roller rink! Much easier to go fast and a leash is always handy! I agree that the extra cost for them is really worth it, you get a much higher quality product and they last soo much longer! And yes, all Moxi Suede Boots (Lolly and Jack) are lovingly sewn and assembled here in the US! If you go to 0:45 in this video you can see them being made! ua-cam.com/video/r6mXZ9GghFY/v-deo.html
Thank you in transitioning into a boot from derby skates and I didn't know till you said the jack boot is part of you....when I first started I use to say to myself"I am one with my skates my skates are one with me" got me out of my head... thank you.
I've recently gotten my dream Moxi's. I dithered about getting a set for 4 years but when the Clementine was released I knew I had found my skates. I've got the Jack boot in Clementine and they are just so amazing! I am a derby skater who's been learning park skating as well. My Jacks are now broken in enough to start on the ramps (haven't gotten there yet, hurt my knee at derby so I'm hoping to be right to ramp skate next week). I don't have any difficulty going from my derby skates to the Moxi's and back again, the heel works great for me as far as trick skating, I can finally shoot the duck! Cannot rate the Jacks enough and I'm hoping to get a chance to go to the actual moxi skate shop one day.
I'm getting my first pair of Moxis in the next few months 😍 I'm getting a pair of the beach bunny skates, tho. They're all so pretty. Thanks for the video!
I still have my GCOR's I bought in 1980 the whole boot is leather including the heels. One of my favourite things to do was skate down hills with large puddles of water at the bottom and 'part the sea' so to speak. After 38 years the heels are fine.
Thanks so much for the video. Quality content, very informative and fun! Urban Outfitters has some "UO Exclusive Moxie Skates" I'm wondering if they're going to be the same quality.
Heya! Thanks a lot for this video, nicely explained. I changed from my old figure skates (and derby skates) to the jack boot directly and I haven't even done the 10h break in period yet. Didn't feel like the lollys because I'm used to a stronger ankle support. So glad to see that you use them for jam skating! Such a relief! I have them all set for the ramps but my new obsession is dancing. Isn't the boot too sturdy though? Are the jacks then your fav skate for jamskating? I'm not ready to give up the toestops yet though!
I wanted lolli, but since I’m looking into outdoor skating, and it’s cold here, I think I’ll invest in Jack for the outdoors, then later get lolli for indoor
Dude I love my moxi lolly skates!! They are like a part of my personality now, and I get compliments on them literally every time I wear them. I'd like to hear more about how you fit your skates for different kinds of skating! I am a rink skater, and I'd like to try outdoor skating more but I for sure don't have the right equipment. Help a skater out?
Outdoor....just...rolling around the neighborhood? You're good. Maybe just an extra set of outdoor wheels (plus bearings and a bearing push/puller). An inexpensive set of pads and a helmet is also recommended. Outdoor as in bowls? Switch to metal plates, extra outdoor wheels, bearings and tool. The Grind Blocks are your choice, as metal plates would help. With the nylon plate of the Lolly, you'll wear them down (and risk cracking them) if you're at the skate park often. Don't forget pads and helmet - GOOD pads/helmet - as well.
Hey I know I’m commenting like 4 years from when this was posted but right now I have the Impala’s and I am looking to upgrade from impalas to moxi. I’m not sure weather I should get the jack boot or lolly’s. I’m not really a like a hardcore skate park skater but I do like outdoor riding around neighborhood skating and indoor skating. So which one should I get? I loved this vid btw and thank you!
Nice video! I just switched from a very flat blade to a new one with a huge heal pad. I didn’t like it at first; however, with the position of the foot being more on your toes had made me pop up off of ramps much more easily. It’s weird. I feel like I can jump onto ledges more easily as well. I can see while that heal works well!
Ah so cool! Are there insoles you can get for blades that would give you a boost? Or do the boots have to structurally be built that way? I would love to try something like that!
Bambi Skates some skates have heal pads kind of built into the skate and others you can just add as an after thought to adjust how forward you are. I’m currently riding the Razor Shift and Razor skates are notorious for having a tall heal pad. It’s weird but I like it!
What plate is better out of the two for skate park ramps and bowls I’m currently looking at the chaya Karma skates as the moxie skates don’t come in my size
Can you maybe do a Lolly vs Panther comparison? I'm a beginner and really wanna know which one would be better since they got quite the price difference haha
I don't really want to do ramps at the moment but I'm very interested in spins and tricks (I used to figure skate) I have some skates now and I got the moxi gummy wheels but I feel like my Walmart skates could use a upgrade. Which would u recommend for just flat outdoors?
Do they have aluminum plates? Wondering because I've heard that aluminum is lighter and stronger. Also I'm still confused on what size to buy for me. Since I've injured my foot years ago I wear a size larger. My shoe size is 9
im thinking about the fuchsia because i love the way the color looks in everyone's youtube videos and it looks like it wears well. im only worried because on the moxi website the color is VERY pink rather than this mauve-y color, did you buy them more bright and they wore down over time??
super cool video! I have never ever skated before in my life but have been interested in skating for so long! I have been doing some research to see what skates would be best for me as a beginner 14 yr old skater, so I really appreciate this very informative video! could you please share with me any sites that sell the lolly boot at the price you mentioned? thanks and have a great day or night!
www.moxilongbeach.com/moxi-skate-products.html is a great shop to go through, they are the experts! Give them a call and they will be able to answer any and all questions. Tell them Bambi referred you! ;) I would say a Moxi Lolly boot would probably be your best bet if you don't think your feet will be growing much more! They will be super comfy and last you many many years!
I want Lollys; don’t want stiff uppers. I have Sure Grip Boardwalks and the uppers are stiff, and a little restricting. However I prefer the steel toe for protection.
My dream would be a jack boot that has that awesome durability and a Lolly plate and trucks since they’re lighter. I skate daily but I’m a tiny thirteen year old so I want durability and light weight! 😅
Where do you skate? If outdoors, the metal is better anyway, due to durability. If you're skating only at the local rink, then, yes, the nylon plate would be better. However, you can get whichever skate you prefer then just mount it onto whatever plates you want.
Thank you for this video. I have done literally 3 entire days of research trying to confirm whether the Lolly suits my skating need and this video has done that lol 😂 I want to be able to do better dance skating than I can with my stuff Impala skates, and do mild beginner ramp skating. But I still don’t know if I should change the plate for ramp skating, what do you think?
My first fail in my Luna skates and the lace pivet things smashed...first crash and they gave. They pop back out but holy snaps for the price I would expect better lace holders.
Is Jack significantly heavier compared to Lolly? I'm 50kg 5 ft 3. I find moxi 65 wheels feels significantly heavier compared to energy 65 wheels. I wonder with the aluminium hub powerdyne pro reactor plate, Vs nylon, will it add further weight? Thanks again for the review 👍😍
I just bought the lolly sk8 yesterday. With custom laces it was $340 out the door. Super happy with them!! However the lolly has a lighter black truck and Jack has a heavier silver color truck...how come on here your lolly has the silver truck and Jack has the black? I'm confused. Great review though!!
I’m coming back to skating after 25 years off- so basically new. I’m not broke (because I am an old woman😳👵🏾)- my ankles aren’t super strong....should I get the Lolly or the Jack? Thanks for any input. ❤️❤️❤️
Do you mean that the only difference between the lolly and jack is the inside of the boot portion ? Is there a difference to the frame on each of the two styles of ?
Hi, great review! I recently purchased a pair of Moxi Lolly skates, is it normal for it to lack an insole? Surely this gray flannel piece is not considered an insole? Please help.
This really helped understand the pricing. It using Moxi wheels on different brand skates, but first chance I get I’m investing in some Actual skates !
Is the Jack boot a wider boot? I'm scared to order the Lolly, because I'm afraid it will be too narrow. The Jack looks wider but I'm not sure if you said? Thank you, great tutorial.☺️
Nice video.. I come from derby speeds and I love them.. I've honestly tried to wrap my head around these Moxy kind of skates.. And although cute, they look heavy and cumbersome.. Are they heavy? I just checked the price and they're $630!!.. I would of thought $200-$300.. But for that price they better be a dream come true.. Any informative videos you can recommend to persuade me to cross over to Moxy?
It’s pretty ridiculous that both of the boots have basically doubled in price since this video was made... that being said, I’m a lower level advanced park skater and I can’t really afford the jackboot. Skating as aggressively as I do at this level, do you think the Lolly will last long enough for it to be worth the purchase (now $300)?
Have you met/heard of anyone who upgraded from a Lolly to a Jack boot and ended up not being super happy about it? I LOVE my Lolly's and am in a weird grey area where I'm basically doing 1/3 park skating, 1/3 roller dancing and 1/3 street skating which is why Lolly has been great for all 3. But as my park and street skating is getting more advanced, I'm starting to feel a drag in speed from so little support in the ankle and tongue. I'm just curious if investing in a stiffer boot might actually feel TOO stiff for some skaters...just asking :) And THANK YOU for your helpful videos!!
Hey Bambi!! I know someone already recommended it but I’m looking to order the jack boot but I’m really stuck on the plate and I was just wondering if you had any recommendations. Thank you💜
Bambi Skates well I’m super super inspired by your outdoors park skating and I also love indoor dance skating so something that would be beneficial to both? (I don’t know much about plates so I don’t know if I’m being picky by wanting something good for both) I was looking at the reactor neo and heard good things but was looking for more opinions! Thanks for the reply!!! :)
@@victoriawaddup For indoor dance, you'd want the nylon plate - light-weight, making the skate easier to maneuver. However, for outdoor use, I'd definitely go with a metal plate. So....either 2 sets of skates (get the ones you think you'll use most first) or keep switching your plate back and forth (which, quite frankly, would be a pain in the neck, especially if you don't have all the tools you'll need already).
Any suggestions for how to better the rivets on the lolly? I've had this problem for the lolly and the beach bunny (I park skate like most days a week at the moment) - can you get these rivets by themselves to put onto the lolly?!
Yes! I should do a video on this ;) They are very similar in style and appearance to the Lolly and Jack, however they are made out of vinyl as opposed to leather suede. Vinyl makes them less expensive and vegan (yay!) however they do have a much stiffer feel and don't mold to your feet as nicely, so overall they are a little less comfortable.
I forgot to mention that in the video. Oooops! Yes, what Kathlena said! If you want a color other than Jade, you just have to place the order with a skate shop that carries Moxi. It costs $90 for a different color. Who knows, if the Jack boot gets more popular I could see them eventually releasing it in more colors. :)
I got roller skates at sports direct for €30, and compared it with the moxi jack boot(the moxi jack boot is VERY expensive) And guess what... It turns out that the €30 boot is almost the same... But in return, there is not as much padding and the wheels are hard plastic. but hey, the wheels can be replaced, and maybe you could add padding yourself....
nope, jacks would be way safer! but if you can’t afford a jack (they are almost double the price of the lolly), there are alternatives that offer similar support
Quick question, can you help me out with sizing? do you buy skates the same size as your sneakers? Do you size up or down, by half or whole? Am I looking for the tightest fit? How much space between my big toe to the tip? :D
thank you for sharing ,i like the video and i like the jack skate ,,were i from not to many stores sell skate , we have one store that sell skates , were can i fine some of them ,,can i fine some in ft lauderdale any store in that area
Most stores don't have roller skates any more. You can get them online at the official Moxi site or - sometimes - order them through your nearest rink.
Hey Bambi! I have a question and hope you, or someone else can answer this. I'm currently skating in cheaper btfl sneaker like skates and I feel like, because the boot doesn't cover my ankle, I get pretty wobbly and sometimes my ankles hurt. So now I want a boot, that supports my ankles very good. Are the lollys supporting enough and prevent twisting of ankles while outdoor trail skating? Thanks for answering and helping me decide on new skates!
Are Moxi skates heavy? Well I'm using a pair of hockey roller skates because I used to play hockey, but they're too heavy to try some tricks, so I wanted to know if I would notice a big difference or not :/ Thanks for the video, it was really useful, watching you from Spain ! :D
It's shallow, but I'd like to see more colour options, especially some darker colours like burgundy or navy. I know candy colours are part of Moxi's branding but I don't feel like they go with anything I own, haha.
Ohh yeah! I'm drawn to the darker Moxi colors too, just because I get my skates diiiirty! I agree, some darker hues would be awesome!

I’m thinking of getting them and I’m a beginner as well, is it still enough support for you? How do you like it?
I want some moxi lolly’s so baddddddd one day I will be able to afford them
Maybe the moxi beach bunny?
@@edengarden6811 those are expensive!

Is the sizing the same on the Jack boot because of the extra padding on the inside? So, if I wear a 5 in the Lollys, would I go up to a 6 on a Jack?
Can you also use the Jack skate indoors?
Can you maybe do a Lolly vs Panther comparison? I'm a beginner and really wanna know which one would be better since they got quite the price difference haha
I don't really want to do ramps at the moment but I'm very interested in spins and tricks (I used to figure skate) I have some skates now and I got the moxi gummy wheels but I feel like my Walmart skates could use a upgrade. Which would u recommend for just flat outdoors?
I was wondering what was the differences between the Lolly and Jack and your vid magically appeared in my suggestions X)
Good stuff
Do they have aluminum plates? Wondering because I've heard that aluminum is lighter and stronger. Also I'm still confused on what size to buy for me. Since I've injured my foot years ago I wear a size larger. My shoe size is 9
I just got a jack boot and I Love them! A bit stiff but I’m only about 4 hours into breaking them in.
loved thisss thankyou :)
im thinking about the fuchsia because i love the way the color looks in everyone's youtube videos and it looks like it wears well. im only worried because on the moxi website the color is VERY pink rather than this mauve-y color, did you buy them more bright and they wore down over time??
ive been considering on rollerskating so i can get to class quicker lol
thank you for the information!
Ah yes best way to get to class for sure!
Bambi Skates to
Bambi Skates have yu
super cool video!
Great information - much love for y’all and the design of those boots. Thanks for the information! Jack looks great 👍
Thank you for this video.
What boots, wheels, plates, etc are best for Beginners? like BEGINNER beginners?
Great video Bambi, would love your recommendations on plates and wheels. 😊
Yes, I need to do a video on this!
I just bought the lolly sk8 yesterday. With custom laces it was $340 out the door. Super happy with them!! However the lolly has a lighter black truck and Jack has a heavier silver color truck...how come on here your lolly has the silver truck and Jack has the black? I'm confused. Great review though!!
jack boots bulletproof: confirmed
I’m coming back to skating after 25 years off- so basically new. I’m not broke (because I am an old woman😳👵🏾)- my ankles aren’t super strong....should I get the Lolly or the Jack? Thanks for any input. ❤️❤️❤️
Do you prefer dancing in the Jack boot vs the Lolly?
i think probably the jack boot because she has a jam plug on that one and a grinding block on the lolly`
Def the jacks
Do you mean that the only difference between the lolly and jack is the inside of the boot portion ? Is there a difference to the frame on each of the two styles of ?
Which one shoes for dance is good?
Hi, great review! I recently purchased a pair of Moxi Lolly skates, is it normal for it to lack an insole? Surely this gray flannel piece is not considered an insole? Please help.
This really helped understand the pricing. It using Moxi wheels on different brand skates, but first chance I get I’m investing in some Actual skates !
Which is better for skateparks?
So I wear a size 8 in women’s shoes do u recommend me getting a size eight in half in the jackboot
What's that white "bracket" sandwiching the plate on your Lolly?
Is the Jack boot a wider boot? I'm scared to order the Lolly, because I'm afraid it will be too narrow. The Jack looks wider but I'm not sure if you said? Thank you, great tutorial.☺️
I still want the side cutout. I want the jack boot with the side cutout like they have on the tara boot
Would a memory foam on all of the inside including the tongue for Lollys be a possibility?
I would think so, as long as you ordered a size (or 2?) up to accommodate all the foam.
What’s the white thing on the bottom of the skate bc I want one of those
It’s a slider!
Well done on the video
what is the white thing between the wheels ? I need it so much but i don't even know how to called it !
Thank you💜
Oh awesome! What styles of skating are you most interested in?
Wich ones heavier jack right?
I love that deer thing in the back, where did you get it? Also I’m probably gonna get some Lollys next time I get skates :3
It's a very old christmas decoration I got at an antique store ages ago haha!
Bambi Skates it’s so cute :3
What’s your favorite wheels for your jack boot or diff skates ?
Any suggestions for how to better the rivets on the lolly? I've had this problem for the lolly and the beach bunny (I park skate like most days a week at the moment) - can you get these rivets by themselves to put onto the lolly?!
Are the Jacks heavier than the Lollies?
Did you take a size over your real size for the lolly ?
Awakys from what I’ve heard is that the moxi sizes are more like men’s sizes
Awesome review! Can you please review the beach bunny one's next?
Ohh yes! I will try to do that one soon!
Question: Are the beach bunny skates a different boot than the lollys/jack boot?
Wow! Thank you
Sydney Marie you have to custom order them it's an extra $90 for the custom color
I got roller skates at sports direct for €30, and compared it with the moxi jack boot(the moxi jack boot is VERY expensive)
And guess what...
It turns out that the €30 boot is almost the same...
But in return, there is not as much padding and the wheels are hard plastic. but hey, the wheels can be replaced, and maybe you could add padding yourself....
that would most likely bring the €30 boot up to the same price as the moxi jack
Are lolly's good for park skating
nope, jacks would be way safer! but if you can’t afford a jack (they are almost double the price of the lolly), there are alternatives that offer similar support
Did u change the plate I thought jack boot came with a metal plate ?
Are your grind blocks upside down?
Awesome! Thanks for sharing!!
what plates are you using?
Quick question, can you help me out with sizing? do you buy skates the same size as your sneakers? Do you size up or down, by half or whole? Am I looking for the tightest fit? How much space between my big toe to the tip? :D
I keep asking the same question because I'm ready to order
thank you for sharing ,i like the video and i like the jack skate ,,were i from not to many stores sell skate , we have one store that sell skates , were can i fine some of them ,,can i fine some in ft lauderdale any store in that area
I see this was posted a long time ago... any chance you know the brand and color lipstick you have on? I know...totally random.
do you have to downsize on both of these?
SHould a person go a size up in the jack?
Are Moxi skates heavy? Well I'm using a pair of hockey roller skates because I used to play hockey, but they're too heavy to try some tricks, so I wanted to know if I would notice a big difference or not :/
Thanks for the video, it was really useful, watching you from Spain ! :D
