Yeah I'm looking for a compressor, do you know any? /s
@@Sool101 No, what is that?
@@Sool101 Compressor? I hardly know'er!
@@matiashakala1260 I heard it has something to do with pads.
Compressionpads? Idk
Ableton trying to sell Freeze and Flatten in Live12 as Bounce in Place is hilarious.
ableton is overrated. its basically garage band for scene kids
Yeah really disappointed with the Live 12
But you could freeze and flatten in 11 no? Or am I missing something
@@nvisionbeats you could always freeze but you’d have to manually drag the freezed audio to a new track. In 12 they’ve just automated it so it works like in any other DAW.
@@moskva-kassiopeya except for with audio effects though, had to route it through sidechain on a midi track
The best DAW is the one that suits you the... best.
And the one that isn't trying to extort money out of you ✌️
Max is my only reason to use Ableton at this stage. I would like multi channel support, stem separation would be a nice addition
Bitwig's 'Grid' goes a long way!
multi-channel support would be dope
Check UVR it has good stem separation
@@Rola02 cheers!
Ableton update:" we have a new more complicated menu"😑"+a worse version of granulator without fm its simplified" 😑
what menu?
@@neqkk the browser, but imo now it's got more and much needed features.
@@Lt_Lobster oh, never thought of the browser like a menu but I guess it makes sense.. In a restaurant menu kind of way :]
Ableton Live will become the ProTools of electronic production (and you know why this is bad for them)
Funny you'd mention the mouseless navigation when comparing Bitwig 5.2 to Ableton.. When I saw that feature I thought it was just Bitwig playing catch up with the Live 12 full-keyboard navigation that was added with screen-reader support
Damn! That editor's note transition was smooth, dude. Appreciate your insights!
Plus - you can migrate your Ableton Live projects, right into BitWig... haha
bitwig ftw!! 🙌🏻
For real?
Yea.. you can fo that
Bitwig looks interesting, but overall a hot mess compared to Live.
@@ghfjfghjasdfasdf I use both, actually. No hot messes on the Bitwig side. However, it's hard to completely cut the chord when you have used one platform for a very long time.
Retrospective record, midi comping, video support and themes are imo the biggest things ableton holds over bitwig, but I feel its a matter of time before Bitwig catches up. Bitwig does most things so much faster I cant stand using ableton for most tasks now
I used Ableton since v2, switched to Bitwig 5 years ago and never looked back.
It looks interesting, but an absolute hot mess at the same time. I’ve been with Live since 3 and recently moved to 11… and it feels like I’m living in a dream.
Coming from Cubase SE for VSTi work, Live 11 is a fairy tale of epic proportions.
How are you coping with Bitwig?
You got me with the jump-scare at the start :)
9:50 built-in pultec style EQ is nice. wonder how it matches up to other emulations
LETS GO LOGIC PRO X!
Bitwig or die, not gonna lie.
I’m almost through with the trial and I’ve produced more with it than I ever would have in other DAWs I’ve used. The flexibility is amazing and i can get to what I have in my head faster in Bitwig than anywhere else.
🥺
Where can I listen to your work, OP? 🤓

It’s just an advanced algorithm, but “A.I.” is a better marketing term. They’re hardly the only ones doing this though
Yup, AI is one of the most vapid terms being thrown around for marketing purposes
Yes, it is a buzz word. Everything now is AI.
"A.I." has always been a vapid buzzword that tech marketers find sexy, for 68 years.
Oh God these DAW updates are massively boring. These are features that weren't made by actual music nerds and have barely any thought put in to their conceptualization in the first place it seems like
What would you have wanted to see then?
@@meislit9217 Logic Pro: something like a new browser, some modular processing box like patcher in FL studio, or some of the thousands of feature requests in forums.
But instead: AI this AI that, meanwhile there will be popular feature requests online dating back a decade
that intro got me lmao
I feel the same way towards studio one in regards to features & stem separation!
so excited to cop synthmaster 3. such an underrated synth right there
Ableton 12 Flipped up on the system requirements . Now i cannot run on my laptop with it 🙈🙈🙈
The Ableton joke got me 😂😂😂😂
the short brought me here, good idea chad
Thank you I might take advantage of it more
I've been using Bitwig as my sole DAW for 2 years now and I've never once looked back. It rules.
I don't know why people keep insisting on the "tHis DaW iS bEtTer!!1" nonsense. It's not just about features, it's also about a user's preference for layout, workflow, specific and exclusive devices, etc. Sure, they should always work on making improvements including quality of life but too many people these days are obsessed with the bells and whistles which doesn't apply to everybody.
I used Next Pro and first fans since last year, but First Fans stopped working for me (and yeah when it did work it was mostly bots) since two months ago, would love to know if any other passed from 200ish to pretty much none in the past few months
Pivoted to Bitwig around version 4.5, having been toying with it since version 1. Still got Ableton on the computer, but haven't fired it up for six months i guess? Certainly 12 was the first version I just found myself going 'hmm, yeah, nah'.
It kinda seems better once you get used to it. I haven't ever gotten used to it though, granted i have only used it a handful of times
@@Weaverbeats It's very similar, and it's very confiugrable, so you can set it to work just like ableton if you want to (albeit with loads of extra features and workflow improvements). Took a while for them to catch up (just wasn't there on the basics til around version 4.5, despite being forward looking in lots of ways) but now they are racing ahead. The only reason I fire up ableton now is because I like the push 2 integration so much. If I can get the push 2 working as well with bitwig as it does with live, yeah, I'll just sell my ableton license.
High Brother from another planet and mother. Not high obviously but whatever..... Your channel is doing great I like it more and more every time. The content is great, the tempo is just right, it's informative yet opinionated and great to watch you being cynical and funny. I hope more people pick up the channel your hard work definitely deserves an audience. I think the reporting bit in music production is nice and totally needs to exist NEXT to reviews and tutorials. Keep going brother the direction is good and the new stuff keeps coming so burn and praise that crap to your own liking.
hahaha... I'm lovin' your snarky vibe. Keep on
“Not bat an A-eye at it.. I see what you did there.
I have clicked the like button. Waiting for my personalized sidechain tutorial.
This beef got stupid messy glad I exited watching it about half way through
Just like everything else in the 2020's, it's devolving into a p3do witch hunt.
would that mean, that one gets 100 plays on soundcloud for free from real people? - or do they don't count?
Thats a good point 🤔
Now how long do we have to wait @ableton. I would love to do this on my push3
Wouldn't Metro have been a minor a decade ago?
Yep. This witch hunt is getting really tired.
Only problem is you can take advantage of logic 11 stem separation if you have a new apple silcon computer.. That's how they get to pay for the update.
dabbin on sam ash grave into the ad lmao
show me what the f stem sep is for!?
Are you asking?
And we hope Ableton will do more than just catch up. And it should happen within Live 12.x.
Bitwig is fire 🔥 The Best coders left Ableton (because of creative handcuffs) and started Bitwig.. Ableton are now left chasing their tail, while Bitwig continues to storm ahead.. Love the show bro 🇮🇪🦅🇺🇸
really diggin the material man. Whats going on with propellerhead? Protools, Propellerhead and Logic were not even at namm this year. They teaming up or what? Maybe roland is gonna come out with some super Daw since they are buying a bunch of top players like Boss and DW. At least PrS and Tama/Ibanez are keeping their dignity.
still getting ableton soon i think for live performances. Got a good few records out of Unison audio's shit, but overall glad I don't have to clog up my processing with it anymore. Bass Dragon still had some uses, but after scaler 2.9 it was out the door anyways
16:26 still waiting for the SC tutorial... 😇😂😂
I think im gonna get an extended free trial of Synthmaster 3.
Damn as someone who left Logic for Ableton it hurts to see how far they have come. Ableton was really innovative for a while and right now they are in a bit of a innovative slump I guess. Don't get me wrong I got what I need still with 10. If they took note from Logic and upgraded like that then I'll finally update my Ableton version.
Ok so my credit card is gonna suffer but only half as much (because of their sale) but i think i need Bitwig. Any tips on cost effective alternatives to the Glue Compressor?
Also Weaver, do more jokes with your girlfriend , they are hilarious
I heard that logics stem separation requires apple silicone chip no intel so I’m fucked
Now Logic goes to eleven. It will be louder!
Cool tattoo bro lmao
Whats your thoughts on Reason13?
I think i forgot to add it to this episode. Imma film and edit another ep today with it.
I saved so much money not using Ableton
Bruh i'm still on Live 10 and more then likely retiring Ableton after i catch up on my main projects.
So we're gettiing ytmp3 tats instead of getting the premium version lol
I cant do it Weaver, I can learn another daw
Ya'll know you can perform live with Bitwig. Like really well. It's made for both live performances and production.
There’s another plugin that does that extremely well… kinda invented the whole movement… the name eludes me at the moment. Hmmmm 🤡
Auto accompaniment like a Casio pt1 👾🤡 … that stem splitter better let me hear the tape op huffing as they make another cup of tea for the engineer.
11:32 never laughed this hard at news
Glad I still have my copy of Logic Pro. ...not gonna use it over Bitwig, but still!
I knew i picked the right Daw.... logic brothers.... it is our time to conquer!
Looks pretty good! 🥺 Logic (Student Edition) was the first DAW that I made anything good in, as I'm better with live MIDI than programming.
But I boycott any Mac that I have to pay for myself, so I haven't used it in 22 years. I stick with Reaper for emotional (and financial) reasons, but Studio One or Cubase would probably suit me better.
Yes! I've been cooking and learning Logic when I got my newish mb back in 2019. I dig it!
Improv the logic overall (when the song have more EQ the logic will give you a notification saying overall) and inprove the new mastering plugging and the piano 🎹 roll to pick note like FL Studio
15:45 they put it so far out to see if we will protest this pricing. And we will. By laughing hysterically. Why??! That’s more than it costs to buy EVERYTHING.
you forget bitwig was made by devs that left ableton
nah I didn't 🤫
Ableton is not slower than every other DAW when it comes to adding new features. Reason is definitely the slowest when it comes to adding new features
True reason might have them beat. They've both been playing catch up for a while
@@Weaverbeats Ableton is light years ahead of Reason. Reason Studios have been ignoring Reason users requests for way too long. It's like RS is trying to make Reason users angry with every new release. Check out what the soon to be released Reason 13 has to offer. RS said Reason 13 has an updated sequencer but those aren't the features that Reason users have been requesting. RS releases a new pathetic version of Reason every year and expects users to pay for it. If you think Ableton is slow then try using Reason for one day and then let me know what you think. Many Reason users who own perpetual licenses are upset because RS implemented a new online license authorization system. Reason users are forced to phone home every time they open Reason which has been very inefficient. Having to authorize your Reason license every time you open Reason means you have to always be connected to the internet. I think the new online license authorization system is very unethical and makes me hate RS even more
On Native Instruments. We could pay $50 one month and try out everything they have like demo versions and then buy the good stuff. I don't like that we almost never get demo versions for sample library plugins like many of them are.
And of course they make all the features only for M processors in Logic... Or no?
3 Sam Ashes in South Florida but the deals have been weak
Yep. Last month I randomly stopped by the store in North Atlanta, and found out they were closing. I swear the prices were 10% higher than normal. 🥱
I'll check again today.
Ah, my last reply got invisible'd. 😾
Today I went back to my local Sam Ash (just north of Atlanta), and recorded an audio time capsule on a portable Tascam. They're closing in 9 days. Not much left. I saw a Tascam digital 24-track that looked good… a Denon PA on wheels… a cabinet for rack modules.
They spread a bunch of marked-down Samson mics around the store. That seems to be the only inventory that could possibly reach the advertised discount of "up to 70% off." They also pulled a bunch of ancient synth & MIDI cables out of their dusty storage unit.
Most of the exciting gear is gone, but the current markdowns still feel like a joke…
Ableton is nice. But yeah BitWig is pretty cool. And let’s all forget stem splitting yeah? BitWig really looks good Re: working with hardware synths too.
Analog warmth
OH FUCK IM DYING OVER HERE.... ARE YOU HAPPY WITH THAT ONE YOU GLAD YOU GOT THE ONE OFF...LMAO AND THEN THE DABBING ON SAM ASH GOT ME ALL THE WAY FUCKED UP

I might start toying with it more. ITS SIMPLY TOO GOOD.

Ableton Live is like MS Word, huge, clunky, but "everybody uses it..."
The 12 upgrade is laughable, the "HUGE" feature of the Browser is an absolute joke for 2024, oh well...
Not that it’s huge or chunky, still has the best performance of any DAW (maybe except Reaper) but Live 12 was disappointing for sure
@@moskva-kassiopeya
"Best performance"? In terms of the CPU usage? I don't think so.
And sadly, comparing to Bitwig (and I work in both) Live feels old and unfinished. I'm sure you learn to accept it over the years of use, but why?
The 12 update should have been free. I ended up using none of the new features. Literally none. I was stoked about the midi features and I just find them confusing to use.
@@ryanhursh6322 damn right, it's definitely was a minor update
Would love to hear your amazing work, OP. 🤓
Weaver's love affair with Bitwig is real.
That soundcloud next pro shows it to 99% "people" who dont even listen to that style it's very stupid

You really got me on this cableguys fake news 😂😅😢
But to be honest I really looking forward to see what else is new in logic. I can’t find any release notes yet. If they improve midi handling so the signal go past instrument I will switch from bitwig on 13 of May.
It isn't fake news it's a minor update 🙃
Haha, Bitwig news is actually only about Ableton... And recent Reason updates are no news?... Actually agree on that last one 😅
jebus ableton looks so bad right now, THE so called DJ app and no stem capability. Instead v12 gets a bunch of midi tools that cubase had 12 years ago, very dj'y.
And I say this as an ableton user. sad times.

i may or may not stack like 4 fucking valhalla supermassive effects onto one insert in fl studio-

Bitwig's smart tool alone makes it better than Ableton. Than bounce in place, than there clips launcher is WAY better, and its time stretching is pretty tight, but I still prefer Studio One tbh.
