Since A380, Airbus have made the most aesthetically pleasing cockpit designs in the industry. Everything just seems to flow, visually and of course functionally. Looks like a nice office to work in....
The A350 is amazing it is so comfortable and smooth during the flight. You don't feel it banking and take off and landings are very smooth even during winds. You only feel turbulence when it is very bad and even then in the cabin it feels like it is slight turbulence. I would fly these aircraft every time I fly and would choose this aircraft over any other airbus and any other Boeing aircraft.
Looks ok but the nose wheel is too far forward... looks like it was tacked on at the end. Aesthetically it would look better if it was about another couple of metres further back. Same as the A380, which also looks like the nosewheel is too far forward and spoils the looks.
Amazing aircraft and great tech commentary by the Test Pilot . The voice recorder was jarring for some reason.Other than that very useful information for future flyers to decide what type of aircraft to fly.
I'm more of a Boeing fan, but from what I've seen from this jet today, it is something I'd really love to fly, and I rarely ever say that, I look forward to seeing this plane and your future planes competing with Boeing
Not gonna lie I hate people who say things like "If it ain't Boeing, I'm not going." I do prefer Boeing but I'm not gonna go out of my way to get on one in most cases. (except for airline cabin products, & I'll probably pick a 350 or 787 for long haul) If I'm just gonna hop on some plane for some 3-4 hour flight like I usually am, both Boeing and Airbus have extraordinarily well proven aircraft.
I'm surprised the A350 only has a twin tandem (4 wheel) main landing gear. With that type of weight I'd expect it to have a 6 wheel truck like the 777 or an additional centerline twin truck like the DC-10-30/DC-10-40.
Couple of questions :- On all airbus the the pilots stick control is on the left and the 1st officers is on the right. This I assume leads to the pilot becoming left hand sensitive yet the 1st officer right hand; so if/when they have to swap/retrain/get promoted to the left hand seat how much of a brain 'retrain' does it require to acquire the appropriate sensitivity ? Secondly, what's the washing line hanging off the rudder for? Great looking plane!
In general across all Airbus planes in service, during the "Captain's upgrading", the pilot spends about a month in a simulator getting used to the sidestick in the Captain's seat before doing the PICUS hours, mostly as it takes them quite a bit of time to get used to the mirrored controls. That said, a fully experienced Captain would be able to fly in either seat and have full ability to control the aircraft.
It didn't really matter it isn't so hard on Boeing planes you will so plenty of almost all flying one hand on yoke and one on the engine's levers they will use the left hand even if right hand for they would struggle to reach engine's levers and there hands will be crossed so this left/right hand is the same basically
Novo Eduardo AC from a passenger perspective, there’s literally no difference on the inside, the A350 and 787 have the same seating configuration (for the most part) of 3-3-3, although the A350 is a couple centimeters wider, and the cabin ceilings are taller, the seats are pretty much the same.
+Taydrum. While it's an impressive aircraft, the A380 is very expensive commercial flop. Airbus will never recoup the $15bn development costs. It's only just started breaking even on individual aircraft sold. The big question is, which will end first - the 747 or A380? My money's on the A380.
tjp353 That's a tragic thought when you think about all the engineering work that went into developing it. I hope it does at last outlast the Boeing 747... otherwise it's embarrassing.
I'm not convinced he was ever airborne. There's a few simulator shots, but nothing to convince me he was ever airborne in an A350. Most of it looked like stock promotional footage.
Dean Fuller interesting comment. It didn't occur to me he may not have flown left seat. Looked genuine. Nevertheless, I analysed the footage (I know...nerd:). He most definitely did fly left seat in F-WWCF 👍🏼
Dean Fuller No the proof is that crappy landing....he forgot he was in something that sits 20 feet above the ground and came in like he was in a citation....
It’s a sensor. Any time an airliner is being tested you will pretty much always see it.. Boeing has them on their aircraft during testing also.. I can’t remember exactly what information it’s gathering. I knew at one point.. I’m sure I will remember after I write this haha
you said "let's joystick hand-fly this airplane for a landing"; i was curious to see how you move the joystick, watch how the computer allows the command to go thru / or not. it looks like an arcade game contraption.
Hi Chunnel! Airbus' fly-by-wire uses "C* [C star]", or flight path stable, control law. You only make stick inputs when you want to change the flight path or trajectory of the aircraft. Let go - don't touch it - if you want it to maintain the desired flight path or trajectory
Interesting that he makes it sound as if the lack of tactile feedback and interconnection of the Joystick is a positive thing. Had it been present, around 300 more people could still be walking the earth.
Martin Connor had protections been present in the Asians 213 and a crash would have been avoided, not to mention the people that actually lost their lives as a result of that accident. It is absolutely moronic to make such comment and judgement. The AF447 showed us what the lack of training can do! It didn’t show any airplane flaws, just a bunch of IFs coming from guys like you.
Sorry mate, but this is bullshit. If the airline would have trained their pilots better comma they wouldn't have gotten in this situation in the first place.
firmly believe that Airbus engineers have in mind that competition creates new forms and development of aircraft models. But we still do not take into account that the premise is the supply and demand of such aircraft. For this it is necessary to be definitely revolutionary. and take the first step towards a global integration of the global air market.
You obviously don't live under the approach path of an airport. A350 and B787 make worse noise than any other modern aircraft. Give me a smooth hum of an A340 anyday.
+H171001 Here at BA provided there is a vacancy and you have the seniority, you can move onto whichever aircraft you like via an aspirational bid every training year. In response to the previous reply, I'm a little bored of the A320 having flown it for a while now and long haul rosters would suit my lifestyle better
Nick Cockayne Great to know, thanks for the reply. Good luck with your career. My dad is a flight instructor and he's (almost) a little envious of the guys switching to the A350 ;-)
Logan Schaefer because Airbus would rather have the information clearly separated. On the 787 and 737 Max you can adjust size of Navigation display, the EICAS can only be on pilot or co pilots side so one might not see it as well, the MFD can take up half of the ND as well. Some pilots have reported preferring the NG version
Airbus has more overall screen space than the 787. I’ve tried the 787 in a sim and not having an upper centre screen is a pain for the reasons Thomas M states.
They don't in Russian airliners. They use feet for consistency; why do they use Knots instead of KMH? There is also a relationship between feet and barometric pressure. Similarly you could ask why is all ATC in English?
Presenter was so enthusiastic I just bought two
Too bad... I bought 5 each 😁
Good choice!
Since A380, Airbus have made the most aesthetically pleasing cockpit designs in the industry. Everything just seems to flow, visually and of course functionally.
Looks like a nice office to work in....
i spent five wonderful years on the A320, never a problem. the A350 will have a bright future. 💖Airbus
That is a beautiful paint scheme on that airliner. I hope Airbus sells 1,000 of them. I can't wait to fly on one!
That cockpit is dope.
I don't get how they get to fly an A350 and can't afford buying a good microphone.
lol good point!
They are in a simulator
You know how much a sim costs?
@@idontgotnothin 4:55 where are you getting that from?
What do you expect in a “noisy” airport?
Those engines look huge!
This one and Dreamliner are both most beautiful big birds in the sky 👍®
A350 is horrible! Concorde IS BEAUTIFUL.
well it's not in the sky
Looks ok but the nose wheel is too far forward... looks like it was tacked on at the end. Aesthetically it would look better if it was about another couple of metres further back. Same as the A380, which also looks like the nosewheel is too far forward and spoils the looks.
S-tech.LION
Name-calling? Really?
thank you for the great video the only thing is is that music is way too loud
wonderful plane!
I've always been a die hard BOEING fan, but this Airbus A350 hits the nail right on the head. I'd like very much to fly on it some time.
4:11 plane banking left but PFD showing right?
Amazing aircraft and great tech commentary by the Test Pilot . The voice recorder was jarring for some reason.Other than that very useful information for future flyers to decide what type of aircraft to fly.
anyone notice that the display 4:10 shows a right bank but the footage showed a left bank 4:14
Wierd flex but okay.
Sorry. I had the opportunity to fly it, but I had absolutely, positively no control over the video editing.
I'm more of a Boeing fan, but from what I've seen from this jet today, it is something I'd really love to fly, and I rarely ever say that, I look forward to seeing this plane and your future planes competing with Boeing
Two old boys bossing it! Got to say the new a350 1000 looks the dogs!
Great video..!
0:21 "Airbus and Boing"
This is MSN 002 !! (still doing test flights as of April 2023).
Just ordered mine. It should get here by next week
Love it! Great video.
what is that thing hanging top of the vertical stabilizer and rudder?
MEHDI no idea but I'm glad to see someone else noticed that too
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trailing_cone
GallicWarrior thanks :)
I guess they forgot to take the "remove before flight" cover... ha ha ha
A350 is 21st century technology plane. Very fast world now
yeah
Not gonna lie I hate people who say things like "If it ain't Boeing, I'm not going." I do prefer Boeing but I'm not gonna go out of my way to get on one in most cases. check 2.50 one can see a drogue chute or a static discharger type stuff dangling from the vertical tai plane
Lovely plane to fly in. So much space, even in economy (Qatar) which makes the 787 seem very cramped by comparison
what is that thing hanging loosely on the tail of the plane ???
Beautiful!! I'm gonna fly this bird one day! :D
Can anybody show me where and which know the aitobrake is in an A350?
Bull Bosphorus above the landing gear lever but most of the time they use the brake to vacate function
@@tomstravels520 though that too is armed with the auto rake p/b.
Beautiful bird !
What is the tail fin dragging?
I'm surprised the A350 only has a twin tandem (4 wheel) main landing gear. With that type of weight I'd expect it to have a 6 wheel truck like the 777 or an additional centerline twin truck like the DC-10-30/DC-10-40.
it is only 275 tons
The -1000 variant has 6 wheel main gear. Bare in mind this aircraft is made of carbon composite not aluminium so much lighter in comparison
So beautiful
what's the advantage for not connecting the side sticks to tactile feedback
like what sort of tactile feedback you need to have ?
why is the red ball on the tail?
add this feature into both a340 and a380 series please!!
What's that wire that is hanging from the vertical stabilizer tip and trailing behind?
Николай Цонев i thought they used that to measure airflow / turbulence
Николай Цонев s
Great video but the music gets very annoying :/
+Kaipeternicolas You mean Bono never starts singing?!
I couldn't agree more about the music. On all these kinds of videos it drives me mad !!
A350 is like the best aircraft ever! It's my favourite!!😊😊😊
It’s kind of funny to see people arguing about A vs B in these videos.
Very interesting
Hi man a Spec.of Airbus are in mm.or kg.not lbs.or inches.! agree?
Airbus A350-1041 is very beautifull ❤🇧🇷
The dream liner and the A350 are very beautiful planes but if I had to pick between the looks I would have to go with the A350.
AirBus A350 🤩🤩🤩
Fantastic machine!
Awesome
How many pilots opperate? 2 or 3?
2 but augmented crews for long haul flights
Airport moving map... yes please!!
Couple of questions :-

Great looking plane!
It has a sensor, in relatively clean air, used to accurately calibrate indicated airspeed. What you see must have been on an early prototype.
Was wondering the same thing regarding training left/right hands
Mark Roberts well I've flown my flight simulator using a side stick with my left hand even though I'm right handed, it's pretty easy for me
In general across all Airbus planes in service, during the "Captain's upgrading", the pilot spends about a month in a simulator getting used to the sidestick in the Captain's seat before doing the PICUS hours, mostly as it takes them quite a bit of time to get used to the mirrored controls. Why not connect the sidesticks, Thus providing interconnection..... ??
+Gene Cage because it's fly-by-wire, it doens't work that way.
I know. My point is, why not make Work that way? It can be done.
+Gene Cage why *must* they be connected?
Because the pilots can then feel what the other is doing.
***** That's not necessarily a bad thing.
I wonder if the small bounce on landing was due to a light plane, having no passengers (etc). ?
It’s just part of flying/landing.
nice plane
Pilot is also the Best Salesman. 👌
THEM WINDSHIELDS THO
bouncy landing but it looks like one HOT item to beat. sleek and sexy plane
"Betting their future" ...
They said that about the A380, and Airbus is still in business isn't it.
Peter Timowreef its all because of EK, the a380 became a somewhat success
LOL every company bets their future on their aircraft, no shit. If one aircraft were to flop, it would likely put em out of business
+Taydrum. While it's an impressive aircraft, the A380 is very expensive commercial flop. Airbus will never recoup the $15bn development costs. It's only just started breaking even on individual aircraft sold. The big question is, which will end first - the 747 or A380? My money's on the A380.

Sherlock fucking Holmes
can i follow you fly away
Cool vid! I wished Chatty Cathy wasn’t talking and the music wasn’t playing during t/o
Highest tech
I’m kinda happy that I bought the A350 900XWB in X plane LOL
Very gooooood very gooooood very gooooood. ...........
It's the airbus dreamliner
i can see some drogue chute type stuff dangling from the vertical tail plane!! can any one tell wat dat is?? seeing dat for the first time though!!
It’s a sensor. Any time an airliner is being tested you will pretty much always see it.. Boeing has them on their aircraft during testing also.. I can’t remember exactly what information it’s gathering. I knew at one point.. I’m sure I will remember after I write this haha
Good
I prefer a wheel over a side stick. But I suppose I could get used to flying with a side stick on any aircraft.
the best of the best.
Where’s the autoland
Nice A350
Biggest capacity? I thought that was the a380
+Chris Heredia : Twin Engine.
oh okay thanks
More better than 787
A350 owns the sky

Xiaotong Li manually trim
yup
Either play loud music or run your commentary...not both...i dont have an auto speaker control to know when you are talking and when you are not
Gonna miss the Airbus 340

Absolutely beautiful bird

sweet
i love love the 787 but... this is a sexy plane
Awesome on domestic flights I like to fly on A320's & Boeing 737-800's , longer flights I've only flown on Boeing 747's .
I'll be flying this aircraft for BA in a few years, or the A380. Not fussed which
A320 sadly ;-)
What's wrong with the A320 :) More landings and takeoffs and would just like you to know you are exactly were I wanna be in 5 years :D
+Nick Cockayne How can you be sure. Pilots are not to choose their aircrafts as far as I am concerned.

1:12, the largest ever installed on an Airbus. Key word: airbus

Me too
If it ain't Boeing, I ain't going.
Sorry us but this the best plane EVER
Why do they still use foot as a measure Something from the middle ages
They don't in Russian airliners. They use feet for consistency; why do they use Knots instead of KMH? There is also a relationship between feet and barometric pressure. Similarly you could ask why is all ATC in English?
the most beautiful commercial civil A/C now
Oh How I wish I was much younger so I could train and fly one of these babies......
Never agreed with joystick philosophy. Don’t agree with no tactile feedback. But nice plane.
Since no airline connects you direct to the controls it’s a bit of a nonsense.
