I was a student at the University of Wisconsin in Madison and on March 22, 1962 I saw Patsy Cline along with Johnny Cash, George Jones, Mother Maybelle and the Carters and The Statler Brothers at The Orpheum Theater. What a show!! I went back-stage and got her autograph. I'm 80 now but I'll never forget that day.
@@samisaid7442 Yes I do. Sadly, these events become landmarks in our lives. Just as I remember being at a McDonalds in Madison listening to the radio when I learned of the death of JFK.
As female vocalist go, Patsy Cline is in a league of her own! There will never be anyone like her ever again!!! We so miss you, Patsy! You left us too early in this life!!! Rest In Peace!!!❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏
I once had a small little cabin on lake in northern Wisconsin. The first day I moved in the neighbor across the small lake was playing music. I yelled across the lake. He said What’s the issue? I said it wasn’t loud enough. He started it again and cranked it. The stars, the calm clear lake, and Patsy Cline absolutely blaring across the north woods.
You know this girl has been gone for years, an still to this day, no female singer has come close to walking in her shadows she left behind, what a voice no one can copy.
She had such an amazing voice. Patsy Cline was one of the greatest country singers ever. Her voice and songs will continue to live on for all eternity.
This song is so special to me. When I was little my mom played the likes of Patsy Cline,Loretta Lynn, Kitty Wells ,Hank Williams and many more. And this song with Patsy was a favorite of ours. It always reminds me of special moments we had together. R. I.P Patsy and Mama ❤
I was scrolling to see if someone had already commented on this. There is a whole lot of Blues in Country music and a whole lot of Country in Blues. I have come to the point I see categories of American music in the last part of the 20th century as marketing to specific groups, nothing else.
One of the top best female singers of all time; I remember when I first heard "I Fall to Pieces" I was in the dental chair and almost fell out! Her life was cut so short.
Patsy Cline a awesome singer. My mom Joyce Parsons liked her music. So sad she passed away 1963,three years before I was born,1966.May Patsy Cline RIP and Joyce Parsons,RIP💐
This is amazing. I just watched Patsy & Loretta and Sweet Dreams. Such incredible talent she had. Such a GREAT movie and sad. Such a tradegy what happened to her. Gone too soon... Rip Patsy cline
My grandmother raised my brother and my self, and she used to sit with her friends drinkin whiskey, listening to patsy cline, that and fats domino as well as others. This song beings back so many childhood memories ❤️
I love Ms. Patsy Cline for her spectacular singing. But, she never imagined in her wildest imagination, that her rendition of this song is going to send shockwaves throughout certain circles, states, and certain countries. When I listen to this song, her lyrics are very powerful and resonate to a particular story or legend whether true or fiction. The song reminds me of "La Llorrona". But, after midnight is when this damsel is seen walking highways, by lakes or rivers, and heard crying incessantly for her true love and her children. What do you think?! 🧐🤔❤️😊 m.t.lopez
Growing up. I wanted twin daughters & I’d name them patsy & loretta. Never was blessed with daughters but my 4 sons sing thier hearts out to patsy & Loretta.. My father & I didn’t always see eye to eye but he introduced me to this country when I was a youngling & I never stopped listening
Amazing! She creates such a unique sound with her vocals. When she is singing it can sound like there are 4 different artist singing in harmony with her. Especially because of the vibrating pitches that are constantly going in every which way. That voice is hauntingly beautiful but also uplifting. One of a kind!
Some have actually debated what genre to consider her songs. Is it Country? Many have said yes. Is it Pop? A number have said yes. Could it be a form of Soul? There might be an argument to some extent.
If I ever had a time machine I go back in time and stop Patsy from going to that plane ! This woman is too incredible of a woman. I can't stop listening and looking at her videos. Thank u for them.
Some country songs crossed over to pop in 1957 and this was one of them. Also vice versa with pop onto country. Both rock and roll and country seem to blend in together during that time. For six years (plus several posthumous releases) this wonderful voice graced records and TV appearances as well. She is just 24 here but so mature.
This was my grandmas favorite song she always sang... especially when dementia hit her hard for 5 years.....this past 2 weeks I've heard it everyday at work, and I noticed a book at work as well that I have at home. I found a card from her in my same book from when I was in high school...this past month was her birthday and passing month. ❤❤❤
Watched the Netflix movie the other day on her and Loretta Lynn. I dont believe I have ever heard a song by Patsy Cline but I like this song. Sad to hear another great artist lost in a plane crash. RIP
This was one of my Fathers favorite songs. He was born in 1938. RIP Dad
Absolutely my favorite all time female singer! Nobody else sounds like Patsy!
She was awsome, God bless her, and God must be kinda doing a little side step, a steppin..along with Patsy😊😊😊😅😅

You're right, there isn't a girl singer that can match Patsy Cline. She was one of a kind.
Such a mature, lived-in voice for someone still so young.
Sweet Patsy had the best voice in country music.
She had a swagger like Elvis, so full of confidence when she performed, she was great and she knew it.
She's feeling good in her cowgirl outfit in this one. She likes her duds here .
So true!
I thought I was the only one that caught that I'm Just Discovering her music And This Is Great❤
She had to know it! Everyone else did.
Yes I agree awesome singer ❤️ May Patsy Cline RIP 💐
You know this girl has been gone for years, an still to this day, no female singer has come close to walking in her shadows she left behind, what a voice no one can copy.
So true
Country singer. But she could hold her own with other genre singers.
Tammy Wynette is about the only female country singer who could hold a candle to Patsy
Can you imagine, had she lived, she would have been 90 this September 8th (2022, she was born in 1932).
So true. Too many today refuse to sing where they talk. The corporates want a particular sound- and that sound sucks.
No one could ever sing like her. She had a golden voice! Beautiful voice!
Oh, man! I'm always looking for something new to listen to. How did I forget Patsy. What a joy to hear her again.
The girl had such strong voice. She was angelic!

She is phenomenal. Her songs are not easy to sing and yet she makes it look effortless!!
Hello Kelly how are you feeling today??
Amen to that!
Its obviously a voice over but yea
Only other country singer I can think of that makes it look this effortless, even on challenging notes, is Conway
I was 3yrs old now im nearly 70 and to me it still a fantastic song
Patsy is truly an icon. I am obsessed with this video- it is hauntingly beautiful. May she live on forever and we never lose this beauty. ❤️
I listen to her ever since I was a little girl with my grandma. And I’m still listening to her music. she left us too soon legends 2024❤❤❤ 0:14

She had perfect pitch without Auto tune etc.

Patsy Cline is one of my all time favorites and I rather doubt you will believe this but I can do many of her songs in her voice even today!

This is the real queen of country right here! Wow, what a magnificent singer she was!
Her voice to me always puts a little bit of blues in the country western.

Can't take my eyes off her when she sings every gesture is so pretty..she has "it"
